Behind the Lense

Modern! Ivar x Roman w/ Mila (Ofc) | Words: 930

Warnings: The premise is Stalker Ivar & Roman, as seen by the board. If this is a trigger, please don’t read. Other warnings: obsession, angst, deceit, sexual thoughts

❗️AN: I’m am in no way condoning stalking or obsessive behaviors.

ROMAN

The mystery girl moved in across the street a month ago. Ever since, Roman has been obsessed. He couldn’t recall the last time he was so hypnotised by someone.

A quiet introvert, she seemed to have a small circle of friends and spent her free time in parks or in the library. She was a creature of habit; she always sat at the small table on the second floor, North facing window.

Sometimes she listened to music, other times she read in complete silence. Either way, she always seemed so far away, like she was in her own little world, oblivious to anything around her.

Roman would watch from the corners and behind books. Her academia style outfits and the soft red lipstick she always wore burned into his memory.

Sometimes, Roman would close his eyes and imagine what she felt like, smelled like, how she tasted.

IVAR

He remembers the first time he saw her like it was yesterday. He could still smell the autumn leaves and feel the breeze on his skin.

Flashback

Sitting on the top of the hill, Ivars eyes scan the park, searching for moments worth capturing.

Finally spotting something he likes, Ivar raises his camera and gets into position. With careful focus, he snaps the photo.

Later that night, after developing his recent photos, Ivar looks over his work. He stops in front of one particular photo and brings his hand to his chin, taking a closer look.

Grinning to himself, Ivar takes the photo down for closer examination.

Finally, he thinks, after all this time he’s finally found his muse.

End of flashback

Hidden by shadows, Ivar kept watch.

She liked to journal every other Saturday while seated under the willow tree. She really enjoyed music, often bobbing her head while mouthing the lyrics as she wrote.

Ivar wondered what it was like in her head, he wondered what the world was like through her eyes.

Soon enough, she got a job at the local movie theatre, a small quaint place with old school methods. She worked up stairs in the projector room on Thursday and Friday nights.

As Ivar sat in the back row, blankly watching the film play, he wondered what she's thinking about up there, and if she liked the solitude of such a job. It seemed an odd fit for a girl like her, but it only added to her mystery.

IVAR & ROMAN

Roman didn't know his roommate Ivar shared his object of affection, not until he noisily entered his photography room, ignoring the large keep out sign and Ivars voice in the back of his head.

Since moving in with his best friend, Roman was always curious about that room, but never entered. He half thought Ivar would really stab him if he did.

But curiosity got the best of him, he had to see for himself.

Roman finds himself too drawn to the photos, he spends more time in there than he should. He doesn't hear the front door open or Ivar come down the hall.

Cursing to himself, Ivar grips the handle; he already knows Romans in there.

Roman barely budges when the door opens, or when Ivar yells at him. He’s too fixated on a series of photos on the left wall.

When Ivar walks over to him, Roman points to the photos,

“You noticed her too?”

Ivar focuses on the wall of photos, “she's my muse.”

MILA

As the last film of the night comes to an end, the lights downstairs come on and people start to leave.

Turning the projector off, Mila glances down at the seats and watches them for a moment. After a minute or two, she washes her hands and makes her way down the stairs to the main floor.

Leaning against the door left of the exit, she gently smiles at patrons as they leave for the night.

As the last group trickles out, she spots the guys at the very back, the last to leave. They’re both very handsome with the kind of eyes you get lost in.

They whisper among themselves as her eyes settle on them, they almost seem put off guard.

The taller one with green eyes flashes a smile as they near the door.

Mila stands up tall and pulls the keys out of her pocket. The guys watch perplexed as she locks the door before they can leave.

“There’s something you should see.” She says calmly.

Mila flicks off the main light, darkening the entryway and walks ahead of them.

Unsure of what's happening, Ivar and Roman follow her down a set of stairs to the basement.

They talk among themselves in whispers, she can hear them but doesn't say a word.

The hall is dimly lit and when she stops in front of a door, she unlocks it. Looking back over her shoulder, she smirks,

“Well, coming or what?”

They look at each other and watch her disappear into the room. Once inside, Mila flicks on the light and stands in front of the wall.

The brothers enter the room, their jaws drop.

“Think I don’t know what you’ve been up to boys?” her voice is spiked with a honeyed tone. Ivar walks past her to get a closer look at the wall.

“What the shit?” Romans eyes move quickly over the wall of photos.

Photos of him, photos of Ivar.

With a soft chuckle, Mila takes a seat in the chair by the desk, her eyes jumping from Ivar to Roman.

“I guess the question is, who's watching who?”
