This used to be in the tags. To keep things tidy, here's my own descent into hell on a separate reblog.

debated calling it 'great' instead but 'big' is more objectively descriptive

edit 1: added a "the" before deleting it bc the artist has actually created more testoni some of which are on a larger scale so the head wouldn't be unique enough to warrant a "The". it does sound smoother in my head though…

edit 2: ahh fckit i just deleted the translation of the title. no more debate between The Big Head, Big Head, (The) Great Head. less white hair for me. less pixels for you to read

the description in italian confused me. 'semirefrattario smaltato e porcellana' "semirefrattario" is an adjective smaltato is also an adjective the 'e' doesn't have an accent so it's not the verb but a linking word. so i was guessing "Semi-refractory enamel and porcelain" as in a part of the porcelain doesn't have enamel (i.e. the glazed effect) and some parts do (the girl inside the head) and are thus called by the effect they have.

however, now i'm thinking "semirefrattario" is one of those adjectives that become nouns through use (used to be "materiale semirefrattario") in which case it all makes a lot more sense

anyway, all of this to say i gave myself a headache thinking about a description no one will read / care about
