I find it kind of gross that Gillian posted about 10th anniversary of The Fall but ignored the 25th anniversary for the X-Files and she’ll probably do the same for the 30th as well. No matter how much she and her stans try to make it so Stella will never have the cultural nor staying power of Scully. Scully is still impacting fields and inspiring women globally. It’s a shame Gillian chooses to not acknowledge such a well loved character. I know she had her issues with the show but it would be nice if she remembered the original fandom that gave her the career she enjoys today.

I plan to attend the PhileFest and will enjoy celebrating the show that gave/still gives me so much joy when I was going through so much trauma in my life. I am grateful to everyone in front of and behind the scenes of such a beloved and iconic show. I can’t wait to spend time with deae friends and the creatives/talent of the show who feel the same.

The X-Files and the role of Scully brought Gillian fame and fortune, but the same series brought her many trials and humiliations. This mainly concerns the role of a woman in the series, as decorations and additions to a man, which was a common thing in those years and Gillian had to deal with it. I think it was a pretty dirty game on the part of the "cool" men and I doubt we'll ever find out the whole truth. It is very revealing that after all the recognition that Gillian received for the role of Scully, Gillian was offered a fee that was half that of David. In the end, Gillian got her money, but when you have to fight for every cent, when your partner gets his contract without problems, it leaves a bitter residue in your soul. And it's not David's fault. It was the decision of the studio bosses, but when you are constantly fighting, sometimes this fight just gets boring and you just want to leave everything in the past and forget. I think that's what Gillian is doing. I think that Gillian mentions The Fall not only because Gillian likes her role in this show, but also because, unlike the X-Files, the Fall has a chance to continue and Gillian just supports the interest of fans who are waiting for this show to get another season. I believe you'll have a great time. I've been to a couple of conventions, but they were conventions for Stargate fans. And my Stargate conventions were very fun and successful. FedCon (Bonn/Düsseldorf) forever!

So, I just bought my day-pass for Sunday for the fedcon in Bonn. I’ll go to Jenna’s panel (I’m not guaranteed admission to the panel because it’s just a day-pass and if it’s too crowded, I’ll have to leave again and make room for the people that paid more money). I also want to go to her photosession but I couldn’t buy a ticket for that online, so I’ll have to wait until the con and hope for the best.

FedCon Day 1

I did not expect to see Brent Spiner today.

Even less did I expect for him to see me and my best friend.

And I never would have imagined freaking him out without so much as saying a word.

Okay so:

They were presenting all the stars at the introductory event. And that already had my heart racing because we saw Jonathan live on stage and next it was Brent's turn. And when he was supposed to come out they were all like "sorry he's stuck in traffic". He even made a video to apologize and that he would be there tomorrow. So at this point I'm like "Well okay, I didn't expect to see him today anyway".

AND THE NEXT FUCKING SECOND HE WALKS OUT ON STAGE AND I HAD A FREAKING HEART ATTACK.

And then after everybody had left the stage and the event was over, my best friend (Anni) and I were exploring the venue. We were relaxing, taking pictures of Brent's autograph table we randomly found and walked on and then she suddenly casually says: "Oh, look who's there."

AND IT'S FUCKING BRENT WALKING TOWARDS US.

I couldn't move I couldn't breathe I couldn't think. I just stood there frozen, staring at him.

And then Anni turns, sees me and starts laughing at the top of her lungs. Anni's laugh is a gift from (diety of your choice) and easily recognizable and very, very loud.

So she laughs and that makes me laugh and then I just see how Brent turns to us with an expression that says "What on earth is that sound?!"

And we were laughing even harder.

So yeah I think we freaked him out quite well.

But then we have to walk DIRECTLY BEHIND HIM down the stairs. Giggling like fools the entire time.

The situation there is very chill, like people aren't supposed to ask for photos and stuff so the stars can enjoy the Con as well. (Which I love btw, it's makes for such a wonderful atmosphere)

I felt like such an annoying fangirl /o\

And then when we reached the bottom of the stairs, Brent was standing there, talking to people and I did my best to ignore him so I don't seem so annoying.

BUT THEN JONATHAN FUCKING FRAKES walks down the stairs and Anni starts laughing out loud again.

And then it was over. We were a giggling, coughing mess and Anni says Jonathan had a similar expression as Brent did and yeah.

We were definitely the loudest and most annoying people there today.

BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

At FedCon 29 in Bonn, Germany (22-24 October 2021) I asked Torri what she thinks the relationship between Rachel and Elizabeth would have looked like if given more screen time and more opportunity for development.

A few highlights from of her reply

- when I mentioned that I started shipping Teyla and Elizabeth she said “awwww”

- “I love love love that you ask that question”

- she thinks Teyla and Elizabeth would have been great friends and great resources for each other

- she wished that Teyla would have taught Elizabeth some of her martial arts skills so she would be able to defend herself and not be a liability for the expedition which I LOVE because it gives so much fanfiction potential

- she loved that I saw the potential for their relationship and said it was sad that it wasn’t explored more

- “And bring on the shipping, that’s cute, I love it.” LISTEN!!!! WE WERE OFFICIALLY ASKED TO SHIP TEYLA/ELIZABETH BY THE QUEEN OF ATLANTIS HERSELF AND SHE LOVES THE SHIP!!!!!!

- SHE CALLED ME DARLING!!!! (I’m aware that it’s just a word and i’m not the only one who she called that but I still love it)

Not on the video:

- when I got the autograph she thanked me for my question at the panel (she remembered and recognized me!!!!)

- she also mentioned the question at the group panel with the other guests of the Atlantis cast!!!!

Anyways, I hope tumblr doesn’t fork this up again. I loved FedCon. I love Torri Higginson. I love Atlantis. I love Stargate. Life is good. Thank you💖
