Merdeka or Independence Day and Malaysia Day - Hari Malaysia should not be mistaken as the same day. They are separate important days in Malaysia. Independence Day is a celebration on the 31st of August and Malaysia Day is celebrated on the 16th of September.

So why do we have 2 days to commemorate these days? This is because Independence Day is celebrated to commemorate the independence of the federation of Malaya from the British colony, whereas Malaysia Day - Hari Malaysia is celebrated to commemorate the joining of the federation of Malaya, North Borneo (Sabah), Sarawak and Singapore to become a new country called Malaysia.

Heyy...back in 2004, after completed my undergraduate study in April, I was lucky to be accepted to work at the #NationalLandscapeDepartment (#JLN) on the 1st Nov 2004. Since then, I've learnt so much things as a government servant, as a landscape architect, as a landscape data officer, as an urbanist, as a landscape planner, as a landscape researcher, as a landscape policy maker, as a landscape project manager and many many more. Million thanks for this tremendous opportunity. To those who inspired me (especially my late father), the people with whom I worked together, further study offers, outstations all over Malaysia, oversea technical visits, engaging with other disciplinary, the up & down incidents, impromptu & urgent tasks, multi-levels events and so much more... You're truly my super amazing "teacher"... Thank you very very much. Today 2nd January 2022, I am officially no longer with the so called 'Malaysia Garden Nation Team' and I'm proud to be the pensioner!. The Bukit Jalil National Stadium (Malay: Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil) in Bukit Jalil, located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the city centre of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Malaysian national football team. With a capacity of 87,411, It was officially inaugurated by the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, on 11 July 1998 ahead of the 1998 Commonwealth Games and staged the opening ceremony. Labuan Botanical Garden was once the estate of a stately government mansion, affectionately called “bumbung 12” (twelve roofs) by the locals. It was built in 1852 as the official residence for Labuan’s first governor, Sir James Brooke, and the island’s succeeding Residents. It served as the guesthouse for many dignitaries visiting the island. The Prince of Wales, (later King Edward VIII) also stayed here when he visited Labuan in 1922. A corner of this park was also used by one of the Residents to raise dairy cows and produce butter at that time. A century later on 10 June 1945, the old manor together with a large section of this park was destroyed under heavy artillery bombardment by the Allied forces to liberate Labuan from Japanese occupation. There are many things to do during your visit to Labuan. One of the most popular attractions on the island is the Labuan War Cemetary. This cemetery contains several memorials to the fallen soldiers of World War II. This includes soldiers from North Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei as well as India, Australia and the UK. A memorial service is held here on Remembrance Day every year. Labuan also has several other important historical destinations from WWII, such as the Allied Landing Point and the Japanese Surrender Park. It's easy to travel around Labuan, you may rent a car or motorcycle.
