The bard was... wordless at the girl’s story. He wrote in his journal and presented it to the girl.

“I’ve experienced a lot more stranger things.” He pulled his journal away to continue to write after she read through it. When he was done, he presented what he wrote again. “I’m not saying you’re crazy, but that’s crazy. Killing your own parents? If I didn’t know the whole story, I’d say you’re definitely crazy for doing that. Also this is way off of the topic, but do you understand sign language? Writing becomes tiresome for me sometimes. I find it a lot easier to use sign language or play my harp for communication.” Felicien had a lot to say to the girl, but he didn’t know where to start. He wasn’t even sure how to feel when the girl told him everything about herself. He wasn’t so sure if Naomi was holding anymore secrets. Naomi sounded like she told him a good majority about herself however. If she had anymore of these secrets to tell, perhaps she could tell him now or save it for some other time. Felicien wasn’t expecting too much from her, honestly. If she’s comfortable and ready to spill more of her own stories and secrets, maybe she will. If it was the opposite, as much as Felicien would like to know, he wasn’t the type to force someone to speak if they were uncomfortable.

Feli would be the book shop owner! there's a local shop in my town that has cats, and that would absolutely be Feli. in some universes, he's got just the Ugliest Smush-Faced Rescue named Lyonette, and she rules the roost and demands tithe from visitors (lots of scritches while she purrs so loudly she drools) and will also fall asleep on the card reader (which has happened to me before Mr. Eliot sir, pls move) but it's fine bc she is very loveable <3 The shop would be very cozy and full of antique furniture and carefully organized sections, and he would absolutely regularly hold book clubs with tea and snacks!

hilariously, i actually have a MOTW character who owns a cafe! his name is Maugrim, and he's a middle-aged werewolf with a trouble past who got through it with baking! he opens up a couple of his own cafes, and usually employs other troubled young supernatural folks trying to get by. his main location he's left in the hands of a protege so he can move to a small town to take better care of his little sister, Wylie, who, uh... found out she had an older brother, hunted him down, and broke into his home. She's like 7 and kind of terrifying but he loves her very much and he gives her plenty of say in the layout and helping out! The cafe has that excellent vibe of tons of incredibly comfy mismatched vintage chairs and tables, a wide selection of tea, and local artists' work hanging everywhere! the music is usually chosen by the teenage supernaturals he tends to employ, so it can vary wildly from day to day

Flower shop owner is YUSHA! <3 Big boye loves flowers and gardening. Less so socializing, so he probably has a small staff of folks he trusts and keeps behind the scenes. He absolutely has a pretty nice indoor/outdoor space bc it's probably a combination flower shop/nursery, and the indoors definitely looks just as wild and overgrown as the outside! Ivy and pothos climbing the walls and shelves, some fountains and big glass windows to offer as much sun as possible. If you DO manage to get this huge, terrifying man hiding in the greenhouse to talk to you, he'll go on an hour-long tangent about whatever crossbreeding project he's working on, or a lecture about the best ways to care for your plants

weLL i have a bunch of them so lets just pick a handful haha

Ma’scha loves warm, fresh-baked bread. it’s such a rarity for him, even though it’s a pretty simple pleasure. he’s used to the cold, crusty stale stuff that travels well

Whispers loves fish and seafood. she eats it raw– though she eats most meat raw, because cooked meat makes her feel sick. plus, raw fish and such is a lot easier to just. swallow whole. goes down smoother.

Felicien has a MASSIVE sweet tooth, with a preference for delicate soft cakes and things with sugar frosting and glazes. like tea cakes and donuts.

Shay loves a good burger– nothing makes her happier than a big, greasy, sloppy diner burger. bit hard to come by in space lmao

Prudence isn’t picky– she cooks and bakes a lot, so her preferences tend to be simple down-home recipes she’s picked up in her travels.

Fidget will eat just about anything she can catch, but she really likes pickled vegetables a lot. It’s fairly easy to get her hands on, keeps for a long while, and she just really likes that salty vinegar taste. but she has some very fond memories of good, rich, creamy stews.
