started playing another pet sim game. gave my cat a healing rock, (understandably) assuming it would heal his injury he sustained when his gf cat beat the shit out of him. it did not do that, but it did make his feet glow for no discernible reason, I think I just gave my cat radiation poisoning

Games I Play:

Pixel Cat’s End (user CopperSky#3924). This game is very cute, lots of fun, very much recommend it. Adventuring, genetics, collecting, and breeding all in one, plus the community is amazing

Xanje (user CopperCries). My account is currently 5 years old, almost 6. Mostly pet collection, although there is breeding and mini games. Not super interesting, but I go back every once in a while

FelisFire (user Copper’s Cries or #2750). Mostly breeding, although there are games and collection aspects. I really like a lot of the features included in it, such as the way relationships are formed

Lioden (user Copper’s Cries or #135905). It’s a great game, but the economy is out of control. Completely wack. People seem to be focused on grinding and getting the best and rarest lions instead of actually enjoying the game, but that says more about the community than the game itself

Wolvden. Same as Lioden, but the question is if I ever go back. It’s interesting, I like some of the mechanics, but I joined so early in the game’s life that I wasn’t a huge fan. The economy wasn’t developed, everything was very expensive, and it was hard to get stuff without being overcharged or grinding

Sporcle (user Copperfall). I love this site. Quizzes. Puzzles. Knowledge. Logic. Trivia. I’m mostly on the Warrior Cats side of things, but I absolutely love it. I am obsessed. Been a user since 2018 and it is fantastic. 10/10 recommend

Col here is a Felisfire cat.  On Felisfire the cats are immortal BUT they age out of breedability after a while.  Unless you keep them in cryogenic storage.  I put all my cats in cry a while ago and bought Col, who was already too old to breed when I got her.  So she’s my hunting/gathering cat.  A sweet old lady cat.  The fairy godmother of my cats.

I want to get involved on a virtual pet website again but like specifically I want to have been there from day one and be the reason the virtual economy is busted and the devs patched whatever thing I was exploiting to hoard virtual currency and resources

Chicken smoothie still has active RPs, furrypaws really doesn't, and lioden didn't really have any activity when I was still playing it

I'm honestly not surprised that CS outlasted the other communities. I haven't been on LD at all in like. 5 years?? And haven't been in the forums of FP for longer. I wonder if Wolvden has more RP activity? A LOT of the RPs on Lioden were, unsurprisingly, wolf RPs, so I wouldn't be surprised if those people mostly migrated to Wolvden.

if you guys want to know why wingless ancients have big frills or something just go find a scalae on felisfire with any of the wing markings. those only have spikes and any wing marking is very small on them and really underwhelming even compared to the other wingless species (xano, aquus) because those have crests or fins that get those markings whereas scalae Only Get Spikes. so if you wonder why the wingless breed(s, in the future?) is just getting a big fin just keep that in mind. they might not have wings but they need somewhere for the secondary to go. so most wingless breeds are going to have fins, crests, big manes, SOMEWHERE for the secondary to sit because otherwise you get felisfire scalae (no salt to scalae they look cool as hell they just suck with wing specific markings in the same way a dragon with no space for a secondary would suck with secondaries)

Do you still play felisfire? I feel like no one talks about it anymore.

I go in to play dailies but I don't really 'participate' because I juggle dailies for way too many petsites right now. I'm MegaRose (#6093).

For anyone wondering about Felisfire, it's a space cat breeding game.

They apparently had an inactive user purge a few years ago but deleted users can reregister and give as much info as they're able to get their cats recovered. That's what I did, and I got all my original cats back.

I assume people don't talk about Felisfire because it was ignored by its original owner for a long time before changing ownership, but also because you don't get super tight control over breeding. Cats will just wander around and breed with each other unless you isolate them into intentional pairs, and they eventually get too old to breed. I bet a lot of people find that stressful, especially compared to ageless pets with a simple breeding interface, like Wajas or Flight Rising.

But! It's actually fairly easy to make custom gen 1s, in comparison to most other games. If you pop in for dailies and holidays you can get marking items, and unhatched eggs on Easter, and stuff like that. So I really would like it if more people got into it. Maybe we SHOULD talk about it more.
