Pretty much my whole life, I've had an unwavering desire to express and share ideas through creative work. "Art is advertising for the most important ideas" - I believe this fully, and I hoped to be able to contribute, even if it's only a tiny, tiny bit, to the world, in this way. Boudoir photography presented me with the perfect opportunity to do this, because being a feminist since as young as I could remember, and also being stubborn and strong-willed, I constantly questioned gender roles and wanted to understand why women were subjugated and discriminated against, and why womens' sexuality was such a tabboo. Why were women taught to repress their sexual lives? How is that okay or fair? I most certainly don't have the answer to this (I mean, it's pretty complex!) but I am so thankful to even be able to contribute to this conversation, collect insights, and observe the changes going on around us in the world. I have sacrificed a lot to do this work; it's rewarding, but it comes with lack of stability, huge responsibility as a business owner, 60-80 hour weeks, always wanting to do and be better, and constant pressure. As creating this brand was my primary focus for the last 12ish years, so many other things in my life received almost zero attention. And yet, I wouldn't have it any other way - looking back to where I started this journey, it's really quite something to reflect upon. It may not seem like a big deal to others around me, but being able to earn a living from creating, expressing, and sharing is my literal dream come true. I am so appreciative of the support I've received from my friends, family, and clients, it has meant so, so much, well I just don't think I could ever possibly reciprocate to the same degree...but, I'll try.
