Fenrir, They/Canid
A newcomer stopped by recently. Their name is Fenrir, and canid like werewolves. Werewolves are super cool creatures, so I understand why it's an interest of theirs. Isn't Fenrir the giant wolf from Norse mythology? I wonder if Fenrir named canidaeself after that wolf. Anyway, I hope Fenrir has a good day, canid enjoys canids interest, and they take care of themself!
Matt, They/Ze
A newcomer stopped by recently. Zir name is Matt, and they love Good Omens. Ze's actually hyperfixated on it right now, which I totally get! That's a good show. Their favorite character is Crowley. He is such a great character! I hope Matt has a good day, they enjoy that hyperfixation of theirs, and ze takes care of zirself!

About
I should’ve probably made one of these sooner but-
You can call me Mutt, I’m 24, you can use he/they/it pronouns for me!!
I’m very new to actually jumping in to Therian stuff and all it means to me, but being canine kin isn’t. A few of my ficktionkins are connected to animals if not outright anthro/animals themselves.
Each of my Canid Theriotypes/kintypes have different names, which are:
Eurasian Grey Wolf Faoladh - Canis/Conrì
Direwolf - Fennu
Deerhound Lurcher - Honey
Timber Wolf - Rowan
Red Fox - Gregg/Greggory
Wolamute (Malamute/Timber Wolf Wolfdog) - Hemlock
Also Fenrir, the wolf of Norse Mythos, and an unnamed Maned Wolf
Any questions about any of them feel free to ask!!
I follow from @danvidtowell, and my blog dedicated to fictionkin/fandom posting is @fickin-feral-faggoth
Usual DNI applies: TERFs, MAPs, bigots of any kind, just don't be an arsehole and you can stay

"And with Fenrir, he could give you the full explanation, but in sum... 'Such feelings are not true, and it is a test of his will to resist them, a test that he shall never fail because he is the mighty wolf of Ragnarok.' "

Biting --
A “Muzzle grab” is a common behavior shown by social canines, e.g. wolves (Canis lupus lupus), dingoes (Canis lupus dingo), and dogs (Canis lupus familiaris). The function of this behavior is to confirm a relationship rather than to settle a dispute. The more self-confident individual will muzzle grab a more insecure opponent and thus assert its social position. The more insecure individual does not resist the muzzle grab. On the contrary, it is often the more insecure individual that shows submissive behavior by literally inviting its opponent to muzzle grab it. Even though we sometimes see this behavior at the end of a dispute, wolves and dogs only use it toward individuals they know well (pack members) almost as way of saying  “You’re still a cub (pup).” The dispute itself does not tend to be serious, just a low-key challenge, normally over access to a particular resource. Youngsters, cubs and pups sometimes solicit adults to muzzle grab them. This behavior appears to be reassuring for them, a means of saying, “I’m still your cub (pup).” [x] Likewise, Fenrir often bites playfully as well, enjoying a good rough housing match like any canid But he won’t if you.  1) Cannot handle it. -- A being like Sun Wukong for example who is entirely immortal might become his chew toy. While his own father, Loki who can be injured is only headbutted, tackled, given the lightest of nips.  2) Do not deserve it. Be it from retraumatizing him, threatening him or otherwise, he tends to forgo his fangs as he has not forgotten Asgard’s betrayal and trickery just because he dared be born with strength that frightened even Odin.

@lupusxdei
It was impossible not to perceive the fox's scent, which seemed to circle around him like an invitation, yet there was something subtle, which seemed to slither on his skin / a shiver? No, it was amusing him as the simper widened on his lips, showing the elongated canines and a flicker of the carnassial teeth ── a half transformation as if to determine his presence, but above all his nature. What was Fenrir actually? An Eoten, but he had also become a sort of a wolf demon. His silver eyes gleamed in the afternoon sunlight, imbued with his malicious, lupine essence. He paused as he folded his arms across his chest, watching the vulpine, their gazes crossing as the breeze started blowing, making the trees chirp. ❝ It's not good for a wolf to point you, my young friend, so how about you give me my necklace back? Or would you like one of my kisses spiced with blood? ❞
Tumblr media
If there was a thing Marlo had truly never learnt in his extended life, it was to actually behave when someone was utterly stronger than him. It was potentially due to his everlasting curious fox nature, but surely, he had always ended up in difficult situations because he couldn’t control himself. He was a being of genuine interest, his intense curiosity leading him to be a nuisance and a pest for those who wanted nothing but peace and quiet in this world. He could be a pleasant demi-god to fool around with, surely, but most of the time, Marlo was hiding under his behaviors, a trickster ready to mess around with his favorite prey, whether they could end his life with the slightest slap or a strong bite on his neck. Just like the wolf he was spying on right now.
He knew that Fenrir could be truly unpredictable, and once more, the fox was trapped between the strong arms of the deity, unable to teleport himself away from his deadly embrace. Acting coo would be his best option, the fox looking up, fluttering his lashes and turning his golden eyes into an endless pull of mischief and game. Would Fenrir truly be bothered by his presence? Through his actions, and his mercy, Marlo had the sensation he might have caught God's interest, and he would use these cards wisely, profoundly driven by the thought of being someone important to him. “Oops, you caught me. Again. Am I such an untalented thief whenever I’m playing with you?”
Tumblr media
His three fox tails waved behind his back, his fangs appearing right when he smiled so viciously. Instead of trying to escape the wolf’s embrace, he nuzzled against his chest before a soft yap of comfort escaped his throat. He felt the danger emanating from the canid, but somehow, despite his bestial appearance and all the signals of violence he could see, Marlo just wanted to continue his little trick. “I’m so sad, I LOVED that necklace! I think I’m going to miss it when you’ll take it back.” He sighed exaggeratedly, his profound amber irises observing the scarred features of his favorite new deity. “But… I must say, you have quite a certain interest in kissing those foxy lips. Am I tasty enough for you? Would I receive your forgiveness, Ô my powerful wolf?”
He perched himself onto his tip toes, his nose shamelessly smelling the powerful musk of the God. His clawed fingers moved up to brush the muscles of his shoulders, another purr of content escaping the fox’s throat. Oh, his mischievous nature was only more tempted, and when he was almost tall enough to face Fenrir, he sensually kissed the birth of his chin, a low and amused chuckle abandoning his lips.
“Kiss me more. Play with the fox. I know there’s a part of you who adores following my games. I can sense in your aura that you don’t mind being tricked by my harmless scams.” His fangs gently poked his skin, almost daring to break it, like the brat he was. “Let me show you how to play.”

Deities of Darkness
(A starter for @frozentrickster-rp)
It was rare for a meeting like this to be held... Discussing the future of Asgard now it was resurrected by the combined magical power of it’s greatest heroes, living and dead. Valkyrie was the current Queen of the Asgardians, Thor remained the God of Thunder. Loki revealed himself at long last, the God of Mischief and finally Fenrir, God of Death and Ruler of Hel, having taken over from Thor and Loki’s sister when she died, having gone from her captor to her replacement. Saburo was the youngest of those present by several hundred years, but leading the dishonoured damned had given him wisdom and knowledge at an accelerated rate. Wearing a lot of black and dark green, he sat down in a chair. “You requested my presence, what is it you desire of- The canid-esque deity was interrupted by a rippling behind them, a shadowy fog fell from above as a man emerged from the darkness, his form rippling in the strong wind accompanied by others. His outline was recognizable as Malekith, leader of the Dark Elves. “It has begun... Your temple of the light shall fall and from it’s ashes our darkness will rise. The time of the Asgardian is over... The age of the Dark Elves has come.” The shadowy figure whispered, accompanied by several others in their masks. Standing to his feet like the others present, Saburo held out his pendant in his hand which glowed with infernal green fire, his entire body seemed to levitate and his skin turned a pale grey, a strong wind was eminating from the Death God’s body. The light from the firey pendant seemed to make the Dark Elves back off, it seemed to hurt them. “You have no power here, Servant of Svartalfheim!” Instead of being it’s normally calm and collected tone, his voice boomed with rage. “You are nameless!” Fenrir spat, the light shining brighter as the shadowy mist and it’s inhabitants were forced back by it. “Shapeless!” He continued, the light pulsing from the pendant and causing further damage. “Formless!” Another pulse hit the dark shadows, they seemed to be having difficulty holding their form against the magical attack. “Go back into the void from where you came!” From the green fire shot several fireballs which exploded, destroying the mist and the figures. Saburo’s eyes returned to normal and he collapsed to his knees, clearly tired. “They’re specters... Transient ghosts clinging to this world with undying hatred, the only thing preventing them from passing on.”

Wolves in Dreams
The significance of wolves in dreams, and primarily, one being attacked by a wolf or pack of wolves, can represent the person being insecure about their place in the community or internal insecurities they may have lurking in the subconscious mind. In the wild, it is known for young male wolves to be abused and bullied by the rest of the pack, as it builds character. It allows the wolf to develop from a young, weak individual to a ‘lone wolf’. What I find most curious is that, I am deeply insecure and have been for most of my life. And this has been a source of pain and weakness for me for years. My reoccurring dream of being attacked by the wolf may have been the subconscious part of myself telling me that the world was cruel, and I needed to grow as a person before I could truly succeed in life. Without this obscene cruelty, I may not have developed into a determined and independent individual. Additionally, the wolf in my dream could represent anger that has taken the form of a wolf, the representation of power and strength, and has outwardly and openly attacked me in a place where I felt safe. To be swallowed by this thing, to be engulfed into the belly of the beast as it were, I would be consumed by the same anger and internal hatred it had for myself. I think it is strange. That in my head, the wolf is inside me, thriving within and in my dream, it consumes me, and I am inside it. It is a vicious cycle. I do not think either one of us could survive without one another.
Wolves in Mythology and Media
In Norse mythology and culture, the wolf represented both good and evil aspects. For example, in their poems and tales of the apocalyptic event referred to as Ragnarok, the great beast Fenrir will break from his chains and devour the sun and then swallow Odin, the king of the gods, whole as well as biting off the Týr, the god of war’s, hand. Additionally, by Odin’s he has two wolves, Skoll and Hati, who both respectively chase each other across the sky and are manifestations of the sun and the moon.
Wolves also influenced Old Norse culture, many scriptures refer to berserkers, animal-like men who become entranced in battle, able to use the power of animal pelts to help them become a fearless warrior.  Those that wore wolf pelts were called ‘Úlfhéðnar’ - Wolf Warriors - they were described as Odin’s warriors.
"[Odin's] men went without their mailcoats and were mad as hounds or wolves, bit their shields...they slew men, but neither fire nor iron had effect upon them. This is called 'going berserk'."   Davidson, Hilda R.E. (1978). Shape Changing in Old Norse Sagas. Cambridge: Brewer; Totowa: Rowman and Littlefield.
Winston Churchill
When discussing my preproduction development with a friend of mine, he suggested I research Winston Churchill and his ‘black dog’. I was, at first, sceptical. As I believed that, though the propaganda and general history surrounding Churchill paints him as a ‘true British hero’, there is records of this Prime Minister being rampantly racist and sexist - who wasn’t exactly anti-fascism as he caused a similar Holocaust in India in the same century. This goes against a lot of my values, however when researching Churchill I found that we had a similarity.
Churchill would always refer to his manic depression as his ‘Black Dog’. This justly took me aback momentarily. As I had always seen my mental health issues as such, personified in a canid form and would be by my side almost constantly. And as would this man. This strange anomaly, this wretched coincidence was there for me to see in my own monologue, my own storyboard and designs.
For example, I have a scene where I leap out in front of a moving train - a metaphorical way of conveying attempts I had taken on my own life. The train can be seen in the scene from my childhood, where I am looking out my window. Showing how a train of thought, such as suicidal tendencies can be overlooked, even when depression is right there.
Churchill experienced ‘The Call of the Void’ or ‘l’appel du vide’, a feeling defined as wanting to do something that could end it all in a moment.
“I don’t like standing near the edge of a platform when an express train is passing through. I like to stand back and, if possible, get a pillar between me and the train. I don’t like to stand by the side of a ship and look down into the water. A second’s action would end everything. A few drops of desperation.” Winston Churchill
Additionally, he discussed colours returning when his dog was ‘away’, meaning he found happiness when the manic episodes subsided. This separation of colour showing happiness and dullness representing depression can be seen within my own work. As a child I am surrounded by bold and bright colours but as I progress into depression as I age, the colour is drained from my storyboard.
“I think this man might be useful to me – if my black dog returns. He seems quite away from me now – it is such a relief. All the colours come back into the picture.” Winston Churchill
