One of the field operations discords ran a DRS marathon run this past weekend. I decided to wear the shadowbringers machinist outfit. I didn't manage to get into any of the core runs or the overflows. They just filled so fast. (No worries, there will be another time and I watched the live stream to get an idea of what the future holds for me)
BUT I did get this very lovely shot in golden hour in Tuliyollal.
The colour and the light. So lovely. So happy I caught golden hour.

Hi all! I managed to jinx myself by saying there wasn't a lot to add to the Compendium this week... and then I found a tonne of resources. I can't say I'm complaining about looking like a fool, though! 🪸
A lot of these resources were shamelessly sourced by xiv.sleepyshiba's masterlist! While I tend to endeavour to provide general / creative resources, their master list does contain a lot of discords / guides you can check out around raiding, combat guides, PVP etc. I might have missed. Send them a coffee if you want, for their kit is pretty comprehensive!
I have tried to include sources I can see have been actively maintained but I can't promise all are 100% accurate or up to date. If in doubt, send me a DM.
Additionally, due to the fact I am slowly increasing my collection, the Compendium has expanded its sections from four to five! We now have a dedicated lore section for anyone who wants to learn more about the game. 📖 I'm hoping this will encourage people to write and submit their lore compilations knowing that people will see them.
However, without further adieu, as of 05/11, the following resources have been added (in no particular order) to Sea's Community Compendium for XIV Creatives!
LARGE SCALE
Eorzea Collection — A one-stop shop for everything gear and glamour related! Browse through gear sets, fashion accessories or individual pieces of gear; view player-made glamorous for any job, race, etc; view chocobo sets and more!
A Master Beginners Guide to FFXIV — A comprehensive document of useful information for anyone looking to get into FFXIV. While accurate only up to Shadowbringers, it includes basic how-to's and general information relevant for people brand new to the game.
FFXIV Venues — A repository of various player-submitted venues open to the public and times of their events!
Aether Roleplay Hub — A discord focusing on roleplay and the roleplayers of the Aether data centre.
Tales From — Every expansion, the Final Fantasy XIV Dev Team releases a series of short stories about the various peoples’, tribes, factions and key characters called Tales From the ___.
Mirapri — Functionally similar to Eorzea Collection, this site accepts player-submitted glamorous for ideas and inspiration. Appears to be predominately used by the Japanese player base.
Akhmorning — A collection of XIV resources containing things one might find the miscellaneous section such as A Comfy Guide for Sprouts and Raiding Fundamentals; Bozja guides including Southern Front, Castrum Lacus Litore, Delubrum Reginae and more; PVP guides including, but not limited to Introduction to Frontlines and Beginners Guide to Feast; and Job guides.
Heavenswhere — Having trouble finding just where your treasure map is located? This tool will help you narrow down the search!
Fashion Reporter — Official Discord server of Kaiyoko and the Fashion Reporter discord bot. Also contains links to access the Fashion Report each week and the How to Make MGP guide.
FFXIV Clock — A tool to track the spawn timers of timed gathering nodes.
LORE
Ishgardian Forms of Address — A document that explores the honorifics, and forms of address used in the in-game setting of Ishgard and by Ishgardian characters using using in-game dialogue, quest text, levequest text and information from the second printing of the English-language lore book, Encyclopedia Eorzea. Maintained by @hasty-touch!
Final Fantasy XIV Lore: Ishgard — also written by @hasty-touch, this document contains lore relating to Ishgard and Coerthas.
Ascian Reference Pile — An up-to-date reference on FFXIV's Convocation of Fourteen, in appearance and lore. Maintained by Igeyorhm on Twitter.
Eorzea Time — The measurement and expression of time in Eorzea, like the real world, is governed by a fundamental set of rules. To understand them, users on Gamer Escape have put together a handy guide for people to follow.
FFXIV Meals Catalogue & Compendium — Have you ever wanted to know all foods currently contained in XIV? This document has a record of all consumable meal items obtained up to 5.4 and the ingredients used to make them. Maintained by vashiane on Twitter.
MISC
Detailed XIV World Map — Have you ever wondered where locations sit in relation to the entirety of Etheirys (and beyond)? This detailed world map provides accurate locals and information for you!
XIV SleepyShiba — Maintained by Udra Virias, this website is a repository of all their resources including, but not limited to; The Detailed XIV World Map, 6x. Paladin Resources, hotbar builders and BiS/gear trackers for raiding, and their own XIV Resources Masterlist!
FFXIV — Hairstyles — Having trouble remembering what Modern Aesthetic style is which? Struggling to find that one hairstyle you saw in game but you don’t know where it’s from? This guide has you covered!
Obscura's consolidation of Helpful links for Roleplay — A collection of tips, tricks and guides to assist people looking into getting into FFXIV RP — or just roleplay in general! Contained within are resources around character creation, relationships, roleplay tips, how to write villains and more.
FFXIV Reference Sheets by Ren — Maintained by @renofmanyalts, these reference sheets currently contain a sortable Roegadyn dictionary and height chart for all the race/clan combinations currently in game.
FFXIV Armoury Collection — exactly what it says on the tin — a collection of every single gear set currently available in FFXIV sorted by things such as patches, class, jobs and raids.
How to Craft like a Machine — This document covers the crafting formulae and other related aspects of crafting in Final Fantasy XIV.
MakePlace — A stand alone tool to preview, edit and share housing layouts.
FFXIV Chocobo Racing — a blog that’s designed to be a comprehensive guide to the Chocobo Racing minigame.
Lord of Verminion — A comprehensive website for everything to do with the Gold Saucer minigame Lord of Verminion.
The Easy Win Lord of Verminion Guide — An easy way to maximise your MGP using the Lord of Verminion.
FFXIV Housing Grade by Plot — A rubric to assist people in understanding the pricing of FFXIV houses.
Housing NPC Images — Not sure what housing NPC looks like? This guide may be able to help you!
FFXIV Fishing Guides — A Final Fantasy XIV Fisher creating guides on how to fish all the fish of The Source and The First, in quick, goldfish sized videos. Making FFXIV fishing easier to do and understand.
Pigeon's Guide to XIV Screenshots — A guide created by @ahollowgrave detailing their screenshot process for FFXIV.
REMOVALS
The following communities have been removed from the Compendium as their sites/tumblrs no longer exist. If new links exist, please get in touch with me and I will re-add them.

CHANGELOG
The Compendium has been updated for compatibility with Google Doc's built-in document outline! This should hopefully assist with accessibility issues. ✨ You can find it by clicking the button below on the left-hand side of the document. No one had made a comment about this, I'm just pedantic.
I have also added definition around the Lore category as well as some general sentence structure and definition in other sections.
Have I missed something? Probably, this update was huge. I'm going to take a break DFKGJHSDF.
Want to submit? You can either fill out the google form here, send me an ask with the relevant information contained on the Compendium, or join my Discord at SEAFLOOR (21+ only)!

You know...I took the entire last raid tier off from FFXIV. I was so burnt out. I couldn't even look at it. I got to such a peak with what I was doing on an individual level that I've got an orange aDPS parse in P5S (that's the one that's just your damage and your own buffs, mostly good for tracking rotation improvements). For the more common rDPS metric I had straight purples. That was without any parse runs and a not-hardcore group. I literally could not get a better parse under those circumstances and I kept beating my head on trying anyway until I wasn't even tolerable to be around.
I'm actually excited about Dawntrail? I'm cleaning out my inventory a bit (major feat, I've been playing since ARR and I have five retainers). I did something like three runs of Delubrum Reginae last night with my partner because they want to finish a relic and I just love Bozja that much.
I'm so tempted to spend some time in Eureka farming bunny boxes alone while everyone else is leveling and doing Dawntrail...
It feels nice to be able to be back. I'm not sure if I want to raid yet or not, but I'll play it by ear (aka if someone I know needs a dancer/ranged phys, I'm in, lol). Whatever the case though at least I know I proved whatever I thought I needed to with my numbers, and I'm a lot better at spotting burnout in myself and others now.
See, the difference between burnout and no burnout is that I couldn't even remember what I used to do for fun outside raiding, and it didn't sound fun if I did remember. Then I quit, slept for a while, eventually got my shit back together, and suddenly horked up an entire novel—of fanfic, but that counts—within 4 months, and then another in another 4 months. (Tellingly, both of them plus the third one I'm working on are about a lot of things, but they're all heavily about the devastating mental effects of burnout.) Now I'm like, do I even want to raid, if I could be doing all this other cool stuff? And yeah, kind of. My FC and our friends had a huge photoshoot to say goodbye to Endwalker and it reminded me of what's good about raiding: shooting the shit, laughing when things explode, being social around people on a schedule. I got way too focused on the math and not the people.
Slightly in my defense, it is hard to keep your head up when you run the same content for that many months. We cleared P4S week 31 and P8S week 34, if I'm remembering right. But also, absolutely not in my defense, until I intentionally took a short break during the P8S slog I had missed one single raid day since the second tier of Eden, and that was only because I'd had top surgery the literal day before and couldn't hold the controller yet for long enough without it seriously hurting. By the next raid night I was already back in it. I've never had perfect attendance in anything so that was a very hard record to let go of. What I needed was to let it the fuck go about six months before I actually did.
Anyway I'm literally just rambling because that's what I do, but I'm excited to be back. I think I'll level pictomancer because yeah, everyone is, but that's fun too. Bandwagons can be good or people wouldn't get on them. Dancer has been my main since Shadowbringers dropped and one of my favorite memories is still spending hours rolling over the Gyr Abanian maps with a bunch of half-dancer, half-gunbreaker fate trains like a steamroller covered in blenders and bayonets, laughing with strangers. I'm hoping pictomancer and viper will be that way too. It was good shit and I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a slightly late start because I've got a friend visiting through Friday, but that's fine. The point is friends anyway, and I need to remember that this time.

Top 5 FFXIV Boss Fights. Dungeon, Trial, Raid, Solo Story, whatever.
5. Hydaelyn. The ambiance, the music, the way her fighting style is equal parts divinity and adventurer, how she switches weaponry and basically just creates a fully complete and integrated experience of everything you've faced so far: Stack markers, spread markers, line of sight, add phase, DPS checks, radial AoEs, donut AoEs, she has absolutely everything. I'm a huge fan of integral test-type bosses, bosses that expressly are trying to test you on fundamentals and everything else you've seen and used at least once so far. 4. Tsukuyomi. Tsukuyomi will always have a place in my heart because it was in this fight that I actually enjoyed playing FFXIV for the first time; before Tsukuyomi, I enjoyed reading FFXIV, but I markedly did not enjoy the gameplay at all with very marked exceptions. The moment the music kicks up and Tsukuyomi starts pulling out the big mechanics, with lots of mobility, colors, coordinated play, and all of that jazz, it was legit the first time I kinda just woke up from Reading Mode and had to actually engage in the systems of the game, and what a wonderful fight to wake up during! 3. The Diablo Armament. Not only is it a really funny "HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD MAN" moment, it fucking slaps. The music is great, it's at the end of my favorite content in the game, you overcame a LOT of challenges to get to it, and now you fight yet another wholly unique boss with a lot of funny tricks up his sleeve. The first time I managed to fully dodge the Diabolic Gate -> Ruinous Pseudomen -> Ultimate Pseudoterror combo, I legitimately felt so proud of myself. 2. Warrior of Light. The reason I finally said to myself, fine, ok, I'll play an MMO, fine, was because I was jamming out to random autoplay in Youtube while doing something else, and then this absolute turbobanger starts going off and I'm like damn ok what the FUCK is this from, so I check, and not only is it FFXIV (which a lot of friends already played), it was apparently the theme of John Final Fucking Fantasy I himself? In his Amano design? So that made me REALLY curious and I committed to finding out What It Did. The fight slaps harder than the fist of an angry god and it has my second favorite moment in the entire game, when Elidibus basically summons a party of FFIV characters and hits me with "Mankind's first hero, and his final hope!" which lives rent free in my mind forever. 1. Lyon's second duel, in Zadnor. The last thing I did before I stopped playing was finish up 100%ing Bozja content, which meant defeating the 6 superboss 1 on 1 duels in Bozja and Zadnor. Of the six, Lyon 2 was the hardest and most fun. Learning his fight was a trial and a half, he is REALLY damn hard and demanding, but I consider it my greatest achievement to have beaten him, because holy moly macaroni those Hearts of Nature and the Caged Heart of Nature into Cross Bombs gets Very Intense to dodge all while maintaining rotation for the strict DPS check. Lyon is also a really cool character #TACTICSOGREGANG
If I can include a number 6, Dun Scaith, expressly due to Deathgaze Hollow. It's SUCH a mean fucking fight to open with and it's a fight in which you IMMEDIATELY can know Who Knows, actual comedy gold. I would also include my favorite instance bar none, Delubrum Reginae, but I prioritized single encounters over overall dungeons or instances.

delubrum reginae was easily THE most fun i'd had playing ffxiv while it was still current content.
that aside though, one thing i really like to reminisce about is that, because it was a 30 player raid with no class restrictions (meaning you could bring anything you want) many tank classes didn't want to actually tank, thinking someone else would pick it up.
and so i, a monk,
#you could choose special buffs to bring in with you#including those that let you tank while Not being a tank class#not once had i ever taken those#And Yet

Seeking Bojza DR Help
NEXT Saturday (May 13th) a few people in my FC are tentatively hoping to clear the Bojza duty Delubrum Reginae, the 1-24 man duty that unlocks weekly quests for gold coins and the second region, Zadnor.
We've poked at it before but three of the four of us have some chronic health issues and DR is... intense. If you've only got a small party. Which has made it hard to get through the whole thing before we hit that pain threshold and have to stop.
Even thought there's a 10 min queue built in, this is fairly obscure content with quite a few steps to unlock. So there's just not that many people running DR on a whim and we can't usually expect randos to end up with us to help
So I'm putting feelers out to see if anyone would like to join us next week! I THINK that since world visiting is now a thing, anyone can team up, but I'm not 100% sure. At the very least folks in the Crystal DC should have no issues?
We're pretty chill, casual players but all four of us have cleared MSQ and have at least a couple classes up to 90, one of us is a Mentor - we're experienced! Plus we've got a tank and a healer, so you'd be welcome to play any class you like.
We're looking for friendly, patient folks to help us out! It will PROBABLY happen somewhere around 2-5pm US Eastern time - we really only have this window due to the wide time zone spread of our group, sorry!
If you don't have Bojza unlocked, it's a bit time consuming but not too difficult and has some really cool rewards. You'll have to rank up a bit to reach DR, but hopefully a week's notice gives anyone who wants to join but isn't there yet time to prep!
If you're interested, comment under this post or DM me! I'll keep the original post updated as much as I can with how we're doing on numbers, so if you're coming from a reblog, give the main post a look!
Currently at: 17/24 (possibly 18/24) @/skostoflight @/tallbluelady @/chiclet-go-boom @/thelongestway @/sinus-lacrimarum @/ashenbun @/meatball-headache @/meganemaryam @/shadowmoses (+3-4) @/dire-catgirl
Maybes: 8 @/boggleoflight @/thorneyes @/eorzeashan @/meeshster @/shebaa
Reserve:

If we fill up a party I'm happy to keep adding others to sit in reserve in case someone can't make it, but ofc can't guarantee we'll be able to fit everyone into the run. Thank you all so much for the interest! ;w;
Also turning reblogs off since we have so many maybes now!

Delubrum Reginae
Bozja Delubrum Reginae - I just started Bozja after the Moogle tomestone event asked us to do a CE. Oh man, this is fun and beautiful content. I had started it pre-Dawntrail but got confused about where to go and forgot about it.
I did DR with party finder and it was super fun and everyone is so nice and patient to explain the fights to us first timers. (I did take a moment to read over the fights too.) Even years in FFXIV I still worry about raids like I did in WoW. I did enjoy the temperature mechanic, or that one time (maybe more) I survived doom because I didn't fail mechanics twice in 2 minutes.
