Tank Stance Musings

Okay, so from a STORY perspective, what/how do we think the Tank stances actually... Well, how do they work? As in, story wise, what is it that makes the enemies focus solely on the tank instead of blasting the DPS or the healer to pieces instead? Do we have any canon lore about it at all?

Because at one hand it's funny to imagine a tank just starting to yell at the enemies to get their attention, but at the other hand that kind of makes it so tanks can only be loud instead of silent guardians. Doesn't fit the bill.

I guess we could call it some kind of magic as well, forcing the enemies to focus on the Tank? Because sometimes bosses turn around and blast something behind themselves as well, so with the stance being some kind of magic/spell in mind, it would in theory make it that bosses which randomly turns around at times are simply the ones strong enough to break out of control long enough to try and hit the others as well. (Which could work).

Anyway, do you all have any working ideas of how the tank stances work from a story perspective?
