Alphatauri began sponsoring F1, not the FIA, in 2022. Those are not the same thing. Sponsoring F1, the franchise, is questionable for reasons I'll get to later, but it's different from sponsoring the governing body that makes and enforces the rules and regulations.
Now, in 2024, Alphatauri, which is no longer a team on the grid but still owned by Redbull, decides to expand that partnership into the FIA because apparently, it's been going so well with F1. This is odd because we still don't have an understanding of what exactly Alphatauri or Redbull is getting out of this deal. Aston Martin and Mercedes, who pay F1, not the FIA, to advertise their brands via the safety cars to millions of people who watch the races to gain customers, Alphatauri gets no exposure based on the fact that we hardly ever see the stewards, race director or any FIA or F1 personnel in uniforms on screen. So, what was Alphatauri getting out of the deal for the past 3 years and what will they be getting out of it in the future? Good Samaritan points? I don't think so. They also say its going to be featured prominently at the Prize Giving Gala moving forward, which no one cares about outside of the meme material it provides. So, is Alphatauri just manufacturing gear for F1 and the FIA out of the goodness of their hearts? Every decision made in this sport is a quid pro quo, I get suspicious when I can't clearly identify what someone is getting out of it.
I fully understand that F1 is incestuous and a septic breeding ground for conflicts of interest. That doesn't mean that when we get slapped in the face by yet another conflict of interest, we ignore it rather than examining it further.
Also, because I'm sure it will come up, read why Mclaren Applied provides SECUs to the rest of the grid here:

Firstly, please remember that my tagging system is for my use. I'm very happy when my blogs help people find stuff! But their first function is to help me find stuff. <3 1. If you’re looking for a specific race, the tag format is [location] [year]. For example, #hungary 2016 or #usa 2019. -> Azerbaijan is listed as Baku. -> Countries with multiple races will be tagged as both the country and track (for example, Spain and Valencia/Jerez/Barcelona, Germany and Hockenheim/Nurburg). -> European GP content is tagged as both European and the name of the track, either Valencia or Baku. -> Where possible, days are also tagged. So, for example, #monaco 2019 thursday. 2. If you’re looking for just a specific year, the format is either #flashback fic ref [year] or #fic ref [year]. #flashback fic ref is any year before 2021. #fic ref is for 2021 onward. 3. If you’re looking for just a specific track, that’s tagged too! Just search the country. 4. On a quest for other racing-related content but not from F1 race weekends, you say? -> Pre-season and post-season tags! For example, #pre-season 2012 or #post-season 2009. -> Testing, specifically, is also tagged! The format is testing [year], like #testing 2018. -> Race of Champions? Goes by year, and is listed under both “roc” and “race of champions”. For example, #roc 2008 or #race of champions 2011. 5. Things he does in his capacity as an F1 driver, but not strictly racing-related? -> The FIA gala is listed under both “fia gala” and “fia prize giving”. Examples: #fia gala 2018 or #fia prize giving 2011. -> Autosport Awards / Laureus World Sports Awards / German Sportspersonality of the Year -> Charity soccer games: Partita del Cuore / Kick Fur Kinder / Champions For Charity 6. And, of course, non-racing-related content: -> The format is [year] not a race. For example, #2007 not a race. -> If you’d like a specific time period during a season, it’s separated by what races it fell between. For example, #between japan and usa 2018. -> Summer break 2022! 7. Feeder series! -> Formula BMW ADAC (all) / Formula BMW ADAC 2003 / Formula BMW ADAC 2004 -> Formula 3 (all) / Formula 3 2005 / Formula 3 2006 -> Formula Renault 3.5 8. All under-18 content is tagged as #childhood photos. 9. Relationships (not taking requests to add to this): -> Sewis -> Smick / With Mick (underage) -> George Russell -> Michael Schumacher 10. Important! On the website version of Tumblr, you can combine search items. This is immensely helpful for finding specific things! -> So, for example, if you open search and type in "hungary 2022, smick" it’ll only pull up Smick content from the Hungarian GP. :) -> Or “flashback fic ref 2011, autosport awards” -> Or “testing 2013, jerez” 11. Trigger tags I commonly use: * These are either for my use or by request and are not up for discussion or debate. If you need something added, please drop me a dm or ask to let me know. 💚 -> #tw max (verstappen) -> #tw transphobe (webber) -> #tw nico (rosberg) -> #tw kimi (raikkonen) -> #tw bernie ecclestone -> #tw helmut marko -> #tw christian horner -> #tw dietrich mateschitz -> #tw crash -> #tw death -> #tw body perception -> #tw food / #cw food This is a pretty exhaustive list, but if you need help or are confused, feel free to contact me! <3

WATCH LIVE: Tune in to see Max Verstappen and Red Bull claim their title trophies at the FIA Prize Giving gala
Max Verstappen and Red Bull enjoyed a record-breaking season in 2022 as the Dutchman raced to 15 Grand Prix victories – more than any other driver has ever achieved in a single campaign – on his way to the world championship title. Sergio Perez took two more wins as Red Bull sealed their first constructors’ championship since 2013, finally breaking Mercedes’ stranglehold on the crown. WATCH: From Leclerc battles to comeback wins – The best moments from Verstappen’s record-breaking season And tonight, Verstappen and Red Bull will be awarded the championship trophies they worked so hard to win across the whole season, at the FIA Prize Giving gala. Held this year in Bologna, Italy, the event will be hosted by the Automobile Club d’Italia, and will honour champions from every major branch of international motor sport. The event will also be broadcast live across the FIA’s social channels for the first time, and you can watch it all right here, in the video player above, from 9.30pm CET (8.30pm GMT). FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “I’m very pleased that the 2022 FIA Prize Giving, my first as FIA President, will take place in Bologna, in a glorious motor sport area, Motor Valley. We are thankful to the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI), Regione Emilia-Romagna and the Italian Trade Agency for hosting us, and to our partners Rolex, Hankook, Brembo, Marelli, OMP and Bell for their full support. “I look forward to celebrating the 2022 champions and sharing this great event with all motor sport fans on the FIA channels.” via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

speaking of this tumblr age, did we ever talked how they had exclusives to the st. barts pap pics? how?
Yeah, there was a misunderstanding that ended up in a small argument lol. I think the account owner has a license or smth to have access to them, so it’s nothing weird.

Max wins the 2022 World Driver's Championship. It doesn't even need to go to Abu Dhabi like last year, there's no disputes. The best driver, the best car by a mile.
At the FIA prize giving ceremony, they announce he and Kelly are expecting, with her onstage in her long sparkly gown, holding a nonexistent bump and Max is positively glowing.
Daniel downs his drink from his table and claps with the rest of them. He remembers when Daniil used to his seat mate at these things, the joke being put the Danys together. And now, he never sees the guy.
There's a gala, song and dance and tiny finger food the whole shebang. Max is swamped with congratulations, and Daniel waits for his turn. The clandestine grandiosity of the hall and everyone lining up to congratulate Max was a bit like greeting royalty. Even though Daniel had been to these types of awards and galas so many times they blurred into one by the end of the end, he is trying to remember this one, commit it to memory.
"They say the second kid's always easier than the first." Daniel points at the trophy at Max's hand and jokes. The long list of WDCs past names engraved on it, a bunch of Lewis, Max twice -- his own, never to grace it. He opens his arms for a hug. "Congratulations, man. On the fatherhood."
Max grins sheepishly, leaving it to rest on the display table and hugging Daniel back, one sided and quick, perfunctory, before letting go. "Thanks, mate. It's so unreal. But I'm happy, we're really happy." And Max does look happy, he has this big faraway grin like he can't contain all that joy inside of him. It suits him.
His voice turns a touch softer. "Gonna miss you on the grid. One of the few people with decent music taste there."
Daniel doesn't want to think about the next year, the reason why everyone looks at him with those sad, pitying eyes. "Being able to eat whatever I want and sleeping in on weekends? Nah man, bring it on. I'm hyped." He grins with too many teeth, the Daniel Ricciardo special.
Max smiles at him but it's one that sees right through the act. He makes an aborted motion to politely end the conversation and leave, and Daniel panics -- if this is really the last time, the last time in a while they're both active drivers at the FIA awards, he wants it to mean something. To have something to hold on to.
"Can I have a dance?" Daniel asks, and once upon a time the words would've been smoother, the yes assumed before it was given; easy swagger. Now it just sounds hopeful with wide eyes. Max is surprised but recovers quickly, nodding, as he leaves the trophy on the shelf and head to the floor.
It's nothing scandalous, everyone dances with everyone. Daniel remembers Max's first ever gala, awkward and knobby at 17 who could drive like nobody's business but got red at the idea of a waltz. Daniel taught him -- guiding him, teaching him how to lead, it's the sort of thing that's a big hit with the ladies being able to pull off a successful dip. He was so used to being Max's firsts, he's not sure when it turned into counting his lasts.
Max is 25, and confident in his steps now, lopsided bowtie and steady hand on his back; broad shoulders he's grown into. He's going to be a father now. Wasn't that something? "Maxy, all grown up now." Daniel crooned.
"Don't feel like it always."
This was probably the last time he'd ever hold Max this close. Not that he was expecting him to come running into his arms, but there's something about Max starting the family he's always wanted that really cemented everything else shut. He'd been hanging around like a satellite, waiting for Max to send a signal, to need him to spin for him. What had he said again, 'if it's not going to be me, I'm glad it's him.' He was happy for Max winning the WDC, since it's not him -- never going to be him again. A few years ago he'd die than admit those words, in fact, a few years he did leave than have to admit that. And now he can say it freely.
Max is never going to need him again. Satellites fall over from planned obsolescence. Daniel doesn't have a seat anymore, in the only job he's ever wanted or been qualified for. He's not retiring, the word too official -- too definitive, when he has still have hope he can come back after a year. He's just... between jobs at the moment. The song and dance ends, Max's touch lingers on his waist and then it's gone.
"You better tear it up in Texas next year, I'm gonna be betting big stacks on ya." Daniel grins at Max, stepping back and letting him go.
Max looks a little surprised. "Texas? Not Australia?"
Daniel thinks of his home race, that crowd who will be cheering for a different Aussie in his old seat. Chewed up and spit out like Webber. The thought hurt too much, going back home. Daniel always did have commitment issues like that.
"Nah, you know me. I'm all about freedom, baby, U-S-A."
His agent was selling his Monaco apartment and looking for something for permanent in Montana. Maybe with a little ranch too.
Goodbyes are awkward, and Daniel despite being a seasoned pro at leaving still didn't know how to leave with grace. Kelly finds her way to Max, and they really did make a striking couple. The line around Max started forming naturally again, everyone wanting a piece of the World Champion.
"I'll see you around, yeah?"
And with that, Daniel Ricciardo leaves the final FIA gala of his career.
