urgent commissions - i’m homeless

little more serious post. i dont use tumblr too often so forgive me for any mistakes i make here lol. i am homeless and my job is barely enough to get me by, sometimes not enough.

the tldr of the situation is a relative mistreated my grandma, my mother, and i very poorly, and i eventually left after her transphobia towards me became too much for me to handle. the last couple months i’ve been in shelters.

my job is barely enough to pay for my necessities let alone save to get on my feet given the hours. finding a new job will be very hard / will make things harder given numerous aspects of my situation.

i don’t want to turn this into a rant but i work and live in a shelter, the only bills i have are for my health insurance and phone, yet i’m still barely making it by. what a world, huh?

anyway, i’m mostly advertising for bust paintings, which i can do for $15 and will likely get done same day or between 2-3 days.

they’ll look most like the first two images of the elf and purple girl, and the full body drawing i have on this post. the other art examples are more sketch-like, but i could lean more into those styles as per request!

if you’d like a half or full body, message me and we can work it out! depending on my schedule i may or may not accept, but i’d love to hear you out!

anyway, i’ll draw whatever honestly, just nothing uncomfortable. i’m all good with NSFW requests and the like, i just only draw humanoids!

this is a worthwhile point. i decided not to scrape scpper because frankly, the site is fucking unbearably slow (for example: i literally haven't been able to load anything but the main page in the entire time i've been writing this post), and scraping the mainsite already took multiple days. i could ask fiftynine to send me a copy of the scpper's voting data, but there's no guarantee he'd respond or be willing/able to actually do so, and also i kind of don't want to bother him about this because it's really stupid.

as for whether the remaining info is still relevant -- i think that's subjective. i'd say a vast majority of the articles that have been deleted are so different from anything that's stayed on the site that i don't think one's opinion of them is particularly relevant. i don't think someone's dislike of watching paint dry would change how i value their tv show recommendations, and i don't feel too bad discounting whether people chose to express that they disliked "spc xxxx is goku but he refuses treats".

it's also worth asking how much data is actually lost here. scpper's main page, a few days after i posted my essay, listed 2_470_154 upvotes and 226_567 downvotes; presumably, this includes deleted articles. the data i was working with had 2_097_287 upvotes and 194_223 downvotes. so i ended up with about 85% of the data. perhaps i'm biased by my background (read: bachelor's degree) in the social sciences, but having 85% of all the relevant existing data seems pretty alright to me? if it was more like 75% then i'd be a bit concerned about integrity, but i'm looking at a very solid majority of all the votes ever cast on the wiki. it's also worth pointing out that these figures from scpper also include votes on pages i deliberately excluded from my analysis (like author pages), and again, a lot of the missing votes are on the obviously bad articles i don't find particularly interesting.

still, there are plenty of deleted articles that did have enough merit to be worth including in my analysis, but which weren't included, so i should try to account for that. the key word here is "should" -- notably, it is not "will". thanks for your input!

Last Series: Last series I watched any part of is, as always, "Emergency!" because I will never not be stuck in 70's paramedic hell. If we're talking new-to-me shows, a friend's making me watch Grey's Anatomy (early seasons) once a week, probably because observing my growing despair about the characters' poor life choices is fun. I don't even normally watch medical shows, and yet here we are lol

Sweet, Savoury, Spicy: Savory if I had to pick

Craving: Some good spaghetti with olive oil and obscene amounts of lightly toasted garlic.

Tea/Coffee: Yes please, lol

Currently working on: OH BOY WHAT A QUESTION.

Spinning: Gotland on my spindles (4-ply, one single per spindle, for funsies - except I accidentally mixed up which bits of fiber go with which single on which spindle, so that'll be fun to sort out...), 7oz/200g of red Merino on the wheel (for a crochet hat, followed by 9.5 oz of red and black Merino for a woven scarf). But also 24.5oz/700g of grey Merino. And cotton on the supported spindle. And I've got some laceweight viscose on the mini turkish spindle that I should really work on...

Crocheting: Half a dozen things, including a lacy collar that needs buttons and blocking, a gigantic star-shaped wrap-around shawl, an incredibly boring granny square top for my little sister, and too many others to count.

Art: The Emergency! tarot as the eternal never-ending WIP; I also have some Dragon Age Veilguard related plans revolving around the Grand Necropolis and irl Catacomb Saints and I'd love to get some DA-style tarot cards done for all my player characters.

Writing: I still have a couple unfinished fanfics that need another chapter, as well as two deeply self-indulgent OC/Emergency! crossovers that friends are making me write, and I also have some Dragon Age stuff in the works - though if anyone will ever see that is another question entirely.

Music: Practicing various stuff for LARP; also slowly chipping away at Hozier's Work Song because my partner asked nicely.

We had another surge and then outage trying to bring the Power District back online for unknown reasons - this ended up damaging ARCHIVE-1 and some of the offloaded servers, and so we’ve had to manually enter or interpolate much of the missing data. You should be able to find the general gist of what… the last 300 odd days have been like.

Kieran had just gotten a new tattoo from Anchors down the road. His new pride and joy, Cynthia, from The Rugrats. Enjoying his new ink, he was feeling himself just dancing to the music from his earpod down the sidewalk. No one who saw him gave him a weird look, a second glance, or really even judged him. Maybe they did, but they never said a word. Kieran had always been like this for as long as he, or anyone, could remember. If he could walk, he could dance. If he could talk, he could spout weird thoughts at 1 in the afternoon about aliens and their plans for world domination via marble statutes held in Italy, or mixing ice cream flavors. He was a wild card so this....this was normal. What wasn’t normal was the person he almost twirled into, taking his hand instead to dance with him.
