I never was very into anime, but I’ve started looking around lately and discovered some neat stuff.

So may I suggest Super Magnetic Combattler V, Voltes V, and Fighting General Daimos?

These giant robots hail from the 1970s and are praised as the godfathers of mecha anime.

im really misssing the whole vibe of mid 2010s american weeb culture, certain animes just have a Vibe about them yk?

my only reason for not wanting 2010 American weeb culture to return is because i don’t want to relive the horror of my local con being run amok by unconsented to glomping and yaoi paddling and the homestucks smearing grey paint on everything 😹also people constantly telling me to cosplay Rangiku but thats my own baggage ajdhaksjd

but i do get it i miss less the culture and more the quality of anime itself. last decade of anime imo has been a lot of misses

News - Last night, Discotek announced a slew of new acquisitions, one of the biggest ones being Kodocha (aka Kodomo no Omocha)--with all the music intact! This is huge news, considering the previous attempt to release it by Funimation was missing much of it’s original soundtrack, thanks to tight control over the music rights by Johnny’s, the agency controlling the rights to many of the artists’ music.

Other big licenses announced includes Lupin III Part 3, the English dub & original Japanese Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics series (made popular from it’s airing on Nickelodeon in the 90s), the Yoshikazu Yasuhiko film Arion, and several super robot series, including Video Warrior Laserion, Future Robo Daltanias, and Fighting General Daimos. Discotek Media has announced that it has licensed Kodocha, KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple, Video Warrior Laserion, Future Robo Daltanious, Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics, Mahoraba ~Heartful days~, Fighting General Daimos, Lupin III: Part III, Lupin III: Return of Pycal, Black Rock Shooter, and Arion.

The company will release the entirety of the Kodochaanime series, including the middle school…

Yuki Hijiri sensei Died.

I found out about it just now>The  author of “Locke the Superman”,Yiki Hijiri sensei (超人ロック, Chōjin Rokku),passed away  from pneumonia on 30 October 2022, but it has just been announced today. He was 72.

Alongside Locke the Superman, he also had affiliated with Tadao Nagahama, being the character designer for all three Nagahama Robot Romance Trilogy entries (Combattler V, Voltes V, Daimos) as well as Daltanious.

Family name (in kanji): 聖

Given name (in kanji): 悠紀 Date of birth: 1949-12-21

His long running ,complicate manga series “Locke the Superman”  is something quite hard to have a match series.

Premise

“A quiet, charismatic, lonely and Mysterious immortal esper called "Locke the Superman",but often denies being so.His hair in natural green. It’s unknown where or when he was born, and if asked, Locke will say he does not remember. It is entirely possible this is true. The military seeks him to deal with,where a woman is ordering an army of psychics against him.

When he asked by Cornelia Prim in "Millennium of the Witch" which star Locke was from, he replied "Toa." However, it was just the name of the planet where he lived in before.

He has appeared at various times throughout the history of the galaxy, either as a direct influence, an indirect influence, or a simple observer”.*1

*1:Using his esper abilities, Locke can learn and do most things more quickly than a normal human. It is speculated he retains a youthful appearance as an excuse not to take responsibility for whatever cause he is approached for, since no one expects youths to have such responsibilities. I had watched,as a teenager,an anime based on the manga.I guess I was stunned by the intricate story and the whole way of such science fiction.All this is manga of 101 tankobon!! Rest in Peace sensei. Likely you didn’t finish it off,however you’re leaving from us having your head Up and Clear,Prideful:)

1. What color would you like to dye your hair?

None. I really like my hair color, and I would have to bleach it dead for any other color to take hold on it. Purely theoretically though, I like the idea of blue hair.

2. What is the current nail polish you’re wearing? (if you wear nail polish)

I don’t wear nail polish.

3. Do you get into fights?

Actually, not at all.

4. What’s the weirdest nickname someone has given to you? Do you like it?

Hmm, I never had nicknames.

5. Favorite tv show from childhood? (because they somehow become a part of you as you grow up)

When I was 10 or so, Japanese anime appeared on TV, and it was a life-changing experience for me. I especially loved Tōshō Daimos (super oldie mecha anime about Earth fighting aliens with a Romeo-and-Juliet romance subplot). It was simply mind-boggling to me that someone treated their child audience seriously enough to touch such ‘adult’ themes in a kids’ series. I felt finally taken seriously and was so immensely grateful for that. And that experience shaped my conviction that anime as a medium is willing to touch deeper and more significant topics than any other mass-media products.

6. Ice cream or smoothies?

Ice cream! But only if it’s chocolate.

7. Sketching or coloring?

I don’t do arts, but if anything then sketching. (I used to sketch Witcher fanarts on the notebooks margins at school 20 years ago, but I never, ever coloured anything.)

8. Can you sing for your life?

Ha! Not only for my life! I can sing to successfully lull asleep a hyperactive two year-old displaying behaviours that at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd glimpse remind you of symptoms of rabies. No, I love children, why do you ask? This is actually how I discovered that not only I can sing, but I actually enjoy it.

9. Do you have a pet? Do you want more?

I have a pet bird. He is a relic of very, very different times, when I still thought that having birds at home is okay (now I don’t). He is 3rd generation born at my place, and he is the last. With the death of his partner over a year ago, I decided to finally break the endless cycle and not buy him another mate, because otherwise it would go on forever... It was a heartbreaking decision, because I was condemning him to loneliness, but I was honestly thinking that he is nearing the end of his natural life span anyhow so his solitude wouldn’t be long. But it’s been a year and a half and he is in great health. For the record - he has an entire room for himself, with different stuff to perch on, and has never in his life been closed in a cage. I tell you - it was a wonderful thing to enter the room when there were still seven of them, fluttering around you :)

The Story of DOOMGUY

Meet DOOMGUY he’s a rough and tumble marine who doesn’t take ANY SHIT. Especially when his Commanding Offices decides to open fire on civilians... So Doomguy went hog wild on his face...Thus getting court marshaled and sent the Union Aerospace Corporation on Phobos for Security detail. Now the UAC is doing experiments with Teleporters...And would’nt you know it? it connected to HELL!! So with Demons and Zombies abound DOOMGUY gets a hold of a pistol and get to work!!

After fighting through the UAC facility he comes across some demonic fortress. and after defeating two Barons of hell he find himself ambushed after taking a Teleporter. Doomguy is beaten and taken to Daimos. Where he gets a Pistol and starts goin’ to work! He fights through Daimos...which seems to be getting more and more hellish until he Encounters THE CYBERDEMON!!!...Half Cyborg, Half Demon he clashes with the DOOMGUY...And is exploded for his efforts! But all is not well! For Daimos floats Above HELL ITSELF! After exhusted all of his ammo he repels down to the Hellish Landscape below! DOOMGUY Grabs his Pistol and gets to work! As he fights through HELL ITSELF He Finds The Blast Field Generator 9000! The BFG! A BIG FUCKIN GUN!!! And continues to clean house!! Soon DOOMGUY come face to brain matter with the Spider Master Mind!! And utterly decimates it!! A Portal Opens...DOOMGUY satisfied with showin’ hell whos the man goes in...BUT! He finds that while we was ripping hell a brand new asshole the demons have Invaded earth...And they KILLED his pet rabbit Daisy! DOOMGUY decides to head back to hell and FUCK IT UP EVEN WORSE!! These fuckers are gonna regret KILLIN’ DAISY!!! SO HE MAKES THEM REGRET IT

And after all that he goes back to Earth to fight against the forces of hell! He fights through towns and city streets, including his own Home Town, he heads back into hell and Fights! THE ICON OF SIN!!! After unloading a few rockets into the things Brain he heads back home...And deals with hell ptsd for awhile... But it wasn’t over... The DOOM Episodes where declassifed...and as it turns out the UAC facilities are now being overunned by more DEMONS...Turns out a different Demon Survived! One that is causing Mutations in now Undead Demonic Hoard! The DOOMGUY is tasked to goin’ back up into space and KICK MORE DEMON ASS

After fighting into hell. He confronts the Demon Mother, The creature behind this new rise of Mutant Demons, and eradicates her from Existence!!! Surely is this the end. But DOOMGUY knows this isn’t the end!! So he stays in hell! And fights the Demons forever!! After some time of just utterly ripping and tearing Demon Guts he finds himself at Sentinel Prime! Where they put him in an arena to prove that he is a 12 on the 10 point scale of BADASSATUDE!! And Help him get over his worsened Hell PTSD... Then he stops being the DOOMGUY and becomes

DOOM SLAYER So he lays waste to MORE of the demonic threat!! Becoming the leader of the Night Sentinels he wages more war on the demons!! And then the Demons trap him in a sarcophagus, take his suit, and then leave them in a temple for hundreds of years!! Then an Expedition to Hell headed by the Chairman of the UAC Dr. Samuel Hayden, who brought about the advent of Argent Energy, finds and Brings back the sarcophagus as well the suit and numerous OTHER artifacts... AND THEN DEMONS ATTACK!!! AND THE DOOM SLAYER AWAKENS

AND HE ONCE AGAIN FIGHTS

After reclaiming the Crucible and fighting the cause of this new Invasion, Olivia Pierce, who is now the NEW Spider Mastermind! And utterly gibs her brain matter with THE BIG FUCKIN’ GUN!!

But Upon returning to UAC Samuel Hayden takes the Crucible so that Production of Argent Energy can continue! And believing that the Demonic Invasion is over...He sends DOOM SLAYER to parts unknown!!

But the Invasion isn’t over...
