lightly autumnal chamber pop with breathy vocals that probably thinks itself progressive and nearer to classical with a name like The Forest Suite, but it is treading a path ridden down by Justin Hayward, Zager & Evans, The Zombies, and more. which is nonetheless to put it in solid company. if the vocal was a little stronger and some of the guitars would resist darting off in brow-furrowing solos it would stand proudly alongside those works. as it stands it is a fine effort, peaking ahead of the outro with flutters of strings. Incredible matchup . . Buckley is a few levels below Curtis in my opinion, but it should be a banger nonetheless. A couple questions for the Mun | Accepting

➏ What’s the one thing you especially love about roleplaying your muse?

There’s a lot to love about Eirika! But I’m very happy that I decided to base my portrayal off of her Anamnesis Lady alt in Heroes. It’s not as huge a canon divergence as some others have done with their muses, but I like to think it still makes her kind of unique.

Being queen of Grado opens up opportunities for threads and interactions that she wouldn’t have had, or would have been very different, otherwise. For example, had she stayed as princess of Renais, she would always have been second fiddle to Ephraim - unintentionally so, of course, but still- a kingdom can only be governed by one monarch, not two. As queen of Grado, she is on equal footing with him and the other rulers of Magvel.

Gleipnir being dark magic also gives me opportunities to do fun stuff. Dark magic in the GBA games can get seriously messed up depending on how far down the rabbit hole you’re willing to go, and Gleipnir is one of the most powerful Dark tomes in the game. Obviously Eirika is no amateur when it comes to magic, but she’s already been affected by it in some small way. I haven’t had much of a chance to work with that yet, but it’s interesting to flesh out!

Overall, making her a little canon divergent in choice of weapon has made a big difference in how she’s written, and I love it!

the m!robin supports with chrom aren’t actually much better than the f!robin supports with chrom they just don’t rely on cringeworthy tropes.

that isn’t to say that the f!robin ones aren’t...bad, and that isn’t to say that the m!robin ones are horrible (although i admit that i don’t care for them--i find them boring, at best). but people act as if the m!robin and chrom supports add so much more depth to their relationship or something, but they...don’t. the insight into both characters is pretty much nil, since it’s all stuff that can be understood either through their other supports or through the main storyline itself, and the m!robin supports with chrom do little to move the relationship forward. 

at the end of the day, chrobin regardless of gender is good because of the storyline, and the supports don’t do much (if anything) to add to it. like if push comes to shove, i guess the m!robin supports with chrom are marginally better, but again...that’s really only because they don’t rely on cringeworthy tropes. if that’s your standard for good supports...um...idk what to tell you, honestly.

‘ How long have you been like this? ’

     He thinks one of the healers has returned for another round of questions. The fussing and fretting over his health had worn him out almost as much as the actual injury. But when Ephraim opens his eyes, he finds no one else in the room, and when his mind registers what he’s heard, he realizes it’s the voice in his own head.

     A penchant for danger, a reputation for defying the odds. The thrill of combat had always called to Ephraim. With every close call and every battle where he and his forces barely scraped by, the question came up again and again.

     Is this worth it?

     Why was the threat of danger so irresistible?

     He closes his eyes, and he’s back there on the field again. The din of battle guided his lance, the song of steel clashing against steel directed his mind. To gaze over a field of the fallen, armor heavy with the weight of triumph, was a feeling nothing could ever match.

    In the chaos of conflict, where he found sudden clarity, the choice was easy. Obvious.

     Ephraim lets a rueful smile glaze over his face.

     “It’s always been like this, hasn’t it?”

     The climb towards greatness. The struggle for success.

     “I know myself. Lance in hand, a flame in my heart, and I’m there on the plain, chasing the storm forever into the dark.”
