I don't recall uploading my Hope Estheim cosplay test here? 🥺 This is one of my main goals this year. He's one of the reasons I have this nickname now and I hope to bring more pictures of him 🥹

Throwback to 2019 when we cosplayed from FFXIII. ✨ I was cosplaying as Lightning (the pink haired one), others are not here on Tumblr. Cosplays were made by us.

Let's now talk about those boots. They were pretty simple, really.

Purchased a pair of knee high boots from ebay and cut the toes, heel backs and tops of and saved the material.

Using the cut material I sewed the belt supporting flaps for each one.

I sewed the top supporting flaps to the tops of the boots.

it took me two years to find the right rectangular studs for her boots. You can find them here: https://www.studsandspikes.com/stud-rectangle-small.html

With the studs in place it's time to put in the belts.

Took a while to match the color and texture of the boots to some vegan leather but I did it and stitched the belts.

Almost forgot the toe flaps! Also made from the scrap material from the boot tops.

There was a stitching line up the middle of fang's boots. So using a back stitch I stitched a line up the top of the boot to give this appearance.

Next I made some finishing strips for the edges of the toes. Sewed those on and added the toe flaps as well as glued some more vegan leather to the edge of the soles to give a finished look.

Same was done to the heel backs.

Using a button hole stitch I made the slits for the belts to slide through.

Sewing the buckles onto the boots, I slid the belts through the supporting flaps and there you have it! Finished boots for Fang!

So I started making a mask to cosplay Serah Farron, and so I don't have to show my face in the process:

and I figured I'd show my progress while I'm making it since it'll be a long one.

I'll be making general shapes and layers out of cardboard for sturdiness, and I'm gonna paper mache to get more details, like her nose. I was thinking of making it a whole helmet mask thing so I didn't have to get a wig which would involve spending my mom's money. But to get it to actually look good I gotta do a TON of layers, that's what's making my process so long.

The proportions are way too big on purpose so I can round out the details a bit more and then cut out or cover what I don't need when I paper mache.

I wanted to draw a really cool thing, but this was all I could manage with how exhausted I am. Instead, I shall write something.

Dear Homestuck, thank you.

Thanks for being there for me when I was alone, thanks for making me laugh and cry, thanks for being something that my friends and I cherished, and thanks for helping me be more comfortable with who I am.

I can proudly say that John Egbert is the reason I realized I was trans, he was the breaking point that caused me to really think about the fact that I am a dude.

Another thing is, i remember this memory fondly- but my friend who passed away, Corvid, and I one year- 2 days before xmas eve- stayed up late watching all the homestuck broadway music shit, and the homestuck xmas carols, and drew eachother as trolls and as the beta kids. That memory was so… awesome. And I remember us singing badly along to the songs, it was just a great night. We bonded heavily over homestuck, I even got him into it if I remember clearly. We loved that shit, and made so much art and would cosplay at the park yelling and screaming about imps- pretending we were John and Tavros. We would draw comics of our characters interacting, we would put eachother’s art up on our walls.

Homestuck, at least what I grew up with/the original web comic, is so important to me. Its a source of identity, inspiration, and reminds me of being a kid again. Which, every day I wish I could go back to be with Corvid. Go back to being kids. Go back to all the fantasy before we got traumatized. Before we parted ways for the final time- not knowing we’d never see each other again.

ALSO FOR MY 13TH BDAY PARTY IT WAS HOMESTUCK THEMED, ALL MY FRIENDS AT THE TIME DRESSED AS EVERY CHARACTER. I WAS JOHN. MY DAD WAS DRESSED AS DAD. HE MUSHED CAKE IN MY FACE. THAT IS A CORE MEMORY AND ITS SO SWEET AND!! I MISS BEING A KID SOMETIMES.

Welcome to the Overworked Blorbo Battle Preliminary Round!

Many characters were submitted for this tournament so, in order to allow as many different blorbos into the bracket as I can, I’ve had to limit them to one per series. For most, i just included the most highly submitted character but there were a number of series with characters who had the same (or very similar) number of submissions. Therefore, I’ve created a preliminary round for you to vote on which character from each series gets to enter the bracket.

There will be 37 polls lasting 1 week each.

The polls will be separated into 3 waves. Each wave will be posted 24 hours after the previous.

The first wave will begin on Tuesday the 27th of June at 3PM BST

I've tried my best to only include official images for all of the characters on the polls but I'm not familiar with every series listed so, when the polls go up, if you notice I've used a fanart or cosplay image without permission or credit please let me know and I'll add credit and correct it for any future appearances of that character.

I love writing these types of prompts! What does that say about me 😅 but anyway… I’m very excited to do this and I’d love it if some of my followers and mutuals would throw suggestions my way as to what you want to see ☺️💙

Fang So the last costume I have to backlog is Fang. She took 2 years to make (From research to finding perfect pieces for details) We'll start with a couple of the little things.

First came the ribbon trim for her Sari. I did a satin stitch diagonal, stopped, turned, continued. Stopped, turned continued. I did 4 spools of this.

Next came the necklaces. The first I used an amethyst and then used Fimo clay on the ends to sculpt the silver pieces. A bead was then added at the bottom. The other necklace was bone and corral. Some bone beads were cut in half and the big one was sculpted using a dremmel.

Then came the arm band. Pretty simple following this tutorial.

Final product modeled by the late Cleopatra the Service Dog.

Finally the earrings.

So there's these vials you can purchase online that open up. I got a pair and filled them with purple paint, dremmel'd off the ring and using my soldering iron, I attached them to earring posts.

— I joined TOA during the peak of Covid quarantining in 2020 when there was a huge convention dry spell. The indie roleplay scene for Fire Emblem during this time was uneventful too. Having no productive outlet for cosplaying or writing, it lead me to join my first RP group which was (jazz hands) TOA

— My zodiac animal is a rabbit

— I have hundreds upon hundreds of hours clocked on Super Smash Bros from Brawl to Ultimate. You'll never guess who I main.

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? Final Fantasy XIV, Project Zomboid, Phasmophobia, Touken Ranbu, and Stardew Valley in order of frequency.

Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: I like bug types; my favorite Pokemon is Scizor. While not Pokemon my favorite Digimon, Kabuterimon, is also a bug. Honorable mention goes to Greninja.

How did you get into Fire Emblem? Saw Shadow Dragon in my local Gamestop one day and didn't buy it even though it stuck out to me with its somber and less colorful boxart. Next time I saw a Fire Emblem game in the store, i.e., Awakening, I bought and played it. The rest is history.

What Fire Emblem games have you played? If we're talking start-to-end I've played and finished FE1, FE3, FE7, FE9, FE11, FE12, Awakening, SOV, 3H, and Engage. The remaining games in the series I've played to either early or mid game.

Favorite Fire Emblem game: FE11 Shadow Dragon

Any Fire Emblem crushes? FE7 Rath was my first and only concrete FE crush. Marth was initially more of an aesthetic source of admiration though knowing his character better he likely exemplifies the ideal partner. Similar to Marth he's not really a crush, but right now I think a lot about Rafal, ironically less in the realm of looks or perfection and more at his attractive hot-and-cold personality.

Current TOA muses: Marth and Rafal

Who was your first TOA muse? If you don’t have them anymore, could you see yourself picking them up again? Marth is my ride or die Fire Emblem character and that extends to him as a muse.

Have you had any other TOA muses? Besides Marth and Rafal I've also written Xane. Though there isn't a lot of data, my second muse slot historically (and presently) being reserved for dragons tickles me a lot.

Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? Not really. My tastes are unexplainably versatile. I can favor the sweet and friendly golden boy type characters, or the less pristine and morally ambiguous "bad boy" types, and everything in-between. This isn't just true for TOA but also for characters from different series. My friends have a lot of trouble forecasting possible favorites for me because of it.

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? Emotions. Conflict with those emotions. Mwahahahaha

Favorite TOA-related memory: The first few months into my TOA debut when everything was bright, fresh, and new. Meeting new friends and forging bonds with other characters was super fun and I still remember who was around me during that time. Farina (written by Maxie) is the closest muse to Marth in terms of when they joined TOA and who has stayed to this day.

Got any delusions that didn’t see the light of day in TOA that you’d like to share? I tend to be very stable, loyal, and proactive in my delusions. If they're strong enough I pursue them, like Xane and Rafal. Rath would be among them if I ever replayed FE7 and if I determined having three muses wouldn't make my performance suffer over all.
