I was 7-8 years old when we performed to this track first. Like every other Desi Kid from the time, we never missed an opportunity to break into this movement. So this weekend I resided in Munich, Germany. I absolutely adored visiting such a unique city with such extensive history. Throughout my travels I learned that Germany and Italy vary greatly in many aspects particularly in culture and food. One thing that was different than in Italian culture was that the tip is not included in the bill. The waitresses and waiters knew that we were not from Germany and would make it a point to inform us that the tip was not included in the bill. Another difference was that I learned that meat is heavily included in their diet. One dish we had was Wiener Schnitzel, which was very delicious with lemon juice sprinkled on top. The only pasta I had there was spatzle that a type of egg noodle covered in cheese with onions on top. I loved this dish but the noodles were more cooked and chewy than al dente which was an interesting contrast to the normal Italian pasta dish.

 We stayed with a family that was family friends with one of the girls I was traveling with. On Sunday the mom made us a big breakfast with cherry tomatoes that were so sweet I ate them like candy. It also included eggs sunny-side up and brot sausage. While we were talking, we learned that the kids normally eat eggs like this for breakfast. She also provided croissants for us too. They were different than Italian ones but honestly, I liked them a little better. The chocolate ones had more chocolate on the inside and they were sweeter. There was also thinly sliced cheese provided with breakfast and it was some of the most flavorful cheese I have ever had. It was packaged cheese like we get in the states but it was sweet butter cheese. This is called Butterkäse and is a semi-soft cheese coming from cow milk cheese. It was very good and was delicious with the cherry tomatoes. I absolutely loved Germany and hope to make it back someday! Although the city was incredible, I can honestly say that I think Italian food is a lot better and I was very excited to get back and have a delicious bowl of lovely pasta.
