fuck I straight up forgot to do interest gathering on tumblr
yeah uh so!! first of all I’m sorry for. being barely present here anymore. but like if you follow my twitter you’ll learn very soon (or have learned) that me being online is really fucking annoying actually and I crosspost almost all art to all of the three platforms I frequent (tumblr, twitter, and instagram) anyway, so you’re not losing out on much if you don’t get to hear me shooting off some bullshit every thirty seconds with close to no context
second of all and main reason I’m writing this: I’m having some help from a friend with compiling and editing the SwSh comics and doodle comics into a bundle/book/something like that! currently the plan’s to put the digital version up for a pay-what-you-want thing, and then if things go well we’ll also have a physical version up for preorder! but only if that’s something people would like. our schedules (especially that of my friend, the person who’s actually doing all of the heavy lifting) are pretty crammed and sometimes contradictory given that we live half an earth apart, and the way we’re going about this if it happens is a little bit roundabout, so I really want a moderately sure bet that there’s a demand for this before we go for it.
so!! here’s that interest gathering; if you’d like a physical copy of a compilation of my SwSh comics, please reply to this post with a yes! or send me an ask off-anon, or DM me a yes - what I’d like is just a vocal show of interest, something I can note down. tl;dr

✒️ 11. If you have characters that embody certain traits of yours—good or bad—has writing them changed how you view those traits? Has it affected you in any way?
Ha ha… ha……
Tumblr media
I’m reminded of how Balthazar’s entire character arc was about learning to quit and how I wrote it while that was something I really needed to learn and how I genuinely didn’t even see that highly ironic connection until after I dropped Rebound.
Generally speaking, the majority of the characters I write are relatable to me in one way or another and it’s definitely always been a way for me to process and examine my own personality and thoughts and feelings.
Even right now where I’m spending most of my creative time writing a fanfic with characters that aren’t actually mine I wouldn’t be able to find any meaning in that if I couldn’t recognize myself in the characters and potentially learn from them, too.
Ask me some character design questions

If OP is curious, there's @b4kuch1n, who has a whole gallery of eldritch/lovecraftian/nightmare Mikus.
Behold: Hatsune Miku, Her of All Sounds, Keeper of the Most Vibrant Dream
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love her.
Also, there's Baku's the two horror Mikus under the cut bc the body horror is more extreme.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eldritch Miku
She's not a Deltarune character, though! Not relevant to this AU!
Besides, I'm sure someone else has already done a much better take on that idea.

Tbh i couldnt care less what you were jnto as long as its not harry potter or attack on titan stuff we have like PROOF its problematic
Ah I should probably have clarified there, huh.
Where like. There's as difference between media that problematic because it's created by horrible people who actively use their power and influence to spread fascistic and similarly hateful ideologies. It's problematic because the support of said media causes clear and direct harm for real people.
And media that's problematic because it explores or portrays taboo topics, and doing so in a manner that does not take some kind of explicit stance on whether or not they're "good" or "evil." This type of work is created explicitly for mature audiences due to uncomfortable portrayals of extremely triggering content, and thus is easy to moralize at rather than engage with through a critical lens.
The problematic media I engage with is always the second type.
It's also a manhwa that has like. No fandom presence on this site, so it'd probably be fine regardless.

Hey, sorry I misunderstood your earlier question regarding Fashion Month! Because this is something I made up last year on a whim for a self challenge, there are no themes or prompts. So instead I decided to make a guide on my process of how I prepare and do Fashion Month in case anyone else is interested they can join in as well!

No, no you’re correct.
One of my friends from my biomedical engineering cohort once expressed the same frustration. She was between jobs after getting her master’s in BME, so she was very qualified for the positions that she applied for. The problem was that she was maybe 5 ft tall and conventionally attractive.
What she told me was, “I hate it, but every time I have an in-person job interview, I’ve got to choose: heels or eye shadow. I can’t have both, because they’ll immediately assume that since I’m incapable of doing the work.”
Pretty privilege is very much a thing but I also think there are certain professions, as a woman, where being at least a little bit ugly is needed.
And it's all part of the exact same societal bias. And ideally "i will decide how to regard and respect you based on how you appear" would cease to exist entirely. My point is that as a woman, "you need to be pretty to be respected" applies in certain spheres and "you need to be a little bit ugly to be respected" applies in other spheres and it's all still the same woman. I think a 10/10 bombshell Ms. America type woman would struggle harder to be respected in like engineering and science fields because there's a certain expectation that smart women in those fields are all a little fucked up weird looking in one way or another.
Thinking about this to myself as I'm rewatching the recording of an engineering design meeting I was driving so I could take notes on it and going "oh man, the camera lighting is not doing me any favors" and then also thinking to myself "good, actually. I should try to be uglier next meeting in fact."

When I was seven or eight, I asked my dad to read The Lord of the Rings aloud to me. It started a bit of a tradition, eventually bringing my mom and four younger siblings in with me, a nightly reading of novels that lasted a good number of years. We covered everything from The Magic Treehouse to Les Miserables (abridged).
Eventually, though, my dad got tired of fighting the inattention of some of my younger siblings. It wasn’t something I wanted to disappear though, so when I was around fifteen, I stepped into the role.
Honestly, it was the only thing I felt I could offer them at the time. I was so...wound up, with multiple moves across the country, the regular angst of high school, the pressure to perform flawlessly as the family’s golden child, and my undiagnosed anxiety and depression... I didn’t have the time or the energy or the desire to play in the way that the younger children wanted of me. But I could give them this.
I read to them every night until I moved out of the house, when I was twenty-two.
I think my dad tried to step back into the role after I left, but things change. Family dynamics change. All of my siblings are adults, although several still live at home; I don’t think anybody reads aloud anymore.
I don’t know how much they remember of my reading to them, but I hope that as we grow up and focus on our individual adult lives, it’ll be a warm memory from me.
But I miss having somebody to read aloud to every night.
Things I am currently enamored of: Reading aloud to someone as an act of love

The fact you think Izzy needs to be punished at all is fucked but especially after he suffered enormous physical abuses .... I'm sorry people were cruel enough to you that you think this way and believe that's the way people ought to be treated.
Hey Nonny,
I mean this with utter sincerity: Are you doing okay?
Because I don't know who you are, and you don't know who I am. And despite that you are making a lot of assumptions about me, my background, and my personal character.
I don't usually answer asks like this, because I have a personal policy not to project the details of my emotional and mental health to a bunch of strangers online. I'm not inclined to doing so now, in defense of what was, ultimately, intended as a funny throwaway post for a fandom I am not involved in.
We could go back and forth all day about my philosophies around crime and punishment, abuse, imperfect victims, and restorative justice. We could argue semantics about whether I should have put quotation marks on "punishment" or swapped it for a softer term like "consequences," in order to emphasize the non-serious tone of the post.
However, that's not actually the issue here.
It seems like you are deeply invested in this character, enough that you feel the need to defend him from a hypothetical situation put out by a stranger on the internet. While it's inappropriate behavior to censor how others interact with fiction, I understand where you're coming from. I know how it feels when you find a piece of media that you see so much of yourself in that any callousness towards it feels like a personal attack.
At the end of the day, Izzy Hands from OFMD is not a real person. He does not need to be defended from my punishment of shipping him with Stede Bonnet on a lark.
You, however, are a real person, and it sounds like you are in a lot of pain. I'm so sorry that you've been through these experiences; what was done to you was wrong. I'm also glad that you've found something in this show and character that resonates with you. Healing is slow and messy, and sometimes you need to do it through a proxy.
Please take care of yourself, anon. I hope that someday, somewhere, somebody comes to your defense as ardently as you come to Izzy's.

I would personally like to propose:
Steve Carlsberg’s dad was named Steve, as was his grandfather. In every generation of the family, there has only ever been a sole male heir to carry on the Carlsberg name.
Their name has always been Steve.
Cecil, however, thinks that they are all the same person.
okay so bulk mentioned the people of night vale being Over cecil's harassment of steve carlsberg, and at first i thought about this:
My grandfather knew. He could see that I was like him. “Steve,” he would say. “Us Carlsbergs have always been the town pariahs. But just because they hate you doesn’t mean they’re right.” (e175)
and was like the citizens wouldn't be tired of cecil, they'd agree with him
BUT THEN i remembered that cecil was on the radio when steve was a kid and likely when steve's father was talking about the lines and arrows in the sky, and likely when steve's grandfather was talking about the lines and arrows in the sky, and etc etc etc
has cecil just been unilaterally harassing the carlsberg family for generations over something they were right about all along? was the vision the carlsbergs have another botched attempt by huntokar to have cecil hear her?
