日本 (Nihon) - "where the sun rises".... Literally!

Safely arrived in Japan on Wednesday, September 18th

Since I had to wait for my connecting bus to go to the university, I decided to get Takoyaki (たこ焼き - dough rolls with octopus) with friends instead. 美味しいです！

Since so many students are coming on the same days (18 & 19), Tsukuba University was providing a free shuttle bus from the airport to the university dorms.

After arriving at the university, our designated student buddy/tutor picked us up. We had to get documents and keys for our apartment, and collecting free bed sheets and covers.

My room is provided with a kitchenette, fridge/freezer (haven't tested the freezer yet!), small shelve and big shelve, desk and desk lamp, chair, and bed of course. And then also some very basic toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, shampoo, and toilet paper.

Sometimes ADHD likes to throw you a curveball, and in my latest "I do not control the hyperfixation" development: I was suddenly possessed, at FOUR IN THE MORNING, to buy myself a tamagotchi out of literally nowhere, and now all I want to do is play with it and look at tamagotchi content.

...I also bought a second tamagotchi. Oops.

#about me #apparently I came in at just the right time however #in a few months Bandai is re-releasing the Tamagotchi Connection; and those are apparently a fan favorite #I never had one! as a kid I had an original tamagotchi and a tamagotchi angel (maybe an Ocean? I'm not sure)#the Connection series came out when I was kind of over virtual pets #so I'm seriously considering getting one to experience them for the first time #the one I bought last week is a rereleased original; just like I remember #...and I also bought a Nano; but that's shipping from Japan so it won't be here until late June #.......I cannot stress enough that prior to that moment at 4 am the other day I hadn't thought about Tamagotchi in like 15 years #these neuros sure do be divergent #I am in serious danger of reactivating my digimon phase I can feel it #(if you didn't know: digimon was originally just Tamagotchi but marketed at boys. the anime and all that came later!)

One thing I love about ikesen is that without it I would have never heard what the sengoku period was. Im so glad I’ve come across this game and come to b aware of this time period.

#YES THEM BEING THERE IS EXACTLY WHY I TOLD MY BROTHER TO GO THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE ('there' being tower records in japan)#but i find it so funny that the cashier actually remarked on that fact too #anyway. you need to know that i'm feeling so very AAAAHHHH right now. all of these are such a big deal to me #i didn't think i'd actually own KMH ON VINYL at any point #also utterly shocked about the guerilla toss CD. very exciting to have that one too #they're one of my fav bands and i implore everyone who likes unhinged and very experimental and cacophonic rock to check them out #this album (eraser stargazer) isn't the most accessible thing there is out there but i really love it #(i don't even know how to describe it properly. it's just really something to behold anyway)#the plushie is also a gift from my brother!! i'll gladly take any name suggestions for him #oh and also sparks debut album. first album that i own both on CD and vinyl as of today #it's not even that it's my fav sparks album or anything (i do really love it though and it's definitely somewhere in my top ten)#it's just that some albums feel more like they 'fit' with the vinyl format than CD in sound. to me at least #one other example of that besides this one being gratsax #ok i think that's all i have to say about this. one of the most epic hauls of my life that's for sure #OH WAIT one more thing. somewhat unfortunate actually #which is that my brother said he's pretty sure he saw a latte vinyl #but when he passed by that section again like 10 minutes later he already couldn't find it. oh latte.......#it's ok i'll have it one day. i'm really curious what went down there though. did someone really snag it in those 10 minutes???#and yes in case you're worried i did thank my brother profusely for getting me all this #and now i'm going to force him to listen to the TMBG vinyl with me so that he's PREPARED FOR THE CONCERT #that's in 3 months and that he's know about for a year and a half. ok i'm done now #goosepost

i have an issue I see with ppl trying to make shippers "understand" their ship could not become canon, and I dont think many would expect it.

Why are we pretending being in your late 30s is being middle age? Dont get me wrong, being a middle aged person doesn't have to mean anything about someone, but its just- not middle age literally.

I dont really understand bringing that up anyways, iit feels wrong to me to believe just ppl in their teens and 20s could ever do anything pro LGBT+ in general... I find it insulting, as if this is a new thing or impossible to believe older people could believe in queerness in a positive light or be queer themselves. The main reason in the west, and im assuming other parts of the world, there arent as many or as visible is, well, because people were dying because of the AIDS crisis + the isolation from being older and every single public space made for or just young queers or cishet older adults.

I get the point, but if I remember correctly every time I see someone trying to do that (of course im believing they have the best intentions in mind), they have to bring up how this is a Japanese middle aged man as a good enough reason.

I don't really mind about what others want to believe or how much they care in terms of shipping -if you prefer to be casual and not paying that much attention to what's canon or not, good for you! Many ppl are also like that and its completely valid, here in this side of Tumblr might seem like all of us believe and theorize about their endgame potential bc we are the ones that usually make more posts or longer content. But I dont like those assumptions about queerness being tied to young westerners, and I wanted to rant a little bit.

Again, I dont believe that was the intention in any of those posts, and im not trying to call out anyone, just rant.
