Saprophytic Fungi- it doesn’t hurt the seedlings directly but causes damping off.

At least that’s what I think this is? I woke up to these sad little seedlings covered in white fuzz yesterday. It seems to be mostly on my little onion seedlings, but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Anyone have any tips?

I read that it doesn’t necessarily hurt your seedlings if you can fix the problem early on. I spent the majority of my afternoon yesterday cleaning the little pellets, removing all of the white stuff, doing my best not to hurt the growing seedlings. Took most of my good seedlings out of their trays so they could air out. Spaced out the rest and didn’t fully cover the trays overnight. 🌱

On a positive note: A few of my little seedlings just might make it! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
