Ann freezes in place as she sees the girl from across the square. At first she fears she’s mistaken, thinking her brain might have projected the image of her friend onto the first person who remotely resembled her. But after having a better look at her face, her straight posture, rust red eyes, and that reserved expression she always gets when she’s deep in thought about something, there was no mistaking it. It was Makoto. She was here, she was alive!

A cry of relief escapes her as she dashes her way towards the other, paying no mind to manners or whoever she bumps into in the process.

“MAKOTO!!!” 

She throws her arms around the other girl, bringing her into a tight hug, tears already spilling out past her cheeks. 

“Thank god you’re ok! I was so scared! When we were all dissapearing, and- and Ryuji just-!” She chokes out a sob, clinging to Makoto’s uniform as if she really will dissapear if she loosens her grip. 

“Thank god, thank god!”

While the truth of the situation was already known, Makoto gripped that phone tight in a gloved hand. This isn’t like Joker, the way he spoke or the way he acted in front of them all. Being used like a damn puppet? How could he be drawn in and taken under so easily? 

That disgusting Shadow creature was already an eyesore, but knowing it constrained those Jokers made Makoto’s anger boil to the brink. She couldn’t stand seeing them pulled around like meat puppets or used as that thing’s underlings! 

It’s just like SHIDO! Using others for its own gain!! 

Makoto quickly typed out a private message sent to her current leader-in-charge.
