“You will be the rightful King of the Six Duchies, of the Out Islands, of all the Cursed Shores! All. I will give you all your dreams, if only you come back!”
My dream was dead in my arms. I continued to walk.

My beloved just read the first Farseer trilogy. They got hung up near the end of the third book on the question whether it’s possible to have a Wit bond with bees. Molly claims to have bonded to her hive to scare away the intruders. My beloved found that plausible.
I don’t think that bees have enough for a human to connect with but my beloved thinks they could bond to a whole hive.
NOTE FOR ANY COMMENTS WITH SUPPORTING ARGUMENTS PLEASE AVOID REFERENCING LATER BOOKS, MY BELOVED HAS ONLY READ THE FIRST TRILOGY.

Okay I haven’t actually finished the first trilogy but I’m enjoying that Robin Hobb made a main character who’s the bastard son of a beloved prince, gets raised in a castle and secretly trained as a deadly assassin, also does weird psychic magic and has a wolf animal companion who he has a telepathic link with, and yet even with all that going for him, the answer to the question ‘Is Fitz cool’ is an unmitigated ‘no’
he is SO cringe fail and pathetic it’s iconic. Hobb really said “what if my fantasy action hero was kind of a loser?” and didn’t look back
