OH ALSO hoshi with inexperienced at love reader LAJDKCKDK i need it. hoshi my beloved, bff gyu my beloved, inexperienced reader my beloved. this is a recipe for an amazing fic

omg so thts one i started writing kiiiind of for myself? i cant remember if i gender reader there or not (update: i did! sorry!!) where reader starts dating hosh after gyu introduces them (w the intention of setting them up) and they just... didnt rly date much or anything, so all of this is new. hosh is also kind of inexperienced in my opinion (he's been on dates before in this fic, but nothing super serious?) so its kind of just... two dummies walking through experiences together and probs falling very hard for each other over time <3

also i slightly lied he's not rly "bestie" but mingyu is a very good friend of readers (they both are/were culinary students together and that started their friendship!!) but honestly??? he might as well be bestie gyu.

excerpt:

Meeting Soonyoung was probably one of the best days in your life. It’d been through a friend: fellow culinary student Mingyu, who had a twinkle in his eye and said “I want you to meet someone” before throwing you headfirst into meeting his huge friend group. Mingyu had stayed by your side, claiming that you were a really good friend of his and that it just happened they were all getting together and he couldn’t just wait to introduce you to Soonyoung another time. He walked away that night with a smack on the arm and a promise to give you better warning next time rather than a few hours in advance with a “dress casually, it’ll be fine” to ready you. You met Soonyoung, failed to notice that his roommate, Jihoon, was spending the night keeping away any and all alcohol from him alongside the way everyone seemed to keep an eye on you two, and the two of you clicked pretty fast. Mingyu told you that he’d be a little shy at first, since the “crazy, fun-loving” Soonyoung you’d seen in videos and on Mingyu’s social media was the result of him coming out of his shell around other people (or getting enough alcohol in his system). Mingyu didn’t tell you he’d planned the entire thing to get the two of you together, that all he told Soonyoung was that you were “cute and kind” while telling everyone else that he was pretty sure the two of you would be perfect for each other.

(Mingyu said the hardest sell on you was that you could not dance at all. He still firmly believed that Soonyoung wouldn’t care, though, and if anything the offer to teach you might bring you two closer. Someone had pictures of the way Mingyu lit up the moment Soonyoung offered to maybe teach you some steps sometime if you were interested and the way you accepted.)

it's just plans so far, but (under a readmore bc its a lil longer)...

(context: chan's baby is fussy and he can't get her to calm down, so reader offers up their help since their older sister had a baby and they helped a lot with him)

another eager nod, this man is handing the reins to you right now. you pump a bit of hand sanitizer into your hands, already figuring it out. she’s too warm. you gently pull her out of the carrier, gently rocking her as you coo at her. the cool air hits her skin now that she’s out of the carrier, and you look up at the dad who’s just kind of amazed at how quickly you managed to take care of her.

“babies can be really sensitive to temperature,” you say, still gently rocking the lil girl in your arms. “my nephew would always cry when my sister went grocery shopping since the freezer section always got to him.” you look down at the baby, who’s soothed and watching you like :O, and you just kinda smile at her. “it doesn’t help that you were panicking too,” you hum. “babies are really in tune with that sort of thing.”

the guy is nodding along and hes scrambling for the grocery list he made, ripping off the bottom and scribbling his number across it. “please teach me everything you know,” he said, thrusting the paper at you. “if you don’t mind.”

you nearly laugh at that, tucking it into your pocket. you give him your name. he’s cute, too, so... no harm in helping a new dad, right?

“lee chan,” he says, “and... she’s seo-yeon.”

“she’s cute,” you hum. “not the cutest, but i’m obligated to say that about anyone who’s not my nephew.”

hes a young dad with a three month old who is trying his very best and i love him <3 he get a lot of support from his friends n family but probs has moments of insecurity still since hes a single dad on his own :(

also yea!! like he has Some experience w dates n whatnot but i just think going through certain things together while not being completely clear on stuff and figuring out whats best for u is like... a cute concept <3 its also all of soonyoungs buddies banding together to help this relationship work out haha since mingyu just kinda goes "trust me they'll be perfect for each other" and everyone is like haha okay sure until they see reader n soonyoung interacting and they realize oh shit they do get along rly well already.

(jihoon sits in on several "not-dates" and hes like. why am i third-wheeling. soonyoung stop dragging me along when ur gonna spend the entire time making heart eyes at each other. ask her out for real u coward.)
