potential hellsing oc. why am i still making hellsinf ocs i already have one

vampire snagged by millenium, used as dok's test subject in creating something stronger thqn the typical vampire . i'm sure no two characters come to mind when you imagine her and the dok together

she was nicknamed leech so that's what i'll call her. doesnt have an official name yet,,

very animalistic due to how shes been treated and what she's been taught. prefers to walk on all fours. when she does stand (usually after being forced to) she has horrible awful posture

incredibly high stamina and speed, but only when on all fours. she walks with a gait and runs like that one scene in devilman crybaby

always kept on the brink of starving so that she's permanently hungry and therefore a lot more willing to attack. she wouldn't be otherwise

has hyperdontia and her teeth grow in very quickly, like a shark. when she bites someone, some of her teeth stay in the wound and keeps it from healing completely unless they're plucked out.

since her jaw is always aching, biting things and people is one of the only ways she gets relief. it's kind of like the same feeling as wearing braces and/or rubberbands except x1000. she can't really speak with all of her teeth, but pulling some allows her to, albeit with a heavy lisp.

hair was cut short so that she doesn't trip on it but it can grow out like alucards. it can also harden into spikes (illustrated by whatever this is)

havent thought about her backstory much but she was relatively normal before being turned. her story does involve hellsing taking her in though because 1.) killing her off would make me sad, 2.) i want to give her proper character development and a personality, and 3.) dog dad alucard and walter. think about it

Well. This study did genetic analysis on fleas (and several other insects) to find out what these guys derive from. Because up to this point, fleas have been just these weird little things in their own order that are... somewhere??? in the Antliophora clade. Previous scientists have thought maybe they're some weird offshoot of Diptera (true flies), because they do actually have vestigial little wing casings.

But this study, and the genetic analysis they did, revealed that fleas are not especially similar to Diptera. They're actually most similar to Mecoptera. Scorpionflies.

That's right. These guys.

Which is completely and utterly insane to me. You're telling me these big, super unique and specialized, weird-ass bugs, somewhere down the line, created an offshoot of these tiny little insects that lose their wings in favor of hopping around, that parasitize vertebrates and feed on blood? Scorpionflies did that??

- i Do Not like the depictions of walter where he's, like, a genuinely sick in the head and fucked up individual. it just seems grossly extreme to me. different strokes for different folks though

that being said, i do agree he's definitely not well. i think he has bpd,, mostly out of me projecting and what not but also because i think it just makes sense. growing up distanced from the people around you and not receiving proper emotional support does that to a mf

he's got a facade up damn near all the time. inoffensive, orderly, agreeable, prim and proper. not to manipulate the people around him for his own gain, but because he knows thats what other people want. anything less and he'd be a bad butler, and therefore, effectively useless

- not really a hc since this is just kind of a fact? but ill say it here because its what draws me to him the most: he's afraid of being rendered useless.

- he's not an emotional guy. i dont think he feels much most days. all his smiles are about as fake as the teeth he would've needed if he went on for much longer. i think he's been somewhat resigned to his fate for a while now, but that doesn't stop him from thinking what if every now and again

- he would've loved to have been a father at some point but has since abandoned it for many reasons. seras is about the closest he has to a daughter and the most he's opened up to someone emotionally, but he still keeps himself at an arms length.

- i like to think he grew out his hair at some point during the 80s for a mullet but liked having it long

- very meticulous about keeping up his appearance. not a serious headcanon but its funny to imagine him up all night plucking each and every grey hair out of his head. if not just to look as presentable as possible, then it also helps his confidence. its nice to know that his apprarance is one of the few things he has control over

- not good at taking compliments but loves them. praise him too much and too often and you'd finally see him emotional i think. really, letting this man know that his worth is not defined by how useful he is to others would fix him

- i think his monocle is both for appearances and because he's got a bum eye, trying to hide it in a way that fits
