ugh flynn/eve the absolute ship of all time

this man who is disconnected from everyone in his life, even his mentors, who is so smart that no one can keep up, who has just had his entire world for the last decade destroyed and now he has to contend with three new "librarians" and a cranky annex man and this woman, who is chosen for him by the most important person in his life (a giant library that no longer exists) and she anticipates his sentences and thinks on her feet and guards him so steadfastly without even knowing him, who he looks at as soon as they meet and says oh i could be alright with that

and eve, a woman who is so confident and so self assured and has known everything about her life and what shes wanted day in and day out for her entire life, being confronted with magic and knowledge and maybe she doesnt know what she actually wants, maybe she wants the potential of what these people could be, of the family they could be and that shes lacked her whole life, except for this fucking guy whos prickly and arrogant and totally unwilling to be guarded even though that is eves specialty and yet who she feels is someone she intrinsically understands and sympathizes with because she has also been alone this whole time

and they are pushed together by the library, by circumstance, perhaps by fate, and most of all by eves stubbornness against flynns and they grow together, they come to know each other and understand each other and take care of each other for the rest of eternity, for the rest of time, for the next however long the library exists

and they have the built in family that comes with the library, that they have forged together for the last however many years, they have three librarians and a cranky annex man and each other

I rewatched The Librarians recently and have been writing a ton of fic. I’m posting it on AO3. In the past my fic was posted on ffn so don’t let my low fic count on AO3 fool you. I’ve been writing fanfic for a while. It’s been 84 years. Lol no. More like 25? I’m old.
