KMO - the language of knots

KMO literally means "knot"

• Has 14 letters

A, E, I, U, O - top string (the one indicated by 1 pixel at the start in the image above)

B, C, D, K, S - bottom string

F, L, M, R - middle string (top and bottom strings tied together)

• Some letters replace the letters that are missing

I - j, y

B - p

D - t

K - g, q, x

S - z

F - v, w, h

M - n

• Every two letters AEIUO and BCDKS share the same symbols/knots, the only way to differentiate between them is which "string" they're tied on. FLMR have unique knots.

• Inspired by Quipu

• Can be "written" aka tied in real life, may use beads to signify letters or to convey meaning through color. The sentence starts with a non-flat square knot. The string representing (aeiuo) always starts with a simple one-loop knot.

• In digital format the sentences are written like in the image above. Each symbol representing a letter is 3x3 pixels (or an equivalent of such) large.

• The number "writing" system doesn't exist yet, but "0" as a numeral is not intended to exist, and they only have numbers 1-9, the only way to add "zeros" is to ad a loop around a number.

FGTF pre production progress and my unborn child.

About three days to go for the shoot and I am super stressed out. I can't remember the last time I was this unprepared for a shoot, then again I can't remember the last time I wasn't this stressed out before a shoot. Holding on to the hope that things will magically change over the course of the next three days and the shoot will run smoothly.  We  I did a rough paper edit for the first song (will post it when I do an imvdb breakdown of the video inshallah :P) because it definitely helps everyone get a feeling of what the video is going to look like plus its useful for storyboarding. Heres the kicker, the treatment for the second song is more incomplete than the Chennai metro. I have a ton of ideas and that is awesome but the decision making is where the real struggle is. Should I go with 'A' or will it be easier to go with 'B', oh wait C looks the best but it might be hard to accomplish, or maybe 2 hours on imgur will help make this decision easier. Thats how most of my days have been so far on this. So, Id like to take this moment to apologise to the unprepared directors that I bitched about earlier. Turns out I belong to the same breed (just exaggerating mates, I will never be as useless and unprepared as ya ll).  Technicals - The studio we booked has a nice green matte, brilliant lighting, good amount of space etc but Im fucking worried about the scratches on the flooring. The scratches expose the white inner coating of the matte and could potentially be a huge problem. If you ever find it hard to actually cast blind people for a shoot then you can always go to a studio and hire a couple of the staff members because they do a brilliant impression of blind people. They claim that there won't be any issue in keying but Im gonna head there tomo myself and do a test run.  We also managed to rent a 5d mark3 with a 24-105 and a 50mm 1.4f. YES. The 50mm I got mostly because I really need a new profile picture. Anyway, a good friend decided to help out with the choreography so thats a relief. But people/friends have been bailing on this project like I asked them to be the father of my unborn child so I currently have huge trust issues. Budgets - Basic production cost is coming to about 18k. That includes only studio, amps/kits/sound equipment, camera and lighting. Anyway, I ll do a review of the studio again after the shoot is over.   From afar, a lot of the handwork seems done, but because I am right in the middle of it I can't see it. Again, can't stress on the need for a collaborator quite enough. Just another perspective would take some of the burden off. A major chunk of the video is going to be laid out in the edit room which is where Im hoping all my fears turn into power. On a serious note though, it is quite humbling to finally be in a position where you can understand how much work actually needs to go in for a production like this, no matter how small it is. Also a good time to admit that I can't fucking do any of this alone. Its just too many decisions to be made by one person. The only things keeping my head in place are the confidence the band and Pradeep have in me.  Will post again this weekend with updates from the shoot and maybe a few selfies with the krispy 50mm.
