My site supervisors for day camp are all complaining about how they have to go to a two hour ~fishing training~ tomorrow. To learn fishing safety. My camp has been doing fishing for like three years and the worst thing that has happened is that some kid accidentally caught a duck last summer.

40: Never on purpose but I did have a few close calls. One time I was in Las Vegas on a Flowrider machine wearing slightly loose swimming trunks, and they flew off, though I was able to catch them and pull them back up, though I wiped out on the ride in doing so. I also once had my pants come down some years before while bouncing on a trampoline, and my underwear almost followed suit, though me landing on my knees stopped that process and let me go put my pants back on. I’ve never been purposely naked in public though. I appreciate you making this ask off anon, dear Julia :3

Dubai, with its gleaming skyscrapers, vibrant culture, and year-round sunny weather, is a destination that attracts travelers from all corners of the world. While the city offers a myriad of attractions, the sweltering hot summers call for innovative ways to keep cool. One of the most exhilarating and refreshing ways to beat the heat in Dubai is by visiting its world-class water parks. In this blog, we'll dive into the aquatic wonderlands that Dubai has to offer and explore how these water parks are your oasis in the midst of the scorching summer sun.
Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis The Palm
Dubai's Aquaventure Waterpark is a magnificent creation located at the iconic Atlantis The Palm resort. Nestled on the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, this water park is a thrilling escape for those seeking respite from the intense summer heat. Here's what you can expect:
Slides and Rides: Aquaventure boasts a wide variety of water slides, including the Leap of Faith, where you plummet through a shark-filled lagoon. There's also the aptly named Poseidon's Revenge, which drops you through a trapdoor and into a near-vertical slide.
Lazy River: If you're in the mood for something more relaxed, take a leisurely ride down the Lazy River, winding through the park with stunning views of the resort's architecture.
Splashers' Playground: The little ones aren't left out either, with an exciting water playground designed just for them, featuring water cannons, mini slides, and shallow pools.
Private Cabanas: For those seeking a more luxurious experience, Aquaventure offers private cabanas for rent, providing shade, refreshments, and a comfortable place to unwind.
Wild Wadi Waterpark
Situated in the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab, Wild Wadi Waterpark is a spectacular choice for family fun during Dubai's hot summers. With the theme of Arabian folklore, it's a delightful blend of adventure and culture. Here are some highlights:
Master Blaster Water Coasters: Wild Wadi features thrilling water coasters like the Jumeirah Sceirah, which propels you downhill at incredible speeds, and the Burj Surj, a tandem water slide for racing with a partner.
Wave Pool: The park offers a massive wave pool called Breaker's Bay, where you can catch waves up to 1.5 meters high, making it feel like a day at the beach.
FlowRider: Surfing enthusiasts can try their hand at the park's FlowRider, an artificial wave generator that lets you experience the thrill of surfing in the desert.
Dine with a View: The park's restaurants offer delightful Arabian cuisine with a view of the Arabian Gulf. You can indulge in a delicious meal while taking in stunning vistas of the city.
Laguna Waterpark
Laguna Waterpark is another gem in Dubai's water park scene, offering a more relaxed and beachy atmosphere. It's located at La Mer, a popular beachfront destination. Here's what you can look forward to:
Infinity Pool: The park features a stunning infinity pool that overlooks the Arabian Gulf, providing a luxurious and tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
