Flutter! Ripple's crush and near mate from the Park Cats, she appears both in the flashback Bonus Scene in Dawn of the Clans and in the beginning of Riverstar's Home. She is described as a pale orange she cat, but also full sibling to Arc Ripple's mentor, so I made her a dilute tortishell. All that we know about her really is what is relayed by Riverstar which, tends to be subjective. He pines after her when he is washed downstream for a long time, and believes through meditation she is still alive, but it is later revealed in his leadership ceremony that she was killed by a monster when she was trying to escape her capture from the twolegs, probably soon after she was taken from the park.

I was thinking about how Cas no longer has his wings and I realized how much I miss hearing the fluttering of his feathers when he arrives.

Then I started thinking about how he might be sad, or frustrated, or even nostalgic every time he had to get into his beat up truck to travel somewhere.

How frustrated he must feel when he can’t immediately be there for Dean and Sam when they need his help. He needs to drive from wherever he is and hope to get there in time to help them.

All that led me to a rant about Cas and how many times he beat the crap out of people in later season when he was alone, but when fighting alongside Dean and Sam, he gets easily beat and that pisses me off. That’s the writers bringing him down in order to not outshine the Winchester brothers. Which is bullshit because him being able to fight and kick ass right along with them, doesn’t diminish their characters at all. It just shows a kick ass team. It was not necessary.

But, I digress. I miss hearing his fluttering arrival. I miss his popping up behind Dean before Dean even finishes his sentence. I miss him showing up while he still on the phone with Dean.

I get that as seasons went on, he became more humanized in his emotions and views, but taking his wings away was just so demeaning. He could still heal (albeit it would tire him), he could mind meld with people and use his angel grace for spells. I just wish he still had his wings and I’m still salty that they weren’t given back to him.

1: clear sky wasn't even there????

2: augh...i know the way clear sky constantly talked about fluttering bird Being A Part Of His Backstory was mostly manipulative but also if any cat deserved to talk about fluttering bird Like That it maybe would have been jagged peak. that's his litermate!! he was playing with her a few pages ago!! he was one of the first to see her dead body. like, what the fuck.
