Giving another Mer food is a sign that you’re interested in courting them. He’s a little embarrassed that he tried to give you something that could hurt you… but how was he supposed to know that you couldn’t eat those!!! Since you didn’t seem upset though he figures he’ll just have to find something else to give you.
