several of my coworkers were laid off (essentially) with zero warning and with no reasons given as to why them in particular and moreover it sounds like the decision was in fact made months ago and just took a while to come home to roost, meaning that things like ‘they work on some of the features we have been told are absolutely essential to launching [project]’ were apparently irrelevant to the decision. morale is simply cratering
#including the aforementioned coworker which. :////////#also separately a coworker who a) had accommodations and b) was outspoken about labor rights and work conditions#did either of these things affect the decision well who can say. the optics however are not great#they won’t even give a full list of who was affected for ‘privacy’ (are we not going to notice? people have to take over their work)#so it’s full fog of war just hearing via rumor and word of mouth#the ‘essentially’ is that if they find a new team in X amount of time they can stay. it’s ‘role eliminations’ for legal purposes#but good luck doing that with only access to email and in these conditions#i genuinely like my coworkers but i feel like the environment has just gotten consistently worse since i started working here. feels bad :(#may.txt

I love Humboldt Fog cheese so much. It's so good. Love when it gets really really ripe and has a biiiiiiiiig creamy layer and a little crumbly part.
