Tim is a giant cuttlefish! He can change color all over, not just his fish half! He can make his own mask like that! He has totally different markings/colors as robin than he does in his normal life.

Bart is a sailfish!! Generally all the Allen's are sailfish (they are the fastest fish in the ocean) The Thawne's are often black marlins, and the West's are generally wahoo.

Kon looks something like a cutthroat eel, a species that lives around hydrothermal vents, but he's actually (like Clark and most of the El clan) a fish-snake, a species that lives in the firefalls of krypton.

The hydrothermal vents act a little bit like a yellow sun, so they get some powers from that, but also they can still fly and benefit from solar energy! They look very impressive when flying, like dragons!

thanks to the people who interacted with my og mermed post who reminded me I've meant to post this wip of the rest of them but kept forgetting, since it might never get finished.

Well, minus the Kankers and Bro, who all also had merfolk designs but I never got to them.

All 3 Kankers were going to be different kinds of sharks: Lee a Great White, Marie either a tiger or Mako, and May a Nurse Shark... and ofc Bro was going to be a whale though I was struggling between the sperm whale like his trailer or a humpback for better design.

Mermay Day 21: Golden Carp I had a struggle pulling up a quick reference for this one (hard to tell what was a real photo what was false, alas), so I played it safe and went for the classic orange and white speckled carp colors.

3. what makes you love writing?

Beyond finishing a project, it’d have to be like—those moments where you’re in the zone, and you end up writing/editing the perfect line. Not like, a showstopper or tiktok-worthy kinda line, but like… one that just flows nicely. That nestles in amid the rest of them!! There’s something so zen about that, about writing something that can do its job and do it well, lmao.

7. what books have shaped the way you think about writing the most? why?

Annie Dillard’s The Writing Life was good because it was—relatable, lmao, but that’s only a fairly recent read (within the last year). Formatively, it’d have to be Chuck Palahniuk’s Diary! I read it as a teenager and it was one of the first books that introduced second-person POV to me!! I’ve loved—and written in—the POV since; it’s the reason why I’ve ended up here in the x reader niche! If I hadn’t already had experience with writing (and loving) second-person POV then I’m not sure I would’ve been interested enough in the self-insert concept to write for it.

10. which patterns keep popping up in your projects/characters?

Oh, I had to think about this. It feels biased to say; I take away different things from my own writing than someone who’s just stumbled on it might. But I guess, if i had to pin them it’d be: loss, intense friendships, and life-changing (in a very literal sense) romance.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? if i were to involve another language its gotta be clear the reader understands i only speak one and i have done everything in my power to not JUST utilize google translate. but also to read other fics with another language involved, it helps if theres a footnote for clarity.
