was thinking about how jacaerys would handle naming his kids. they have it spelled out that jacaerys will take the name targaryen once rhaenyra is queen and jacaerys takes up his seat as crown prince of dragonstone, which makes me think he'd go for a targaryen name. that + the general issues surrounding his identity, and baela being a born targaryen, also make me feel he'd lean towards a targaryen name. even in the scenario where he somehow wins the dance with his mother and is married to sara snow (i cannot even begin to explain why that would never happen though), i think sara herself would likely push for as targaryen a name as they can think of, again to drive home the point that their children are Rhaenyra's heirs. i was thinking

for girls:

rhaenys -> it's a way to honor his velaryon heritage, pick a targaryen name, and also drive home the point that jacaerys himself is a true targaryen; he has the name, he has the seat, he has a dragon, he has a dragon riding wife, and now he has a daughter named for a conqueror.

rhae -> simple, sweet, very targaryen, and he can say he's named her for like half the women in his house - rhaena the black bride, his cousin rhaena, rhaenys the conqueror, rhaenys velaryon, and even his own mother.

jaenara/jaenerys -> this is a name of an old dragonrider from house belaerys (went extint during the doom). i'm kinda fuzzy on whether the dragon riders all share names or if they're family specfiic (like the way a lot of areas have Region Specific Names but also Family Specific Names - think like Joffrey vs Boremund) so if it is region specific (as in dragon riders shared names but non dragon riding valyrians had their own) I think it would appeal; kinda similar to jacaerys and jaehaerys, very targaryen-ish. if it's not dragon rider esque and house specific, i'm assuming jaenerys is the Targaryen form of it, and I just think Jacaerys would want to name his daughters - his daughters esp given the succession issues they just dealt with - dragon rider names.

shaena/shaera -> not only is it a very neutral name - no one else so far has had it or anything like it, man or woman - but it's a bit similar to 'sara' and i thought jacaerys might like the idea of his daughter having a targaryen-ified version of his wife's name.

valaena -> it's a velaryon name so while i don't think he would give it to his first born daughter, if he had a few daughters, i think he might want a velaryon name as a way of honoring his father's house, and his grandsire corlys. i also think baela would love the idea of having a daughter with a velaryon name, and valaena being the mother of the conquerors makes it a good choice.

for boys

baelor -> ngl if i was jacaerys, baela, or sara, i would simply refuse to name my kid baelon as i'd feel the name was cursed lmao. we have baelon the brave who dies before he can take up the crown which causes a massive rift in the family, and then aemma dying for a son named baelon only for that baelon to die immediately anyways. baelor is a nice way to honor viserys, rhaenyra, and baelon the brave without sticking the kid with a cursed ass name. although baelor is very close to baela, so if he did marry sara snow and make her queen, he's not choosing this one, i think he would (rightly) worry it would be seen as a sleight towards baela and the velaryons.

aerys -> it's not a name that's been used by the targaryen kings at that point and i think the newness of it would really appeal; like a fresh start for the dynasty almost, the way daeron & myriah play it by using incredibly valyrian, but all new names for their brood.

valerion -> jae & aly used this for one of their babies that died in the cradle, but i think it’s a very distinguished name, and sounds like it could be a velaryon or targaryen name, which i think would appeal to jacaerys - and sara as well, actually, i think a bastard girl would understand the tightrope they’re walking here, & would want jacaerys to acknowledge his velaryon side for appearances sake at least.

maelys/maekar -> he can’t use maelor because aegon 2 & helaena used that one (and regardless of what happens to get jacaerys the throne, i can’t see him purposefully attempting to call to mind the targtowers). i have no reason for this one besides i just really like these names lmao. they’re very targaryen, very strong names, and i just think they sound cool!!!!!

daemion -> i think baela would love to name one of her sons after her father, and i can see jacaerys being talked into it (not for a first born though) despite the issues between jace & daemon.

“You driving home?” his sixteen year-old band mate, Rodrick, asked.

“Wait, who’s that, again? Your girlfriend?” the teenager asked.

“No, no, Becky’s my girlfriend,” he responded, “Sara’s my baby sister. She’s your guys’s age, I think.”

“Your baby sister’s taking you home?” Ben Segal questioned with a raised eyebrow.

“Yo. Not cool,” Bill frowned, seeming genuinely wounded.

“Wait. No way. Sara’s coming?” Chris grinned at the prospect.

“Hey. Don’t get your hopes up,” Bill frowned out of concern.

The teenage boys, alongside Bill, waited outside the Heffleys’ garage after their band practice, having just walked down the street while sharing a few joints. Chris and Ben were both waiting for Chris Merkle’s brother to pick them up, when an old El Camino pulled up near the sidewalk.

Loud nu-metal music could be heard blasting low from the inside. The driver of the car honked the horn impatiently.

“Is that your sister?” Rodrick pointed at the car skeptically, not quite sure what to expect when it came to Bill’s sister.

“Yeah. Later, guys. Gotta motor,” Bill announced, before Ben quickly grabbed his arm.

“Nope! You’re not going anywhere,” he laughed, I wanna see that hot sister of yours.”

“Okay…” Bill murmured, nervously making faces. “Sara’s not gonna like that…”

The boys heard another loud series of angry honks before they saw the car door open, as Chris and Ben practically rubbed their hands together maniacally. Rodrick’s mouth fell open as he saw Bill’s sister.

She looked nothing like Rodrick would’ve pictured Bill’s teenage sister to look like; she actually looked like a younger, female version of Bill. Sara Walter was almost as tall as her older brother, with the same long, messy blonde hair, only she’d gone one step further and dyed it platinum blonde as some sort of sign of rebellion.

She wore all black, and sported a deep black smokey eye to match. She was only about sixteen or seventeen, but she had a few sizable tattoos on her arms. Rodrick realized Ben and Chris were actually right, despite being complete idiots. She was hot.

“Yo. Bill,” the girl interrupted them, cigarette in hand, gesturing angrily, “You ready, or what?” she demanded impatiently.

“Yeah. Yeah, sorry, Sara Bear,” he apologized, joining his younger sister in defeat. “Bye guys.”

“Later,” Rodrick murmured, eyes still fixed on Bill’s sister, looking from her back tattoo to her dark grey jeans.

“Hey, Sara,” Chris smiled.

“Hey, Sara!” Ben grinned.

“Shut the fuck up, shit bird,” Sara scowled, shaking her head. “Hey, Chris. How’s your mom?”

“She’s good,” he smiled, grinning at his band mate. “Thanks.”

“Sorry, which one are you, again?” she asked, turning to Rodrick.

“Uh, Rodrick,” he responded as quickly as he could, not realizing she was addressing him.

“Okay, Uh Rodrick,” Sara smiled lightly, “Nice to meet you.”

“You too,” Rodrick smiled, eager to flirt with her.

“You can come meet us anytime, baby,” Ben snickered, earning approval from no one.

“Hey, don’t you go to Crossland?” Rodrick piped up excitedly, having seen her at school before.

“Mhm,” she nodded. “See you around.”

“Yeah,” he chuckled, glad she seemed interested, “Okay.”

She turned to Bill, no longer interested in making small talk.

“Come on. These assholes are killing my brain cells as we speak,” Sara muttered, flicking her lit cigarette butt onto the ground.

“Yo, Bill! Wait!” Rodrick yelled impulsively.

“Yeah?” Bill turned to look at him.

“Uh… Emergency band practice! Tomorrow!” Rodrick shouted.

“Really?” Bill asked, not recalling this ever being mentioned.

“Really?” Ben questioned.

“Yeah!” Rodrick nodded. “Three o'clock!”

“Okay!” Bill called.

And so it began.

“Who’s that?”

Rodrick turned with a start, not realizing his younger brother, Greg, who was in middle school, had come out to the garage.

“My future wife,” Rodrick murmured, before realizing who he was talking to. “None of your business, twink,” he spat defensively.

“Mom says dinner’s almost ready,” Greg persisted resentfully.

“Tell her I’ll be in in a minute,” he scowled.

Once the other boys in the band had left, Rodrick Heffley reluctantly joined the rest of his family for dinner.

“Manny, don’t throw food, please,” Susan Heffley said gently.

Rodrick watched passively as his three year-old brother chewed sloppily.

“So, Greg, how was school?” the boys’ mother asked politely.

“Good,” he responded laconically.

“Yeah? You and your butt buddy make out under the bleachers?” Rodrick teased.

“Shut up, Rodrick!”

“Greg!” Susan shouted in exasperation as her husband, Frank, just buried his face in his hands, trying to block it all out.

“But Mom, it was Rodrick!” he gave a whiny protest.

“Enough. Both of you,” she sighed, “Can’t we just talk about something nice for once?”

“Oh, well since you asked, Mom,” Greg grinned eagerly, “Rodrick has a new crush!”

“Rodrick?” Susan questioned, her interest piqued.

“No, I don’t!” Rodrick shouted. “I’m gonna kill you one of these days, you know that?” he turned to his brother.

“What’s he talking about?” Susan asked. “Is there a girl you like?”

“No, Mom, he’s just being a butt.”

After a while, Rodrick started getting into trouble for cursing around the house, so he eventually started finding creative ways to insult people, mostly Greg.

“What, you don’t wanna tell Mom about your crush?” Greg taunted him.

“Say the word ‘crush’ one more time,” Rodrick warned.

“Crush.”

“I’m putting Nair in your shampoo.”

“Thanks for the heads up, genius.”

“Boys,” Frank Heffley sighed. “I had a long day at work, can we please just either get along, or hate each other in silence?”

“Frank!” Susan sighed with disdain. “Rodrick. If you like this girl, you should try making a move. Ask her out. Flowers would be nice,” she suggested.

“Mom, there is no girl!”

“Then whose cigarette butt is out by the driveway?” Greg continued.

“Wait, you like a girl who smokes cigarettes?” Susan nearly had an aneurysm.

“Mom. There’s no girl, and no cigarettes!” Rodrick argued.

“Then who picked up Bill?” Greg raised an eyebrow.

“There better not be any cigarettes!” Frank boomed.

Greg just slowly turned to look at his older brother, a wide, toothy grin spreading across his face.

“I swear to fucking God,” Rodrick hissed under his breath, already at his limit.

The next day at school at Crossland High, Rodrick Heffley actually had a reason to want to be at school, for once. He’d anxiously waited through all of his classes, hoping to be able to go off and find Sara. He knew she spent most of her time outside, and he knew she would occasionally draw outside. That was about it.

The minute the bell rang for lunch, he raced out of math to try and find Bill’s younger sister, hoping she’d recognize him from the day before. After checking the school cafeteria, Rodrick headed out to the courtyard, unable to find Sara anywhere. Eventually, he gave up and retired to the front parking lot of the school. He randomly decided to wandered off to the side, wondering what he should do with the rest of his time. Naturally, he happened upon just the person he was looking for.

Rodrick couldn’t believe that after all that searching, he’d found Sara Walter sitting underneath the big tree not far from the parking lot, cigarette hanging out of her mouth as she lazily drew in a sketchbook, headphones in.

He had no idea how to approach her, not just because she was preoccupied with her headphones in, but also because she was in the same league as girls like Heather Hills, who he also didn’t stand a chance with. But Rodrick figured that as he stood there, Sara would eventually notice him anyways, so he’d better just walk over and announce himself.

This was an effective tactic to use on himself. Rodrick slowly approached Sara, awkwardly clearing his throat. She looked up at him, pushing down her headphones as she greeted him, loud music still playing.

“Hey,” he said nervously.

“Hey. You’re from the band. Rodrick, right?” she asked as he sat down.

“Yeah,” he said with relief.

“Sorry, I’m bad with names,” she mumbled as she drew.

“No, it’s cool,” Rodrick said coolly, “Me too.”

He looked at her as she drew, not sure how to carry the conversation. His eyes eventually settled on her cigarette.

“Can I have a drag?” he asked her.

“Yeah. Sure,” Sara said kindly, handing him the cigarette.

“Thanks,” he nodded, taking a decent drag before handing it back.

“Do your parents know that you smoke?” she made conversation.

“No,” Rodrick shook his head, “I just spray cologne on and blame it on Bill.”

Sara chuckled at his response. “Yeah, fair enough. I used to do the same thing.”

“Do your parents know?” he wondered.

“Yeah,” she nodded her head, “They kinda stopped caring what I do because of Bill. And our dad.”

“Why, what did your dad do?” Rodrick asked curiously.

“Our dad was in a shitty punk band back in the day. He used to be on a bunch of shit,” she murmured as she attended to the details of her artwork.

“Are your parents still together?”

“No. Our dad left. He went to jail when I was two, and then he left again for the last time when I was four. Then my mom married Randy, and had our little brother,” Sara mumbled, not looking up.

“How do we feel about Randy?” Rodrick genuinely wanted to know.

“Randy’s a real fuckface,” she snapped, holding the cap to her pen in her mouth as she made some final adjustments to her work.

“What you drawing?” he asked her.

“Here,” Sara said, passing him the large sketchbook. “I’ve been working on this for, like, two days.”

“Whoa,” Rodrick said, examining the dragon she’d drawn.

It was impressive, like nothing he’d ever seen. It was a large dragon drawn in a very unique, spiky sort of art style, like a lot of modern designs. Something about it seemed vaguely tribal.

“This is cool as fuck,” he stared. “Like a tattoo.”

“Yeah… I wanna become an apprentice when I turn 18.”

“Like, to a wizard?” Rodrick looked at her in confusion.

“No, to tattoo artist,” she said softly, trying to hide her reaction.

“Oh. That makes more sense,” he thought, looking back down at her work. “What’s that style?”

“Cybersigilism,” she told him. “I can do that, and traditional.”

“Cool,” he exclaimed, flipping through the book. “You should do one for me once you get the job.”

Sara looked at him skeptically. “You’d trust me to do that?” she said flatly.

“Yeah,” he nodded, not missing a beat, “Why not?”

“…Because I have zero experience?” she pointed out.

“But you’re a really good drawer,” Rodrick reasoned.

She just smiled at his blissful ignorance. “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I’d be a good tattoo artist.”

“I don’t care,” he shrugged, “I want you to do it. I think it’d look good enough.”

“You realize it’d be on your body forever, right?”

“A bad tattoo is a good story,” Rodrick shrugged.

“You’re right about that,” Sara said as she crushed out her cigarette.

“Hey, are you coming by later to pick Bill up from practice?” Rodrick asked hopefully.

“Oh,” she said after a moment, “Bill forgot to tell you?”

“…Tell me what?” he asked worriedly.

“I’m gonna join you guys for practice today. My job’s closing early today,” she explained.

“Oh. Cool,” Rodrick remarked, stifling his internal ‘Yes!’ “Where do you work?”

“At this restaurant on the north side. It’s like a bar and restaurant. A lot of rich people go there.”

“Oh, you’re a waitress?” he asked.

“Yeah,” Sara nodded.

“Hot,” Rodrick nodded, stopping as he realized he probably shouldn’t have been speaking out loud. “Sorry.”

“The Family Legacy”

Finished Now and Then, Here and There and my head is buzzing. I think the most upsetting thing was the pro-life bent to Sara’s storyline. Still scratching my head about that because. Genuinely what the fuck ???

Sara, like other girls/women Hamdo captures, is subjected to forced rape by the soldiers for breeding. This is horrifying, and the writing thankfully treats it like the horror that it is, and is never gratuitous. It’s not needlessly there, it’s there to reflect the real world genocides and brutality the series was based on, and fits in with the grim realism the series depicts of war.

Sara kills her would be attacker, escapes from prison hood on her own, and starts a life in Zari-Bars (I can’t rmbr the name of this place sorry😭) All of this would be fair I think, but things get off the rails very fast. In Zari-Bars she’s revealed to be pregnant, which is absolutely horrifying. Sara, a child, seriously struggles with the trauma of being kidnapped, raped, and now pregnant. All of this is VERY serious and distressing subject matter, and the anime really drops the ball in handling it.

The anime shows her in desolation over her trauma, but has a big emotional lesson where she tries to crush her abdomen with a rock and Shu repeatedly puts his hand there to save the baby, after slapping her for saying she wishes she and the baby were dead? The scene paints Sara in the wrong for wanting her baby to die. Then when Sis, the maternal figure who took her in, is on her death bed, her dying words to Sara are not to hate the baby. There’s such a pro-life bent to this storyline, prioritizing the babys life over Sara’s trauma and body autonomy? If she WASNT a child and got pregnant through consensual sex, it would still be weird as fuck for everyone to be going on about saving the baby!!! now factor that in with it was through rape, and she’s also a child!!! What the fuck were the writers thinking?

What makes this all EVEN weirder?? The doctor OFFERS an abortion in the very scene he reveals she’s pregnant. It’s not like she has no access to any safe or healthy abortion methods, and so aborting the child would be a threat to her life. It’s presented to us as existing in this world. Which makes the pro-life stuff, even fucking worse/weirder/more misogynistic.

Ultimately the Sara pro-life bent is the biggest stain on Now and Then, Here and There, and is what I think prevents it from being elevated to top echelon of anime. It’s very disappointing because of the incredibly serious and delicate subject matter, and the severity of the content and themes presented. Everything else in the series about war and violence is done very well, making this even more awful. I also read the anime’s director sexual harassed Sara’s voice actor, who I’m so sorry for, so sexist awful men making sexist awful writing choices. Shame because of how much else the series has to offer. Sara deserved so much better.

When the Duke Was Wicked: Rum! On! Lips! Obviously! But I also really love the moment when Lovingdon is like "well we must get married now that we've had sex and I think it'll be great because we're really good buddies and do sex good" and Grace is like "... what" before gathering the blankets up around her being all "GET OUT" in a very dignified manner. He was flabbergasted

The Bride Goes Rogue: lol similarly Preston Clarke doing a "BUT WHAT ELSE IS THERE?" proposal and Katherine politely turning him down, to which he reacts by stumbling to her dad, who he hATES, all she *sob* won't *sob* marry *sob* me!!!!

The Duke Gets Even: the entire book but especially--"I'm going to cover you in bite marks, darling"; Nellie finding out Lockwood's Secret and clearly falling for him in that moment and him being like "pls calm the fuck down I'm only like dying basically"; the pool scene; the scene where he gets trashed to impress her cousins and they're all lmao Nellie isn't a virgin and he goes "THANK CHRIST FOR THAT"; "I'm keeping you, Eleanor" both times; the scene where he finds out nobody in law enforcement cares about him being a duke, like, at all; the scene where he manfully walks away from her and you can tell he's thisclose to bursting into tears the entire time

Okay I’m not very good at hcs bc i take a lot at face value 💀 (¡autism!) so these may not count as hcs and more like assumptions ?! But that’s all i can offer I’m sorry.

My most strongly held hc is that the scar on Simon’s face is from Micke (☹️). And that he did more harm to Sara and Simon than has been addressed in the show. I think there is a deeper reason why they agreed not to have secrets between the two of them that has to do with Micke. I hope we get answers to this s3. I will be very disappointed if we never find out.

(Also he is just so pretty in this picture i think i’m dying a little inside every time i see it)

Day 17: Hot day

This is a part 2 of the "Day 3 Road Trip" that you can find here.

"When you said that in Italy was dying of heat, you weren't kidding...": Keith complained, trying to fan himself with his hands as he felt the sweat run down his forehead and down his neck.

"I told you, every year in the Po Valley it gets worse and worse": she replied, swinging slowly on an old wooden swing, now used to too much heat. The couple had quickly isolated themselves from the rest of the people talking around the table set in the distance, although every now and then Keith saw someone giving him dirty looks.

"Don't worry, I've never really grown fond of my Italian side of the family": she explained: "Even all my second or third cousins or uncles almost never speak to me. Besides, many of my aunts are bitches. When I was little, all they did was gossip about my mother's American accent."

She had said the last sentence with a slight sense of anger and offense in her tone, as he continued to wade through the group of middle-aged and older women gossiping.

"You know, I'm actually glad you're here. At least I have an excuse to get away ": she continued, while a rather plump lady in a wheelchair came out of her house.

"She is my grandmother, I think she is the only person in this family that I really care about": she explained, while smiling and waving her hand:" Her father served in the third world war, our family got rich this way and she will divide everything between my father, Matt and me. Maybe that's why deep down many hate us"

"But I saw you talking to those ladies over there and that blonde girl": Keith pointed out, while his wife looked at him with a tired and annoyed look.

"Cousin Sara is a bitch. She knows English very well but she speaks Italian knowing perfectly well that you don't know it": she rolled her eyes grumbling: "And the aunts are the classic mother-in-law of shit. Since I was six they've been pestering me about a boyfriend, then when you and I were dating they wanted a fucking wedding and this year, even though we've been married for less than a month, they keep complaining that I have a baby the first possible!"

She complained, continuing to gesticulate and grumble about how little she is attached to that family and that, fortunately, they lived on two different continents.

"Pidge, Katie...": Keith interrupted, kneeling in front of her and looking into her eyes: "That... What you said in the car... is true?"

"What? That today will be the worst day of all? Yes, it's true": she sighed, shaking her head and almost suddenly feeling the desire to cry.

"No... I mean...": Keith stammered, trying to find the right words from her, while he felt her eyes water, feeling a new emotion in her chest: "Are you... are you pregnant?"

"Oh...that!": She exclaimed, laughing and finally letting two tears fall, she nods biting her lip: "Yes... Yes, I am..."

"Wow...": he didn't know what to say. His words caught in her throat as his mind raced about the future, a future as a father.

"Thank you... thank you...": he limited himself to saying about her, embracing her with strength and with such a push that she almost fell off her swing, crying on her shoulder from her happiness at that news from her. It wasn't really planned, but just because it was unexpected didn't mean it was bad. They had never had talks about starting a family, but he knew she was the woman he would live with until the end of time.

"Keith, it's hot and I'm all sweaty there's no need to wet my shirt any more than it already is": she laughed, at least just to break the silence between them.

"Oh, right, sorry love...": he smiled, wiping away his tears and breaking her embrace, looking at her with eyes full of love thinking where the heck he found such a woman and how lucky they fell in love with her.

"So... you didn't tell anyone...?": he asked, remaining on his knees in front of her.

"No... I couldn't stand those chickens anymore": she shook her head:" And then... I would have preferred to tell my parents and Matt in private first. It's difficult even for them today, it always has been..."

"I see...": he nodded, while turning his gaze towards the crowd he saw everyone sitting in their seats, while Pidge got up from the swing, dusting off her white fluttering dress: "I think lunch is ready, come, I'll introduce you to my grandmother "

She smiled, he smiled back as they approached the long white table arm in arm.

When Kirby 'comes around' she's in a hospital bed, Eddie whispering a prayer by her side, holding her right hand tight, and her parents rushing into the room.

"Eddie... Edward... why are my parents here?" She asks, her voice weak, but just loud enough to hear.

"Kirby? Sweetheart, you're awake?!" Eddie beams, leaning over the hospital bed to kiss her deeply, then realising that she wasn't kidding when she asked the question.

Her father clears his throat, before walking up to his daughter's opposite side, followed by Kirby's mother, who scoots past her husband to check on her only baby.

"Helo [Hi] Mam." Kirby whispers, smiling softly, when her mother kisses her on the head.

Eddie seems to back off slightly, letting Kirby's mother hug her close.

"O fy maban bach tlawd, wyt ti'n iawn fy nhywysoges? Fe gawson ni'r awyrwen gyntaf allan, methu â mentro peidio â gweld ein merch fach pan mae hi wedi brifo. [Oh my poor little baby, are you alright my princess? We got the first flight out, couldn't risk not seeing our baby girl when she's hurt.]" Kirby's mother whispers.

"Byddaf yn iawn, mae'n debyg mai dim ond anaemia neu rywbeth sy'n dod yn ôl o fy arddegau. Dw i'n dy garu di hefyd, mam. [I'll be okay, it's probably just anaemia or something coming back from my teenage years. I love you too, mum.]" Kirby replies weakly, looking over at her parents and then at Eddie.

Eddie turns his cap backwards and smoothes his tank-top out, hiding his rosaries between his two tank-tops, clearly trying to present the best version of himself in his mind.

"Eddie, my parents. Mam and Da, this is Eddie, the guy I lost to and the man I am in love with."

"You better be nice to my little girl, or else I'll-" Kirby's dad growls protectively.

"Hywel Críostóir Taran Donndubán Rhydderch, you apologise to that young man right now." Kirby's mother orders.

"Oda, I'm just-" Hywel attempts to argue his case, before looking at the anger in his tiny, Scottish fireball, wife, "I'm sorry, Eddie. Obviously, I need to trust my little princesses' choices more."

"It's fine, I get it, ya daughter starts datin' a guy, you don't know him, ya get worried because what if she's in a bad situation. My brother went through it with his wife. Her folks thought that this kid, from New York, was a little too 'street' for their angel, ended up telling him to be extra careful."

"Yeah, but you, my handsome warrior, Kingy, are Irish-American on your father's side, hence those beautiful green eyes of yours." Kirby mumbles, stroking Eddie's arm as she talks.

Hywel's eyes light up, "An Irish boy, I really should trust my daughter more... Also, 'Kingy', princess, are you forgetting that we are already considered royalty by our surname? After all, 'Rhydderch' means 'Exalted King'." He states proudly.

"So, you're Half-Irish?" Oda asks gently, "What about the other half?"

"Puerto Rican, though my mother still raised me Catholic. Kirby knows all about my Catholic guilt, and how bad I wanna beat Damien's head in." Eddie grunts, clearing his throat and standing up, getting pulled into a 'manly' hug by Hywel.

Kirby's parents soon leave her and Eddie alone together, Eddie still slightly shaken by the hug from Kirby's dad. Kirby distracts him from his thoughts, pulling him into a kiss by the front of his tank-top.

"You just said the one thing my Da's been waiting to hear someone, anyone actually, say since Damien got involved in my career." She whispers, her eyes locking with his.

"Your father's fuckin' scary for a guy shorter than me." Eddie murmurs, holding Kirby close.

"You smell like cigarettes, it's strangely calming to me."

"I've been here all night, Moxie had to drag me away so I would eat somethin'."

Eddie kisses Kirby's forehead, holding her close and breathing deeply. Kirby grips onto Eddie's shoulders when the lights shut off in the room, the emergency power sustaining the machines in the room and deep red 'emergency' lights.

"The fuck is goin' on? Was there a power outage or somethin'?" Eddie grumbles, about to go and see what's going on, Kirby tightens her grip on his shoulders, "You scared of the dark, babe?"

"Please don't tell anyone, but yes, I'm terrified of the dark." She whispers, her voice trembling.

Eddie raises an eyebrow, holding Kirby tighter, kissing her forehead and neck to keep her calm. Kirby moves her hands to Eddie's face, cupping his head in her hands. He climbs into the hospital bed next to her, holding her close as they fall asleep. When they wake up, entangled in each other's embrace, Eddie kisses Kirby lazily, breathing a sigh of relief when she opens her eyes.

"What's the time, Kingy?" Kirby murmurs, still half-asleep.

Eddie checks his phone, "It's eight in the mornin', babe-alicious."

"The feck did you just call me?"

"Babe-alicious." He shrugs, kissing her before getting up.

It takes around an hour for Kirby to be released, with a new prescription, her parents joining her and Eddie as they head to the drug store. Eddie never once lets go of her right hand, clinging to it like a lifeline. Kirby gets her iron supplements and Xanax, picking up enough to last her a month. Her father then drives them to a café, they get a small table in a quieter area, making sure Eddie sits next to him.

"So, you plan on kicking Damien's ass?" Hywel asks Eddie, keeping an eye on Kirby.

"Yea, I plan on makin' him pay, for all the shit he put my lady through. I will pound him into Hell, where he says he's from, so it'll be a warm welcome home. I am gonna show him how much pain he put Kirby through, and more, much fuckin' more."

Hywel nods in agreement, holding his hand out to Eddie, "Well, I feel secure in this," He looks over at Oda, she nods in agreement, Kirby raises an eyebrow in confusion, "Welcome to the family, son."

Eddie accepts the handshake, "You mean that... sir?"

"Absolutely, but I will still destroy you if you break her heart, after all she's still my little princess." Hywel growls in Eddie's ear.

Eddie looks nervously over at Kirby, he's already backed into the corner of the building, a look of fear in his eyes.

"Da, stop threatening my boyfriend, this is why no one dated me before. They met you and it was, 'I'll destroy you, you hurt her, I'll hurt you, I know every weak spot, I own an axe, I can chop you up'." Kirby murmurs, doing a rather spot-on of her father.

"Hywel, stop it. Do you ever want grandchildren? Because this is not how you get grandchildren." Oda grumbles, smacking his arm.

"I think that could be arranged," Eddie smirks, "you keep me alive, I give you and Oda grandchildren."

"Eddie, no." Kirby whines, not quite ready for children.

"Deal." Hywel grins

"Dad!" Kirby squeaks in shock.

"Hywel!" Oda groans, shaking her head, at her husband's habit of talking without thinking.

"But ya gotta keep me alive, I ain't being a deadbeat dad, or a dead dad." Eddie explains, smiling when Kirby's father nods in agreement.

Kirby stares at Eddie, a look of total confusion on her face. It takes her a while to even close her mouth, let alone recognise that Ethan, Eli and Moxley have come to check up on the couple. Her parents leave them to order and get their meal.

"Everything okay Kirby?" Eli asks, gently checking on her tall friend.

"I'm fine, this motherfucker though, ain't getting any sex, for a year, if he says anything else to my Da." She grumbles.

"What did you do, Eddie?" Mox chuckles, sitting next to him as Ethen tries his hardest not to laugh.

"I made a deal. Her dad keeps me alive, I give him grandchildren. He could've said no. It's her father's fault she's mad. All I gotta do is try to get her pregnant, He's gotta make sure Damien doesn't kill me."

"You did what?" Ethan giggles, "You made a deal? That's not a deal, Eddie."

"Technically it is a deal, If Eddie were to just say 'we're trying for a baby' every time we fuck, my Da would have no choice, but to keep up his end of the deal, providing Eddie with the protection of my entire family." Kirby explains.

Eddie's eyes go wide, "Ya entire family, that's a fuck ton of people, all I gotta do is say that... and I get, like a hundred or more, trained wrestlers as protection? Kirby, baby, sweetheart... I know what I said was dumb, but that's crazy."

"But it's true, except for maybe my uncles, they would have to meet you... all of them would have to meet you, then they'd decide. Either you charm my whole family, and get a literal wrestling family as protection, or you fail at that and get your ass kicked."

"You only have, what, seven uncles?" Eddie shrugs.

"No, Eddie, my entire family... ugh, just forget it, I'm gonna grab my coffee from my Da before he drinks it." Kirby huffs, getting up as Eddie does the same.

Eddie pulls her into a heated kiss, stopping her from leaving his sight, he traps her in his arms and refuses to let go.

"Eddie, my Da will actually drink my coffee, Edward, you gotta let me move."

"I'm not lettin' you outta my sight, I thought I lost ya yesterday." He whispers in her ear.

"Then come with me, you oaf." She groans, still grumpy with him.

"The fuck does that mean?" He raises an eyebrow.

"It means you're being a jackass, you know, like making a deal to get me pregnant... We aren't even married, and I've never met your parents... and you're Catholic, which makes that deal sinful."

"Shit," Eddie murmurs, "ya right, I really should have thought about it. A'ight, I'll see if my parents can get down here before your folks leave. I'm sure they'll love ya, but I gotta make sure ya dad won't kill mine. Can I still kiss ya, babygirl?"

Kirby kisses Eddie softly before leaving to get her coffee, returning and sitting on Eddie's lap. He pushes Ethan's phone away as Kirby's parents come back, making 'All Ego' move to stand behind Eli as he films.

"Hywel, Oda, this is Ethan Page, Eli Lucifarian and, my best friend, Jon Moxley," Eddie introduces Kirby's parents to the trio.

"Lucifarian, as in you represent a sin. Envy, I'm guessing." Oda says, shaking hands with Eli.

"Your best friend? So I can tell you to stop my future son-in-law hiding his rosaries. I was raised an Irish Catholic too." Hywel chuckles, shaking hands with Moxley and Ethan.

"Are we still on for the gaming stream later, Me, you and Geia?" Eli asks Kirby.

"Yeah, I'll text you when I'm outside your hotel room. Two hours, right, six 'till eight?"

"That's fine with me, I'll see you two later." Eli smiles softly, leaving the group and heading off.

Eventually Eddie and Kirby leave, Her parents get a room next to the couple. Eddie calls his parents, and keeps Kirby in his grasp for the majority of the day.

"Ma says she'll grab dad and fly out tomorrow, how long are ya parents stayin'?"

"According to my Da, they'll be here for a month. Judging from the look Mam gave him, they'll be here at least two."

"You wanna get started on my end of the deal now, or?" He smirks, winks and raises an eyebrow.

Kirby glares at Eddie, hitting him in the arm and changing her clothes (finally) into something fresh.

"'When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around Him while He was by the lake. Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when He saw Jesus, He fell at His feet. He pleaded earnestly with Him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” So Jesus went with him.

A large crowd followed and pressed around Him.

While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”

Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at Him.

After He put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with Him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

When my daughters were young, we tried an experiment.

I asked Jenna, then eight years old, to go to one side of the den. I had Andrea, six, stand on the other. Three-year-old Sara and I sat on the couch in the middle and watched. Jenna’s job was to close her eyes and walk. Andrea’s job was to be Jenna’s eyes and talk her safely across the room.

With phrases like, “Take two baby steps to the left” and, “Take four giant steps straight ahead,” Andrea successfully navigated her sister through a treacherous maze of chairs, a vacuum cleaner, and a laundry basket.

Then Jenna took her turn. She guided Andrea past her mom’s favorite lamp and shouted just in time to keep her from colliding into the wall when she thought her right foot was her left foot.

After several treks through the darkness, they stopped and we processed. “I didn’t like it,” Jenna complained. “It’s scary going where you can’t see.” “I was afraid I was going to fall,” Andrea agreed. “I kept taking little steps to be safe.” I can relate, can’t you? We grown-ups don’t like the dark either. But we walk in it.

We, like Jenna, often complain about how scary it is to walk where we can’t see. And we, like Andrea, often take timid steps so we won’t fall.

We’ve reason to be cautious: We are blind. Blind to the future.

It’s one limitation we all share. The wealthy are just as blind as the poor. The educated are just as sightless as the unschooled. And the famous know as little about the future as the unknown.

None of us knows how our children will turn out. None of us knows the day we will die. No one knows whom he or she will marry or even if marriage lies before him or her. We are universally, absolutely, unalterably blind.

There are times in life when everything you have to offer is nothing compared to what you are asking to receive.

We are all Jenna with her eyes shut, groping through a dark room, listening for a familiar voice — but with one difference. Her surroundings are familiar and friendly. Ours can be hostile and fatal. Her worst fear is a stubbed toe. Our worst fear is more threatening: cancer, divorce, loneliness, death.

And try as we might to walk as straight as we can, chances are a toe is going to get stubbed and we are going to get hurt.

Just ask Jairus. He is a man who has tried to walk as straight as he can. But Jairus is a man whose path has taken a sudden turn into a cave — a dark cave. And he doesn’t want to enter it alone.

Jairus is the leader of the synagogue. That may not mean much to you and me, but in the days of Christ the leader of the synagogue was the most important man in the community. The synagogue was the center of religion, education, leadership, and social activity. The leader of the synagogue was the senior religious leader, the highest-ranking professor, the mayor, and the best-known citizen all in one.

Jairus has it all. Job security. A guaranteed welcome at the coffee shop. A pension plan. Golf every Thursday and an annual all-expenses-paid trip to the national convention.

Who could ask for more? Yet Jairus does. In fact, he would trade the whole package of perks and privileges for just one assurance — that his daughter will live.

The Jairus we see in this story is not the clear-sighted, black-frocked, nicely groomed civic leader. He is instead a blind man begging for a gift. He fell at Jesus’ feet, “saying again and again, ‘My daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so she will be healed and will live’” (Mark 5:23 NIV).

He doesn’t barter with Jesus. He just pleads.

There are times in life when everything you have to offer is nothing compared to what you are asking to receive. Jairus is at such a point. What could a man offer in exchange for his child’s life? So, there are no games. No haggling. No masquerades. The situation is starkly simple: Jairus is blind to the future and Jesus knows the future. So Jairus asks for His help.

And Jesus, who loves the honest heart, goes to give it. And God, who knows what it is like to lose a child, empowers His Son. But before Jesus and Jairus get very far, they are interrupted by emissaries from Jairus’s house.

“Your daughter is dead. There is no need to bother the teacher anymore” (v. 35 NIV).

Get ready. Hang on to your hat. Here’s where the story gets moving. Jesus goes from being led to leading, from being convinced by Jairus to convincing Jairus. From being admired to being laughed at, from helping out the people to casting out the people.

Here is where Jesus takes control. But Jesus paid no attention to what they said… — v. 36 NRSV

I love that line! It describes the critical principle for seeing the unseen: Ignore what people say. Block them out. Turn them off. Close your ears. And, if you must, walk away. Ignore the ones who say it’s too late to start over.

Disregard those who say you’ll never amount to anything.

Turn a deaf ear toward those who say that you aren’t smart enough, fast enough, tall enough, or big enough — ignore them.

Faith sometimes begins by stuffing your ears with cotton.

Jesus turns immediately to Jairus and pleads:

Don’t be afraid; just believe. — Mark 5:36 NIV

Jesus compels Jairus to see the unseen. When Jesus says, “Just believe,” He is imploring, “Don’t limit your possibilities to the visible. Don’t listen only for the audible. Don’t be controlled by the logical. Believe there is more to life than meets the eye!”

“Trust me,” Jesus is pleading. “Don’t be afraid; just trust.”'

Could I request Laszlo reacting to his wife dying in child birth? Sorry if that's too dark, I enjoy your writing and was in such an angsty mood :)

Warnings: Death, Sad Laszlo

A/N: As I got to the main part (you'll know what part) terrible things by mayday parade started to play and like the timing was so perfect because it fits so well and now I am sobbing.

Extra A/N: Okay literally out of every song on my sad playlist it's choosing all the ones about or that can be associated with death, this is unfair. First 'Terrible things', then 'if I die young' and now 'all I want'. Wtf.

- You and Laszlo were so excited to start your family. You still remember the moment first moment you told Laszlo you were pregnant. You don't think he had ever kissed you as passionately as he did at that moment. He was crying tears of joy as he managed to rest both his hands on the slight bump.

- He became so protective of you, being extremely cautious about everything you did so that you were okay. His arm would be constantly wrapped around you, helping you to new places as it got harder for you to move around.

- Every night he would whisper to you how excited he was your child to be born. He would tell you all the things he planned to do with the child, places he would show them, books he would read, all that he would teach him. In his life he had always been searching for some purpose, it's why he started the institute but he had never felt more like he had found his purpose when you told him you were pregnant. Everything just felt right.

- He'd shower you in kisses every day, telling you how wonderful you were, how beautiful you were. How he loved and adored every little thing about you. John often remarked that he never thought he would see Laszlo expressing his feelings so much until you came along.

- Unfortunately, Laszlo was not at home when your contractions started. You and Sara were having a tea party in the garden when you felt your water break. She managed to guide you into the living room to lay down on the bed, where she managed to call John who rushed to go and fetch Laszlo from his work

- You were screaming in pain as you clutched Sara's hand tightly, it was one of the worst feelings you felt. You wanted it to all be over but the shock waves of pain kept crashing into you and you were beginning to feel so weak. There was a ringing in your head as your eyes became blurry from the pain as you tried to breathe in and out. From the side of your eyes, you could see Sara become paler as he gathered lots of sheets to try and stop the blood from staining the sofa. She didn't know much about giving birth but she didn't believe there should be as much blood as to what was currently coming out of you

- Laszlo had never sprinted so fast to his carriage. After John ran into the room he was in with Theodore what was happening he had charged into it and told Cyrus to get him back to the house as quickly as possible. Already a lot of time had been lost with how long it had taken for John to be informed and then to find out where Laszlo was and rushed to get him.

- As he arrived pain stuck his heart as he heard your shouts of pure pain even from outside the house. He quickly barged into the house, frantically looking for where you were. Usually, men waited outside the room for the baby to be born but he couldn't bear being away from this moment, plus it was unlikely they would be able to get you to a hospital in time and he was the only one even slightly qualified to deal with this.

- He was at your side the whole time, letting you clutch his hand tightly as you squeezed. He kissed your forehead lots of times reassuring you that you were doing great and that it would all be over soon as he anxiously watched where you were pushing. There was so much blood, more than there should be and he didn't need to know from Sara whispering to him 'something is wrong' but everything would be okay. They had to be. They will be.

- After hours the baby emerged. John helped Laszlo pull the child, which was a girl out, and positioned her in his arm. Laszlo's eye sparkled with joy as he looks down at his daughter. 'Look y/n' he mumbles, bringing your daughter over to your side but as he looked back up at you, panic gripped him. You were barely conscious and the ghost of a smile was on your lips as your half-closed eyes looked over at Laszlo holding your child in his arms.

- You shakingly lifted your hand slightly, whispering to Laszlo to hold your hand. He passed your daughter to Sara as he clasped your hand. He started begging you to stay awake, to keep pushing through and that you would be okay as he covered your hand in kisses and clasped it tightly to his chest. His eyes swarmed with tears as you shook your head slightly. 'I love you Laszlo' you whisper before your eyes finally close and your hand goes slack in his.

- He screamed, cried, let out all sorts of noises as he clasped your body, pulling it over to cradle in his arms. Sara and John quickly left the room taking your daughter with them so that Laszlo could have this moment of peace. Tears flowed out of his eyes and fell onto your ever-growing cold skin. He kissed your forehead, closing his eyes as he whispered at you to come back, that he couldn't do this without you, but you never did.

- For the next month Laszlo was an echo of himself. He hardly talked to anyone or interacted with any of the kids at the institute. It was as if a part of himself switched off the day you died. What was supposed to be the happiest day of his life became his worst. Sara stayed around the first few nights looking after your daughter as Laszlo grieved but after a while, she had to go. Laszlo wanted nothing more than to be with his daughter but every time he looked at her he felt the pain of losing you come straight back.

- He blamed himself entirely for your death. He was the doctor he should be done more to ensure your safety, he should have never left you alone that day. It was stupid of him to ever consider working when you were due, if he had been there he could have taken you to a proper hospital. John tried to tell him that it was just a cruel twist of fate and there was nothing else Laszlo could have done but Laszlo refused to listen. He was to blame, that was sure.

- Laszlo hired a nanny to help look after your daughter. He knew in the state he was he couldn't look after her, he needed help. He assumed after a few months he would be able to take on more of a parental role for her but the pain never faded. Especially as the more your daughter grew the more he realised she was a spitting image of you.

- It was like she became another child of the institute. He would watch her play with the other children but he was almost a stranger to her. After missing out on those early years of bonding he just didn't know how to anymore. He desperately wanted to, he would push all the pain he felt inside to try and to talk to her, ask how her day is, even try to take her out to the fair which he thought she might enjoy. But his mind always wandered back to imaging doing all these things with his daughter with you. In the awkward silence between him and his daughter was the reminder that you were no longer there.

- In the end, he had to settle to knowing he would never be as close to his daughter as he truly wanted to, he had to watch her be happy from the side as he slowly caved inwards from his grief.

what i thought about fear street  1666 (TW! Spoilers)

I loved the 1666, but the 1978 is still the best. Besides, a quick question, I don't know if I didn't get everything right because I only watched 1666 twice so far, but if Nick had already delivered the current generation's serial killer (Ryan Torres), why did he name Sam? because you see, Ziggy wasn't possessed, she of course lived scared to death, traumatized and all, but she didn't become a serial killer, her name didn't end in the cave rocks, after all, she was “free”. Why Nick would conjure Sam's name so early when no one would question after Kate and Simon died and took the blame from everything that happened? Why send a note saying "it's happening again" to Christine when he was the reason it was happening? Other than that, Nick didn't deliver much as a villain lol. I don't think it's the actor because he was well as a Soloman, I think it's because we don't see his villainization(is that a word?)? Like, I've been suspicious of him since 1994, but it doesn't show him being actively evil in any of the movies, just that scene of him conjuring the names and the ending a few minutes before his death with Deena, but I couldn't worry or be scared, you know? I expected him to try to justify himself or something until the cave scene, I didn't feel vilification(again, is that a word?) in the character and i think I should because he's literally responsible for everyone's deaths, he’s the big bad wolf, the true monster under the bed.From 1994 to 1666 I could guess he was shady af but it gave me more “anti hero thats gonna sacrifice himself in the end/// doesn’t want to be a part of this////is a puppet and has no idea what’s actually going on” and what I got was “Good is Evil or whatever” like even when he was talking abt his family, which wasn’t much he should have talked about that, his character should have appeared more, I think it would have been nice if maybe a moralization of the character in that scene where he's chasing Deena, like "Oh, my family has been doing this for years, my brother and mother are important to me, my blood is sealed to the devil since I was a baby Sunnyvale's safety is the most important thing, I do this for peace" very lunatic and a tyrannical even, wich does not in any way justify his actions, but who adds content to him as a villain, especially in a trilogy that had two great movies with horrifying killers and deaths. It just fell flat to me, for the big bad guy to barely even have good action, scarry scenes. 

Even his relationship with Ziggy was a bit thrown, the importance he gave her was there for no particular reason, just to make the audience think he's nice and in love and surprise us in the end, which didn't work and it's a tactic I hate, the old trick of wanting to outsmart the audience, something Gossip Girl, Game of Thrones and Pretty Little Liars made me completely despise. I 1000000% prefer a structured and predictable outcome than something that will blow my mind for its lack of sense and meaning. ALSO I wouldnt be bothered if Nick was just evil to the core with no debpt whatsoever. Hell, most Sunnyvalers are! But the thing is that, by trying to outsmart the audience and try to lead us into believing Nick is a good guy, the writer (s) ruled that possibility out. You show him puking at seeing kids dying, him confessing how he didn’t want the “Goode” burden to fall of his back but he had no choice, putting Ziggy’s life over his well being, bringing Christine back to life, warning her about the monsters he’s sending to her town and even showing emotion when seeing her after a long time. NOTHING I said would make Nick any less of a monster who should rot in hell, but it clearly shows several colors and divergency on his way of thinking. And like I said, the writers could have given us evil Nick that played Ziggy’s heart and the entire Shadyside, but it doesn’t add up with all of that, at the same time all of that also don’t add up with the Nick we saw on 1666. If this movies were shot in different periods of time and not at once like it was I would say it was because the writers didn’t know who the bad guy truly was.

I won’t get into this, but someone important should’ve died. Like, bring the nurse back to avenge her daughter. Kill Ziggy (the idea of sacrificing Ziggy and Nick at the end ugh the waste). Kill somebody. This is a horror movie, nobody died. Yall could kill black and asian extras. Yall killed my sister Cindy, but couldn’t kill Ziggy? It made sense, she’d reunite with her sister! 

Anyway, I know it sounded like I hated the movie but I REALLY LOVED IT. The actors were all great, the chemistry was there, and although I wish we’d seen more of Sam than just her “ghrghrghrhr” until the very end, I loved how both queer main characters were alive in the end, and how they paid respect for Kate and Simon and how Sara was considered the very first Shadysider (although it was pastor Miller sksks). I loved seeing Simon and Kate’s face there again although it wasn’t really them. I loved that Sarah wasn’t the big bad wolf although I saw it coming and would love to see female rage (like that scene where she was like “If they want a witch, they’ll get a witch gave me chills) but like I said, I prefer prediction than disappointment and I wasn’t (disappointed)with that. 

THE END SCENE GOT ME EXCITED I HOPE THEY MAKE MORE OF THOSE BUT AT A DIFFERENT TIME SINCE LIKE THE BOOK WAS STOLEN. Also Cindy is my favorite character she legit showed up on flashbacks once and I cried.

▪︎poorlydrawnotgw - This was a blog created during the poorly drawn series meme period. It consisted of poorly drawn and very strange shitposts and has since been deactivated. I was a part of it as mod Goopy Wirt and only have a handful of images saved from it.

▪︎Read and Listen Book Lost Audio - A read and listen book was created, with the book being read by Greg's Frog, who would stop every now and again to talk about being a frog. The pages can be found online, but the audio is currently lost.

▪︎Skinless Witch - A scrapped episode concept involved a skinless witch that kidnapped Greg and rode him like a horse.

▪︎Gentleman Burglar Wirt - A scrapped concept in which Wirt breaks into a woman's home, who is charmed by this young man who has come to visit her.

▪︎Animal Transformation - It was originally planned for Wirt and Greg to be turned into a bear/dog and a duck and remain that way for several episodes. This was later used in the comics.

▪︎The Unknown is influenced by Wirt's mind/interests - The Unknown is influenced by those who walk in it, in this case, Wirt. This includes the old timey mystical nature of it, as Wirt has been stated to have an interest in old folk tales.

▪︎Good Guy Beast/Black Train Scrapped Concept - In an earlier draft, the brothers were on a train, heading to what they assumed was death. They jump off, ending up in the Unknown. The Beast tries to get them back on the train, which turns out to be heading back to life.

▪︎Evil Woodsman - At one point, the Woodsman was intended to be under the influence of the Beast and tried to sabotage the brothers's attempts to return home.

▪︎Lorna Reading the Tome of the Unknown in the Epilogue - In the epilogue, Lorna can be seen reading the titular book from the aforementioned scrapped plot.

▪︎The Beast was Originally the Devil Himself - The Beast was first designed as a devil-like character, the aforementioned Old Scratch.

▪︎The Brothers Never Went Home/The Hospital is Part of The Unknown - a theory based on the fact that the edges of the screen are still blurred at the end of chapter 10, the rushed narration, and the lack of consequences of nearly drowning.

▪︎Beatrice Seeing Wirt Nude - In one of the comics, Beatrice accidentally sees Wirt while he is washing his clothes in the river.

▪︎Sara is a Descendant of Lorna - A theory that Sara is a distant relative of Lorna.

▪︎Exists in the Same Universe as Clarence and Home Movies - The most well known piece of evidence is the overhead shot of the town matching the town that Clarence is set in. Wirt and Greg also have a cameo in another episode, and one of the final episodes shows Brendon Small of Home Movies runs a movie rental store in the town, connecting all three series together.
