I might have found a script link alternative to unpkg for Tippy.js which is what I use for my tooltip. I was rummaging through jsDelivr and found some links. I'm currently testing it out on a sideblog and will be updating (or giving you guys instructions to update the links yourself) when I feel like it's working properly.

I don't think it's your internet tumblr has been running like ass on desktop the past few days for me and a couple of other people. my guess is that staff is doing......... something

oh yeah it's like a mix of different things LMAO it was definitely partially my internet because everything's much smoother today but also unpkg seems to be down on and off lately?? which is why a lot of desktop themes aren't working properly. and also my security for safe internet browsing had blacklisted some links (like the default tumblr image link and the github repository of the theme maker whose theme i'm using) which ALSO caused my whole tumblr to freeze sometimes. so basically everything's fuck!
