the words you speak about another person will always, always, speak louder about you than them
#things it took me a long time to truly learn and internalize#both as the speaker and the one spoken of#no longer feeling responsibility for how others speak of me has been incredibly healing#and learning to speak with kindness even about people who have been harmful or who have wronged me also... healing#i doubt i will be heard but i just had a sudden urge to share a thought#forgive me for being old and feeling a random need to share hard won wisdom#the older i get the more i understand why old people are always trying to give advice#p.s. this is not a vaguepost or a callout to anyone#less old woman yelling at clouds and more old woman reflecting in her mirror
