Non-Canon Ship Analysis - Rasha/Frankie

...Have I never done a Rasha post in this series? How have I failed you all so?

Right, anyway, NC3. Frankie and Jonah broke up during the end of NC2 or over the break between seasons. Clean slate, no weird cheaty things for this couple, I want this as cute as I can.

Rasha Zuabi

Rasha’s so energized by normal high school stuff I feel like it makes her perfectly balanced to Frankie. Who is so jaded off the normal she looks for new and bigger ways to be. Rasha’s seen some real stuff and just wants to enjoy what seems ‘fun’ which is normal high school things.

So pairing her off with this little drama child will be fun.

Frankie Hollingsworth

Frankie’s big issue is she’s not sure of who she is. She knows who her parents want her to be, who her friends want her to be. But Frankie’s never really had to define herself exactly. It’s a different insecurity than Tris, Tris is envious of those around him and what they get. A ‘grass is greener’ sort of thing. Frankie is sure there’s a flaw she can’t see, so she creates them.

And that’s why someone with a bit more reality helps here.

The Set-Up

We start in the new shared QSA/Prayer Room as set-up by Zoe Rivas. Frankie is looking for someone to talk through her confusion. Something happened over the summer that has Frankie confused as to this. She wasn’t aware of the room assignment being shared, so she’s initially even less sure of what she’s doing.

Rasha is there too, because it is the prayer room, perfect cover for her to talk to some of the QSA students to figure out how the school is on LGBT things. And because Frankie is cute, a little lost, and a potential new friend, Rasha goes up to talk to her.

Frankie, being a little impulsive, just kinda blurts out what her concern is and runs off. Rasha eventually looks Frankie up to see how she’s doing. This jumpstarts their friendship. Even if Frankie and Rasha are both avoiding Frankie’s concerns. Until they aren’t. They eventually talk about it, and how Rasha’s been flirting with Frankie and she’s been too preoccupied to notice.

The Individual Journeys

Rasha’s journey is stumbling through a first open honest relationship for- all the reasons that happened in canon, just now with Frankie. How being ‘in the closet’ from people Rasha doesn’t rock the boat with (the list now being Goldi, Baaz, Hunter, Vijay, and Frankie’s parents) strains the relationship. A little softer on why she finally comes out to Goldi but a lot more misadventures miscommunicating.  

Rasha at the awkward house party of HugeIfTrue would be pretty great.

Frankie needs to work on confidence, to be open and honest in ways she’s really bad at. It’s not really a coming out story exactly, that’s just a part (a big part) of the many things Frankie just isn’t fully honest about. How she reacts to what people want of her rather than who she is.

Including snubbing Rasha to invite a boy to play her ‘boyfriend’ for a family photo op. Which would have been fine if she told Rasha (and the boy) about the issue, but she just did it to ‘not be like Miles.’ With her being told off by Rasha and Lola separately on how dumb that is. Lola’s being a reflection of Lola’s weird complicated not relationship with Miles, for the record.

The two plots converge with Frankie, deciding to be honest wanting to tell everyone about them. However this time she talks to Rasha about her concerns, and what it means, and if that’s okay. And Rasha, wanting all the things she sees in other couples at the school, wanting it too. Including finally telling Goldi... and that turning out alright. But Goldi still has to face her homophobia as a secondary plot to this.

Endgame?

I dunno... it’d be cute but cute doesn’t make for good plots. The advantage is more Rasha in the girl squad scenes and I am good with that.

Frasha Tatsu comes from a family who has held the Dragon Kwami for generations. The oldest of eight, this hothead has been kicked out of over 30 schools. She gets pretty protective of the people she’s close too.

I had this AU idea where three sets of the Amphibia girls (Anne, Sasha, Marcy), roleswaps of each other, were to meet with one another due to wibbly wobbly magic.

We'd have:

The original trio: Franne, Tasha and Narcy

The clockwise trio: Nanne, Frasha and Tancy

The anticlockwise trio: Tanne, Nasha and Farcy

Note that their nicknames are based on whether they were with frogs, toads or newts. So in another way, they'd be categorized as:

Frog trio: Franne, Frasha and Farcy

Toad trio: Tanne, Tasha and Tarcy

Newt trio: Nanne, Nasha and Narcy

I just think the interactions would be funny. Like;

Franne: So... You guys ended up with the Plantars too?

Frasha: Yep. And from the looks of it, we got the better deal.

Farcy: Other than the whole living in the wilderness thing. I was not made for that, haha.

Frasha: I'm going to guess that we all almost died a lot.

Nanne: I'm the Symbol of Newtopia, it's shining Blue Knight! What about you guys?

Nasha: I'm the captain of the Royal Guard. Beat that.

Narcy: I'm also a captain but like a different group!

Nanne: *crying because she doesn't have a group* T-that sounds great.

Tasha: Not if I kill you first!

Tarcy: *crying because her life was hell in Toad Tower and she's regretting the whole "life in another world" thing*
