Bridge collapses in Nova Scotia’s Colchester County

A bridge has collapsed in Nova Scotia’s Colchester County.

The Nova Scotia RCMP said Tuesday morning the collapse happened on Lake Road just outside Tatamagouche.

Due to a bridge collapse, Lake Rd. in #FrenchRiver #ColchesterCounty, is currently closed. Motorists are advised to use Trout Brook Rd. or Cooper Rd. This road closure will be indefinite. pic.twitter.com/E2ySAAoZwo

The area is closed to traffic indefinitely.

Drivers are advised to use Trout Brook Road or Cooper Road to avoid the scene.

The RCMP tweeted a photo of the collapsed bridge that shows an overturned transport truck partially in the French River.

There’s no word on if anyone was hurt what caused the collapse.

Spent a week fishing on the #FrenchRiver. Forgot it gets a bit chillier at night had to wear a garbage bag for trolling this evening. Adiposeur: No Native, No Glory.

“Tourlaville Fishing est mort, et de ses cendres naît Adiposeur.”

Pour les quelques anciens ayant connu l’émergence du Rockfishing en France, “Tourlaville Fishing” ne leur est pas inconnu. Les photos d’espèces marines en tous genres étaient bombardées massivement, sans répit, sur les réseaux sociaux , ainsi que des photos de truites et de paysages Normands.

Aujourd’hui, ce nom n’existe plus mais de ses cendres, sa descendance naît  ... Adiposeur, c’est le même état d’esprit que son prédécesseur, mais avec plus de maturité, de techniques et la volonté de partager ses connaissances halieutiques.

La vulgarisation et la sensibilisation pour amener à la protection, voilà l’objectif d’Adiposeur.

En effet, notre but est de faire connaître la faune et la flore des milieux aquatiques, mais aussi celles environnantes, afin de sensibiliser le public à la protection de l’environnement. La protection de certaines espèces menacées par l’activité humaine est nécessaire si nous voulons transmettre nos passions en lien avec l’environnement aux générations futures. Alors, pourquoi ne pas adopter des comportements plus éco-responsables dès aujourd'hui ?

“No Native, No Glory.”

Un slogan fort, pouvant être interprété comme “Il n’y a aucun mérite si ça n’est pas une espèce indigène.” L’introduction d’espèces exotiques n’est pas sans conséquence sur les espèces autochtones, bien souvent, cela a un impact majeur sur celles-ci. Prédation, concurrence alimentaire, apport de maladies en sont souvent des conséquences directes. De plus, la diversité des espèces, leurs multitudes de variantes de caractères en fonction du milieu caractérise un milieu, un domaine, une région, la rendant encore plus attrayante. C’est pourquoi nous attachons une réelle importance aux espèces autochtone/endémique ( native en anglais).

La lutte contre l’introduction d’espèce exotique et la protection des espèces autochtones, est notre objectif premier.

Adiposeur n’est pas qu’une simple page de rediffusion d’articles scientifiques, c’est aussi un lieu de partage de points de vue, de débats autour de l’écologie,  d’amitiés au bord de l’eau et aussi un lieu de diffusion de nos photos. 

Ce n’est que le début, à suivre de très, très près ...
