Continuing with that post canon au: Freyalen!

They got married, and moved in together to share both their living and working space. Freya's flower shop, thanks to Malen's artistic efforts, became one of the biggest tourist attractions in the entire town, being almost 100% accurate to the time period and having juuuust enough of a magical whimsical touch to be stunning. Freya herself is also a huge draw for tourists, and she gladly poses for photos like a Disney Princess in Disneyland.

Malen's art studio is one floor up, and during the tourist season Malen does master-classes, both indoor and outdoor, with the public.

Princess tutu fandom time

Oh Princess Tutu my beloved...

The first character I first fell in love with: 

Look at her. Just. Look. At. HER. The perfect protagonist, a disaster child of therapy and chaos, a duck turned human. An angel. Ahiru.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: 

Rue. I didn't hate her or anything when I first watched the show, but i could have never predicted that I'd love her this much. She's so beautifully tragic, and despite the supernatural elements of the story, her abuse is so realistic in spirit! Rue is so complex and human, shaped by her environment, warped by outside influences, vulnerable. She makes mistakes, horrible mistakes, but not because she's evil, just because she's flawed, trapped, lost and alone. And she repents these mistakes, she's remorseful once her tiny horizon is finally made bigger, and once she realizes that there is a different world out there, a better and kinder one. I love Rue because she deserves to be loved, and I'm incredibly happy that Mytho chose to love her most. I hope one day they both can heal in each others arms.

Favorite thing about them

Idk how to explain but i admire how she knows what she likes and goes for it? Like, everyone`s losing their shit over that contest, and she, a talented ballerina herself, never succumbs to the peer pressure or the crowd mentality and is like “Yeah, i guess i`m going to practice later” and goes along with her day watering her flowers because the flowers are clearly much more important to her. Kinda makes you wish for a thing to dedicate your life to the way Freya does :D

Least favorite thing about them

Partially because of her straightforwardness she feels more one-dimensional than, say, Malen or Hermia to me. 

Favorite line

Idk how it sounded like in the English dub exactly, but the line was akin to “I can`t hear the voices of the flowers anymore!” and it is such a bizarre line but the VA completely sells it XD

What even is an unpopular opinion on Freya? Maybe that she is, in a way, too perfect and thus boring. I still love her, but that`s a distant admiration of sorts.

FREYA AND MALEN OHHHHH <3 <3

So Malen catches the bouquet but ends up killing it rather quickly, so she decides to check with the florist who worked on the ruetho wedding.  She liked the arrangement fair enough, and it might perk her up a bit while the ruetho wedding and honeymoon is still the buzz of town.

Cue Malen meeting this real life Persephone who is absolutely drop dead gorgeous and just keeps rambling on about flowers, and Malen can’t do anything but keep nodding along.  She might as well have been shot through the heart by Cupid, but she is chastising herself internally like, “Didn’t you learn your lesson with Rue?  You can’t fall in love with every pretty girl you see!  What if she ends up having a husband and three kids?”

Meanwhile Freya thinks Malen is cute and likes flowers too, so after her long explanations, she gifts her a few seeds and asks if she’d like to check up on how they’re growing in a week, and Malen doesn’t know what to do but say yes.

As the wedding moves further and further into the past, Tutu and Malen start to move on in their romantic lives, but Autor is like, “You can’t leave me alone while I’m still bitter,” and has a Timon and Pumbaa moment from ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’
