Antennae??#Those wings which resemble superficially flies but are actually the back wings adapted for flight #while the front wings became halteres??#also these might be distantly related to beetles way back according to some info #I wonder if there is a relationship between beetles making front wings elytras and strepsiptera making theirs halteres #anyway really cool #been obsessed since first hearing about them #trying to find refs for the female though challenging

First Ghost doodle page of the year! As I test out a new way of maybe drawing their cloak, based on a headcanon of mine.

#hollow knight #little ghost #hk ghost #the knight #basically. the vessels' ''cloaks'' are without a doubt part of their body in some way. given that the dead vessels in the abyss have them #so... i figure maybe they're wings? admittedly i don't know enough about bug biology to know what else would make sense #(. though bug biology *does* go out the window when talking about vessels regardless dgshfgsf)#but there are other instances of tendril-y wings in the game (eg radiance grimmchild maskflies belflies etc) so! visually it checks out #but for whatever reason. ghost's wings don't naturally work #could be that they just hatched that way. could be from damage from the abyss. could be from the void halting the wings' development #not sure! but the mothwing cloak and monarch wings restore some functionality to ghost's natural wings #with whatever magic is embedded within the items #the mothwing cloak lets ghost propel themself forward with their wings #and the monarch wings temporarily transforms them into wings that actually work properly #so anyway! i decided to test out making the cloak more wing-like! ghost can wrap them around the front of their body #or they can just rest behind them like a cape #and they're translucent so some of their dark colour just comes from them being up against ghost's body #not sure if i'll keep drawing the cloak like this but! it was neat to test out at least!#and i'm really happy with how these three drawings came out <3 #good first art of the new year! ...even if i actually did the lineart in 2024 and just procrastinated on doing the shading dgsgshf

#my posts #gw2 #guild wars 2 #thinking about this a lot lately since mine def do!#I'll start: Pirkko has branded mounts and while I haven't named most of them. they were all branded over by Aurene #because they'd been corrupted by Kralkatorrik and they wanted to see if Aurene's magic could purify them in some way #it usually didn't work but Pirkko keeps the ones they saved #Larimar is her skyscale. his egg was tainted by the Brand before he hatched so Aurene was barely able to save him #he's a chivalrous knight type and is known to be just as noble as the Commander who raised him. brave. bold. kind of a dork.#while the Commander is fighting he circles up above and swoops down to rescue injured soldiers from the front line #Saoirse meanwhile gets the SoTo skyscale egg and that hatches into Nightshade. he's fierce and protective too #but in a much more 'loyal guard dog' sort of way as opposed to trying to help everyone else as well. he's an axejaw!#in Regrowth Ceara gets Foxglove because the Commander and Gorrik could NOT manage this little troublemaker #she's too smart for her own good and is CONSTANTLY causing problems. so basically just like Ceara HDKDHDH #Foxglove's a lunarmane! and she's very fluffy and cute and will give you the big shiny eyes to mooch all your food. evil #Ruju meanwhile has a full cast of different mounts who all were troublemakers in different ways when he found them #his griffon Windshear's a northern featherwing that was notorious for carrying off travelers in Lornar's Pass. turned out she was just bore #she's very playful and mischievous and still grabs him on a regular basis. he absolutely hates this #his fulgurite ridgeback jackal Thunderclap was a rogue jackal that the djinn had him help recapture and tame #he's imbued with Ruju's air element magic and is known to make the air spark and smell of ozone when he's annoyed #then there's Blitz his lepidote brute skyscale! he likes bloodstone magic and kept nipping everyone until it was finally provided #the rest I don't have in-game yet but I DO have concepts for the skimmer/warclaw/raptor. the 1st 2 I know what skins I want too #the skimmer will be a frosty-dyed lithosol named Frostbite. it's an ice elemental that terrorized Frostgorge Sound #the warclaw is a spinetail nian with jungle colors since it's supposed to be a smokescale-type saurian critter #and the raptor is SUPPOSED to be the jungle raptor that plointt grew to huge size and promptly tried to eat him #BUT there isn't a skin that feels close enough yet so rip. Fang is a handful tho and keeps trying to chew on Inquest HDJDGDH #ANYWAY. that's all of mine. throws this into the wind

go-4 design so he and auto can match,,his outfit is stewardess inspired to go with autos pilot outfit,,,,,auto doesnt let him use the form that often tho,,,he just keeps it away from him for "personal use" somewhere,,,,,,go-4 doesnt ask questions about it

#i kept trying to draw a version without his uniform but the best way i can explain it is that #the silver parts of his uniform on the front are magnetized to the doors of the hatch on his body so the clothes can open up with it #dont ask the specifics on how it looks when the uniform has to be taken off (probably by auto) i havent thought that far #also he does wear pants..which means auto made the decision not to because this is a reference to the fact that auto is a whore-#sorry my demons #wall e go 4

Really annoying that people took me saying “Suitcase having a simple opinion on Nickel after learning he got better and is extremely close with Balloon and making her decision on making up without actually talking to him is out of character, makes no sense and is boring” as “Suitcase and Nickel not making up is ooc” despite me literally having a post about how to have them not make up in an in character way.

Yes I think them making up is the most logical route considering everything (and healthiest as it means there’s no weird dynamic with Balloon) but like I’m more upset it’s. Nothing. And that they didn’t get to talk. Like they did nothing with them despite being, ya know, one of S2’s most important relationships? And what they did do really doesn’t, line up with itself? Does anyone remember the backstabber thing I remember the backstabber thing.

#there’s also bigger problems with Suitcase in the movie such as where did her anxiety disorder g #*go #And the whole eating the corpse of Mephone’s father in front of him thing #object posting #Also not the movie but truth or flare I will keep dragging that episode through the mud it was not written with hatching the plan in mind

Brought the dogs to a rally/obedience match and I'm so proud of them. Wish this behavior was here on Wednesday when I was recording those runs lmao. But for his first "trial" experience Hatchet handled the whole day very well, and I'm delighted that he's one of those dogs I can pull out of the car, spin and sit for 30 seconds, and then bring him into the ring and he's perfectly fine. His whole attitude is so fucking phenomenal.

Also discussed maybe entering him into some conformation shows because one of the instructors thinks he'd do very well (despite being working line) so that might be a thing in the future. We'll see what life throws at us this summer.

we had a fucking 'blood moon' lunar eclipse *and* an earthquake the night before the Tool show btw

#AND I got my period #thank u silicone cups for my Fucking Life bc i remember attending a concert with a tampon up the hatch #like weighing the mortifying ordeal of using a portapotty vs the harrowing possibility of toxic shock syndrome from leaving it in too long #but instead it was just. a very chill experience. All Things Considered #I'm fairly out of shape & the last time I attended one of these things was like??? 6+ years ago?#so I thought it'd be physically suuuuper taxing. Hm. I'm a little frustrated that I picked up a name that I'd actually like to give to a dragon from Witch Hat (Agathe), but also want to make a fandragon of a character from the same work (guess.)

I mean I do already have Gilmore all the way from before I realized dedicated fandragons were a thing (And Tomoe who kind of became a pseudo-fandragon), but I'm already weird about *that* association.
