For as long as she could remember she had always been the type to keep busy. Always on the go with one tasks already lined up for whenever she completed one. She had an aversion to sitting still when it felt too much like she was wasting time that she could be channelling into something more productive. But now she knew that her need to keep busy was a coping mechanism, that ache in her chest only bearable when her mind was occupied elsewhere or she had some company that warmed her heart and combated the pain. Work had filled in the gap well and she was grateful for every new case that came across her desk but even though she was working overtime and putting even more hours into it, there was still too much time in the day left unaccounted for. 

As tempting as it was to simply lose herself in any activity she could, she knew better than to neglect herself and instead chose to view mealtimes as a chance to catch up with family members. When it came to her father she couldn’t help but worry, knowing that the loss of his wife had hit him hard despite the brave front that he put on. So once she’d reached a suitable point on her most recent case, she’d gone to his home and called out after letting herself in. “Dad?” Light steps carried her further into the room, tired smile touching rosy lips as she spotted him. “Have you eaten? I thought we could get dinner together, my treat. Maybe from that little place down the street that you like.”

Pleasant conversation had been stalled by the room being turned to black and there’s some quip on his tongue to cut through the silence. A moment later he’s pulling out his lighter, only to notice and extra body in the room. The intruder was dealt with swiftly when for all he preferred words as his weapon of choice, he’d earned the right to choose them over violence. A dull thud echoes as the body hits the floor and he crouches for a moment, lighter flickering across the features of the would be assailant. There’s an unsettling realisation that he recognises the man but has no knowledge of the plan, it dawning on him that someone in the Lannister faction is acting without his knowledge. He would deal with that later and his suspicions later.

He rose smoothly to his feet, seemingly unaffected by it all. Blazer was pulled straight once more, shoulders setting themselves back in a show of confidence before he spoke. Voice cut clearly through the quiet, authoritative tone noticeable within them. He always had known how to take charge. “We should barricade the door.” With a click the lighter flickers into life once more and he uses it to motion to a table. “This ought to do it.”

[before Loras arrived as a squire in Storm’s End, Renly promised himself that he is going to like the kid and his family, just so he could spite his brothers, whom at that point they had both fucked off to their respectable positions. His plan was to treat Loras as he would treat any other squire, which was never like an actual lord&squire interaction to be honest, but rather an equals kind of thing, and he would speak of Loras and the Tyrells highly to his brothers, even though part of him held some resentment for Mace because of, well, the starvation. He still dislikes that man, but he loves everyone else, and now he speaks highly of them because he means it.]

This episode we read Tyrion 3 as he attends his first small council meeting since the Battle of Blackwater. This time we are joined by Micah Clark from Planetos Podcast.

We learn that Robett Glover has lost a battle outside of Duskendale, leading to the death of Ser Mayo, Helman Tallhart.

Lands are divided up and issued out to the Lords of the realm, and Mace Tyrell is happy to claim all he can.

The council is dismissed and Tywin informs Cersei that she will be married to Willas Tyrell and not Sansa.

Tyrion deduces that Tywin intends to marry him to Sansa Stark, ensuring they have a claim to Winterfell.
