IF P.A.N.D.O.R.A. NEVER HAPPENED:
AGENT NIGHTSHADE
There would've been no further mutation. No experimentation. No dismemberment. Nightshade; as a construct, would not exist. The identity of whomever took hold would've been just a speck of the man. In fact, he would've been every bit of the instinctual and carnal thoughts that are often attributed to the thoughts that our subconscious and unconscious mind tends to subdue. Dr. Naji Rosemonte's presence in the world would've been noted as the first of his peers to synthesize a compound capable of minor miracles; if it is to be qualitatively analyzed. A substrate capable of isolating illnesses for further treatment. A way to enrich our global health in crop maturation and harvesting. This means: little to no further genetic modification to remove parasites or evasive microorganisms. He'd continue to push for a greener option. Refusing his own personal desires for that of the whole. And yet, he still takes direction from his grandmother as she's all he has left.
AGENT GOBLIN
If you believe his emotional detachment and stunting is bad now, in this version of him, his father only pushed him to work harder and longer. Investing his time and energy in the things that make OSORNIO INDUSTRIES: UNITED more of a household name. His father rakes in all the glory while he reaps the benefits of labor. Some would agree that this is a fair compromise while others would see the lack of reward. Friendships don't last. Romance is truly dead. He truly becomes a human masking a robot only seeking production, performance, and perfection. Huber Osornio desires something in addition to all his success but it only makes him work harder to fill the void.
AGENT PSYNAUT
"I believe even the unfortunate deserve a place at the table with all the same benefits that I've been afforded my entire life." There is no such thing as telekinesis or the rage of Czernobog. He didn't almost lose someone close to him- twice. He doesn't know about performance fatigue nor evacuation protocols. In this light, he continued his family's philanthropic duties domestically and internationally and with sister taking leadership upon the loss of their father, Ji-Ho Geum launches the division that specifies in attaining and dispersing assistance and resources across the globe with a focus on underdeveloped infrastructures to help elevate their communities. He does the legwork. He is the boots on the ground. If it requires extra hands, he's a man that puts action to his promises.
BILIQUIS

AGENT ROUSE
Those messy headlines never disappear. A twenty-eight year preservation never happens. Though the features still remain, he has lived his life in-and-out of the eye of resurging news articles and gossip columns. Those ancient forum posts still tick with regular updates and there are up-scaled and enhanced digital footprint cataloging the man's youth as he tried to simply make it with little. Rumors speculate that he's all sorts of things but he's moved from Miami to Las Vegas. Some of his best work can be seen from one of the stages and vary between audience viewership. Some features are mature. Some are for all audiences. If there was a pop-diva he favors, it's background dancing for [insert famous female artist] or teaching one of the youngsters the proper pole dancing techniques. He lives his life fast. Dangerous. And oh? Leonardo Franklin-Agusti married his ex-husband's distant cousin who helped him take down their family from the inside.
AGENT SOLARIS
"At ease, Soldier. I made a home, for myself. I've done well, if I say so, myself." Ever think about what it would be like to have the years stripped back from your life? To have grind so hard and now you get to breathe? As if the weight is lifted from your shoulders (or eyes)? Colonel Thomas Tyler retired from the Air Force with everything he intended. Some tried to encourage him to serve out four more years but he chose to call it. With no family to return to, he'd decided to relocate to beachfront in Virginia where he tends to his own garden and has picked up a side hustle, constructing and painting wooden figures and picture frames. Most is to keep his mind busy but truthfully? It's to release all those years of enduring some of the most stressful campaign's in his life. Perhaps he'd find love at this stage? Perhaps he'll keep his private life quiet? Who knows? It just may be that little boardwalk stroll with a lemonade that introduces him to his forever partner.

im thinking about a fusion of Solaris and Mal
They would probably draw their colors from Solaris and Core's color palettes, much lighter visibly (as in their colors)
They would also be really fucking tall (maybe between 11-15 ft?)
Maybe have two or three eyes (because Mal is missing one)
They'd also be covered in a lot of flowers (a mix of yellow forget-me-nots (which are a real thing!) and maybe dandelions and daffodils too), mainly along their spine and around their neck

1942 10 24 Daylight over Milan - Graham Turner
After attacks on Genoa on 22/23 and 23/24 October, which were designed to coincide with Montgomery's El Alamein offensive, Harris at the morning conference at HQ Bomber Command on 24 October decided to switch targets to Milan. Unlike Genoa, with its ports and shipyards, or Turin, with its war industries, the attack on Milan - the political and commercial centre of northern Italy - was for morale purposes and the effect on the civilian population. As a result, this attack was unusual in not being one single night raid. Instead, Harris chose to split the attack: 5 Group's Lancasters by day - perhaps to highlight British air superiority over a major Italian city - and the other Groups' 'heavies' at night. This battle scene features the daylight attack, which saw 88 Lancasters take off to bomb the aiming point of 'Milan "A"' - the city centre - though this caused controversy afterwards when it became public that the Duomo had been the aiming point . Seventy-four aircraft dropped 51.8 tons of HE bombs and 81.5 tons of incendiaries on Milan. As cloud over Milan was down to 3,000 ft, and since the bombs dropped included a good number of 4,000-pounders, release from below this height was in some cases avoided so a number of Lancasters stayed above the cloud, bombing at between 8,000 ft and 12,000 ft. A number went below the cloud and down to 2,000ft to identify the aiming point, however, and this is depicted in this battle scene. One Lancaster even got down to 50ft, where, the Italian authorities claimed, it strafed buildings and machine-gunned people in the streets; indeed, the Lancaster of Wg Cdr J. M. Southwell, 9 Squadron's CO, admitted later to having 'used 7,000 rounds machine-gunning two trains on the Milan-Novara railway and strafing what he said was Novara'. Nonetheless, photographic evidence - taken both during the bombing and later on by a reconnaissance aircraft - revealed that a large amount of damage was inflicted - mainly by fire - on industrial premises all over Milan, and the railway lines to Bologna,Genoa and Venice and along the St Gothard route had been severed. The main railway station had been particularly damaged, as were areas around the Porto Novara Station and the Parco Solari and many industrial premises, such asthe GEC Engineering Works, Municipal Tramways and the Caproni aircraft factory. Mussolini publically admitted damage to nearly 2,500 houses, with 450 completely demolished. For the British, the losses were three Lancasters(3.4 per cent), one having crashed over Milan and two others shot down by Luftwaffe night-fighters around Caen in France. These were light considering this had been a risky long-distance run in daylight across Axis-dominated Europe.Damage to aircraft was another matter, however. Several bombers had been damaged either by flak over Milan or enroute, by colliding with a seagull over the target, by a Macchi C.202 Folgore, by hitting high-tension electric cables,or by crash-landing at an emergency airfield in Sussex. A total of ten aircraft (11.45 per cent) were damaged, half ofthem seriously. While the day raiders were landing at their bases in England, another force of 71 aircraft, comprising the Stirlings,Halifaxes and Wellingtons from the PFF, 1, 3 and 4 Groups, was already over Milan. Although thick cloud covered the target, they could see the glow of the fires started by the Lancasters five hours earlier, and proceeded to bomb those. Further destruction to Milan, although not extensive, was caused

Some updates on the Chimerism AU:
Sonic, Sonia, and Manic unfused at The End of Sonic Frontiers (Instead of Cyber Super Sonic, they go Hyper Sonic/Sonia/Manic), and were naturally in rough shape after being split into thirds. Metal fused with Sonic to save his life because he was in the worst shape and, after being naturally fused for a while, tried to force their fusion to be permanent. Aleena was able to get through to Metal about the complicated feelings (Aka Love) that led him to try and keep Sonic forever, and after that the triplets did some soul searching and traveling to figure out who they were with their newfound individuality. Metal did some soul searching, too, because being fused with Sonic separated him from Eggman and now he was free to be his own person... but he has to figure out who "his own person" even is because his plan A of "The real Sonic" didn't work out.
Mephiles tricks Blaze into sealing him inside her, just like she did with Iblis. They fuse to create Solaris, but Blaze becomes a new component. Silver becomes their pet boyfriend. Blaze is mostly in control, but Mephiles acts as a devil on her shoulder trying to convince her to abuse her newfound power as a goddess. Silver is like her angel on the shoulder, but he's pretty bad at that job. (He would 100% abuse the power of Solaris if he had it)
Solaris!Blaze is a shape-shifter that can take on numerous forms but defaults to a gryphon-like taur body that's 10 ft tall (head to front foot) and 10 ft long. (Head to back leg) The smallest form she has is a humanoid version of her default form (still 10 ft tall), but if she maintains it for too long, it becomes painful. Her "true" form is basically just Solaris phase 2 from Sonic 06 but more purple. And yes, Silver finds that form extremely attractive.
Tangle vored Mimic.

@uncanines asked 🗣🗣🗣
🕶️- "See? I'm not just a pretty face." Challenge accepted. Thomas took a pull from his pressure-release water bottle. He looked at the young man before the other hand wiped his brow. The luster from the polished lens gave a gleam from what would've been the placement of pupils. It was the last of their short marksman training and the other wanted to test the limits of his prowess of his spatial awareness and trajectory mastery. With the limitations of power surges and substantial blackouts, they relied on old school - physical targets. Each tied to a swinging mechanism. Their pendulum arcs varied in velocities. He could read the underestimation like it was embolden text written across his forehead. His small smile was soothed with the slow lap of his tongue as he turned around to face the back of the room. The crimson glow consumed the shadows as he took one breathe in. That was when the blink of an eye would've made most miss the incredible jumpstart. Like a ranger, Thomas pressed the small pressure sensor of his visor and four quick bursts pulsed from his eyes. The optic blasts had a familiar "zwhip" and "zirk". Without even aiming directly at the targets, the barrage of concussive blasts whipped through the air. They'd scatter on approach, making one bounce and curve around the other male. They'd continue to expel all kinetic energy until the concentrations fizzled out upon meeting their target. He smiled as he used one final blast to whip his body in a nigh frictionless pivot. Upon angling the last blast at the wall, the fifth and final blast was lassoed, giving his spin a weak trail. He grinned. "What's my prize?"

a compilation of overcomplicated hypothetical future IEYTD installments that i would kill to be canon
ft various spoilers for all three of the current non-hypothetical installments also ft really bad names for them in order to keep the list organized
I Expect You To Die; Once Burned, Twice Shy
During one of their usual heists against one of Zoraxis' latest schemes, Phoenix finds themself caught in what turns out to have been an orchestrated trap from the start. Not only is Zoraxis unscathed from the agent's attempt to stop their plans, but in the process, they find a way to pin their escape/the damage left behind on Phoenix in a catastrophic way, severing the Agency's trust in them and their handler.
Time after time again, Zoraxis have underestimated the Agent, but by separating the biggest thorn in their side from their main source of intelligence, power, and even locomotion, what can they possibly do to stop them from tearing down the rest of the Agency? And how is the Agency supposed to stop them without their star pupil turned 'traitor'?
Left with nothing aside from the guidance of their handler and their own sharp intuition- devoid of the Agency's tools or assistance- Phoenix needs to prove to Zoraxis and everyone else that they're more than just the tools the Agency lets them wield.
The 'gimmick' of this plot is kind of meant to be a parallel to what happened with Zoraxis at the end of the sequel. That being losing their trust with the rest of the world, and being forced to work in the shadows as opposed to hiding in plain sight. Because of this, a variation of this plot could be Zoraxis framing the entire Agency, instead of just Phoenix, forcing all of them to work and exist under the radar until they can clear their names. I just think the Phoenix specific plot is more entertaining, and made more personal by focusing on the protagonist.
I Expect You To Die; Pick Your Poison
The Fabricator probably has the most untapped potential and implied history with the Agency aside from Zor themself. While to me it feels like she's such an important character any plot that focuses on her would be a very late-game element, I can definitely see her serving as the 'main' antagonist of her own entry to the series.
The Agency- despite knowing the location of at least one of the Fabricator's workshops, are too intimidated by her lethality and talent to consider sending any more Agents to apprehend or face off against her. Behind Zor themself, they've gone on to list her in her dossier as the most lethal mind in Zoraxis' sprawling arsenal.
The Fabricator already has a bit of a vendetta against the agent, if not for the damage done to her workshop, then for the damage done to Zor's schemes, and by association, all of the tech she engineered for them.
There is also the point to consider that the Fabricator is in a very interesting place, for an antagonist position. Knowledgeable enough to know what happens to disappointing Zoraxis operatives- the cause of Juniper's death, almost Prism's, and who knows who else's- and yet… she seems more or less unbothered to remain by their side despite. The Agency wanting to get the Fabricator out of Zor's hands partnered with her seemingly deep running loyalty has very interesting implications for a betrayal arc of sorts.
I Expect You To Die; Reach for the Sky
Solaris is another character that has been brought up again and again in various ways, implying relevance- or at least, future relevance- to the series. While it would make perfect sense for her to accompany a Fabricator-focused installment, there's an equal probability for her to get something to herself.
Solaris- while perhaps not considered as dangerous as the Fabricator- is on par with her in terms of intelligence, and the Death Engine is still considered by the Agency to be one of the most powerful weapons to scourge humanity (as opposed to exclusively agents, as something like project KBOOM would have been).
While her loyalties to Zoraxis were obviously shaky even during her first appearance, Solaris is very self driven, and just because she may have broken ties with Zoraxis* doesn't mean she's completely out of the picture. As one of the Fabricator's tapes in Eaves Drop would suggest, Solaris still holds a grudge on the agent that destroyed her life's work. It isn't out of the question to consider that she would try to seek out her revenge, even on her own terms.
It's interesting to consider an arc that separates on competing with Zoraxis, rather than against them. Maybe- despite severing alliances with them- Solaris' tech is still of interest to Zor, which gets them involved the spat by proxy. Or maybe Zor- much like what they did when Anna intended to defect- is sending out a couple of operatives to take care of their newest loose end, with Phoenix finding themself caught in the crossfire.
*It is also possible that Solaris' 'defecting' from Zoraxis may have been a hoax or an effort to save face, with her being publicly tied to a newly exposed homicidal company. While somewhat unlikely, were this the case I don't think much about this hypothetical plot would change, save for Zoraxis being more of a main player (as they usually are) as opposed to a background threat.
I Expect You To Die; Playing With Fire
Vitti will almost certainly be given a mainstage role in a future installment, though with so little known about her, it's difficult to place how or where she'll show up. We know she used to be a field agent (maybe even Reginald's agent, when we consider that he used to hold the title of 'lead handler' at the same time she was 'lead agent'), and that she either had or gained ties to Zoraxis that may have lead to her erasure from Agency history. She also has the best case argument for being the Phantom, implying an interest in the Phoenix, as well as their survival.
To me, she's the perfect case for a betrayal/eluding-to-betrayal style arc without dipping into mind control. With the Agency being a dubiously-moral force as it stands, Vitti seems the perfect character to at least raise the potential that the Agency isn't really as good as they project themselves to be… and that the Phoenix isn't as safe with them as they'd like to think they are.
Maybe the two of them communicate off radar- Phoenix chasing after Zoraxis' tail while Vitti watches from the sidelines- breaching their coms to say her piece… Maybe the handler gives a piece of advice that Vitti contradicts, with her's being the safer option… Quietly worming the idea into the agent's head that even their own handler may not always have their best interest in mind… Whether or not there's any member of the Agency they can actually trust.
At the end of the day, Zor wants to tear apart every last facet of the Agency. But, they have a rival's fondness for the Phoenix… If they join Zoraxis, they'll be spared. They'll survive. If they stay with the Agency, they'll inevitably burn with the rest of them. She made her choice a long time ago… and she expects the agent to choose correctly.
I Expect You To Die; World in Your Hands
I don't care if it isn't likely I would do ANYTHING for a mind control arc (or something similar, at least), where we play as a Phoenix who- one way or another- has become a Zoraxis operative. It doesn't need to make sense while it happens because it would be fun as shit.
It isn't as if Phoenix still doesn't get to leave a trail of fiery destruction in their wake, it just isn't to the detriment of Zor this go around… Instead of the handler in your ear (🙁 no jared mason…) you can have one of the Zoraxis Operatives- either a new one, or a rotating cast of old ones (😊 yay mela lee). The souvenirs you bring back being exceedingly dangerous contraptions, explosives, prototype weaponry, and of course, many, many Zoraxis brand foodstuffs of varying degrees of quality. AND it would give Schell an excuse to bring back things like genuine gun combat from the first game.
And you get to be evil. Which literally who doesn't want to be evil?? Hello? We can get an epic evil cinematic intro and everything? An encounter with the handler where his voice shakes in genuine fear- for his life, for who his agent has become, for what Zor has done to them- HELLO??
#ieytd#ieytd3 spoilers#LONG POST... SORRY. except im not. my autism power...#should i tag like. the relevant guys??#i don't see why not#agent phoenix#the fabricator#commander solaris#the handler#dr zor#v. vitti#i think that's the tag. for her#i am coping with the solaris mention but also i fail to see why they would continue to make her relevant if she's really out of the picture#they showed her quitting zoraxis and then showed her agency dossier still tying her to zoraxis?? 🤨🤨 whats the deal here#anyways. i still think either her or fabby could be mainstay villains/get a game to themselves#and im very excited to see what schell does with vitti in the future. yay evil women

intro post 2024
sup lads, it's been like two years and I figured the pinned post probably needed updating
wait it has almost exactly been two years that's hilarious
Anyway. some things haven't changed. Name's still Ace, no matter what I write on the notes I send to my old library
I'm always up for tag games and random asks!! throw 'em my way as you like :3
pronouns are in flux! predominantly they/them, sometimes it, occasionally he. It varies on the bit, but you probably can't go wrong tbh
we're - we're going to say early 30s. it's not wrong and it's better than this being outdated in a little over three weeks when it all changes once again
no I did not plan this, no I can't do a basic formal outline, I have to ramble. what did you think i wrote for.
Other Places I Can Be Found include twitter & instagram under more or less the same username
~~~
Writing Focuses!
Everything is fantasy, everything is queer. Excerpts can be found under Writing Pieces
I'm largely jumping around between vaguely connected scenes and character work right now, but there's definitely a pattern!
mainly;
Shapeshifter WIP - when things start getting tense between neighbouring countries, Syn volunteers to slip across the border and pass information back in an attempt to avert the looming war. They may have underestimated how hard it was going to be to go back when no one recognises them and their own best friend hates them (ft. pining, friends-to-lovers of the star crossed variety, hand wavy world building, questionable morality, questionable spying techniques, A Certain Level of Dumbassery, some Fucked Up Shapeshifting)
So the Bran Rhi Sings - a Welsh inspired tale of Fair Folk and prophecies, found family and finding family, name games and hidden identities (ft. the Wild Hunt, one Feral Mage, a pair of raven siblings, and the Fair Folk urge to adopt every lost child in sight)
Dumb of Ass, Snake of Tits - a DnD story of a dragonborn monk who leaves their monastery to see the world, ends up with a Morally Dubious Courtesan for a travelling companion, gets cursed (twice), has a slight corruption arc, but somehow still comes out better than they started and with a boyfriend to boot (ft. travelling, fights, the unwillingness to wear a shirt in camp and making that everyone else's problem, other uses for bras when you don't have tits, revenge, What Sharp Teeth You Have, unquestioning kindness until it isn't kind, overthinking but eventually manage to communicate about it, slight pining, one vaguely horny dragon)
Soul of the Party - when a series of mysterious thefts sweep across town in the weeks before the annual summer festivities, Solaris is removed from the duelling tournament to avoid bringing attention to his cousin's family. Instead, he and his cousin and a band of Feral Mages investigate on their own and find a plot targetting one thief from Off-World (ft. four separate magic types, light crime, sword fights, mistaken (secret) identity, curiosity almost killing the cat)
and, you know, the usual. Fair Folk, Superheroes, Pirates, WereCreatures, Winged Folk, Storytellers, Dragons, Vampires, Curses, Even More DnD. All of the WIPS can be found on this page and some of them are in this definitely out of date post here
I'm always up for answering questions about any of them, even if some haven't been touched in literal years. They're still growing mould somewhere in there. Branching out in ways I didn't conceive of.
~~~
World Building
also a big ol' thing here, the main tag is world building but that isn't just my stuff in there, it's also a lot of reblogs
largely centered around the Mist Worlds which is where most of my WIPs are set. There is an Overview post, a Magic post, a bit on the Mist Itself, and also the Worlds (and a page where this is collated)
some bits are incredibly handwavy and made up on the fly, other bits I have been thinking Too Much about for Too Long
~~~
Characters
Oh boy we got 'em. Occasionally can be found via rambles on Sundays (Thursdays, under new management) under the tag So It Ends
Syn and Maverick are competing for blorbo of the year right now and if a wip or specific characters aren't mentioned, these are probably who I'll answer ask games for
Syn - a distractable and mischievous shapeshifter who volunteers to be a spy because "pretending to be someone else is what I do" no we're not going to unpack that right now. they/them, big fan of antlers. also goes by Vale or Lance
Maverick - a frost dragonborn who's a little bit naive to the ways of the world and prefers to assume the best of people if they can. Likes to help, doesn't question as much as they should. Not quite an "everything happens for a reason" mentality, but certainly thinks that they got what they deserved at points. they/them, has been known to act without thinking on a number of occasions
Also a special shout out to Llinos and Kaua, who are eternally the ace lesbian wifeguys of my heart <3
#talkin' malarky#writeblr intro#writeblr#intro post#long post#can't do images for shit lmao sorry about the wall of text#can't do brief either ahahaha#but I think that's maybe more clearly laid out. idk.
