AGENT NIGHTSHADE

There would've been no further mutation. No experimentation. No dismemberment. Nightshade; as a construct, would not exist. The identity of whomever took hold would've been just a speck of the man. In fact, he would've been every bit of the instinctual and carnal thoughts that are often attributed to the thoughts that our subconscious and unconscious mind tends to subdue. Dr. Naji Rosemonte's presence in the world would've been noted as the first of his peers to synthesize a compound capable of minor miracles; if it is to be qualitatively analyzed. A substrate capable of isolating illnesses for further treatment. A way to enrich our global health in crop maturation and harvesting. This means: little to no further genetic modification to remove parasites or evasive microorganisms. He'd continue to push for a greener option. Refusing his own personal desires for that of the whole. And yet, he still takes direction from his grandmother as she's all he has left.

If you believe his emotional detachment and stunting is bad now, in this version of him, his father only pushed him to work harder and longer. P.S idk what happened. I literally only had a brief flicker of the idea for biting to happen and I spiralled. I’m sorry.

They’re holding hands, Enid’s chattering away to the nightshades, her arms over Wednesdays shoulder, one of Wednesdays threaded through it, allowing the show of affection around Enid’s… their friends… except, Wednesday was bored. Enid had been happy enough to fill all conversational and comfortable silences with chatter. Wednesday turned her head, stroking her thumb along Enid’s in warning of her attention wavering on their talk, and the music so loud around them as the students danced and sang along.

Enid stiffened as Wednesdays lips brushed along the knuckle of her thumb, bracing herself for the bite she knew was coming when- Wednesday pressed a kiss to the thumb and curled closer to Enid as the blonde sighed in relief, figuring Wednesday was just tired after a long day, hiding her face in the blondes neck.

“Silence-“ Wednesday blindly pointed at Yoko before she could say anything about her becoming soft. She stuck her middle finger up and the fang chuckled before continuing on with their conversation.

Wednesday tightened Enid’s arm around her and nuzzled, brushing her nose along Enid’s collarbone. Enid shivered, nails pressing into Wednesdays waist, a warning of her own to her raven.

Wednesday pressed up on her toes, mouth opening and teeth latching into the exposed skin of her shoulder, clamping down.

Enid yelped and pulled away quickly, Wednesday unlatching at the first motion of the shove. “Bored now,” she drawled with a boredom filled tone.

“Alright, fuck,” Enid huffed and pointed to the stairs. “Yoko, we’ll talk later. I have to go this demon some food and a nap before hangry becomes rage demon.”

Yoko just nodded with a chuckle, shaking her head as she waved to Wednesday and watched them leave. “They’re so fucking gay,” she said as Bianca brought over a drink for the fang. “How long was your bet on them marrying after school?”

Bianca thought for a moment. “Engaged by graduation, married the second Wednesday turns eighteen was my bet. That would be romantic for the Addams clan, I’m sure. The only legal tie up would be them not being eighteen because Enid’s mum is a donk-“

Yoko nodded. “I see that, and because Enid would already be eighteen cause she’s older… damn, I should have gone in on that too. I guessed engaged by eighteen and married like a month later.”

“How many days till graduation?” Divina asked from the other side of Bianca, Yoko sighed.

“Six months.”

“So my bet still has time.”

Yoko raised an eyebrow.

The siren grinned. “Enid’s almost eighteen. No doubt there’ll be a ring on her finger by midnight on her birthday, and married by the midnight Wednesdays eighteen.”

The early morning hours after the dance, Enid’s body pleasantly bruised and sore, the goth straddling her lap as she pressed her hands to Enid’s chest to hold herself up, staring down at the black tungsten band around her left ring finger.

“You’re staring again,” Enid chuckled, swatting her hand against Wednesdays thigh. “You said you could go six rounds before sunup, you’re halfway through five.”

Wednesday shivered as Enid demanded she keep moving, her thighs shaking. “I think you may win this bet, my love. I don’t think I can move.”

Enid flipped them, pinning Wednesday to the bed. “I think you should just let me take care of you,” Enid whispered, kissing her fiancé sweetly before rolling her hips forwards.

Yoko’s jaw dropped at the sight of Wednesday’s hand with a ring on it. The nightshades sharing looks as Yoko spoke up. “Who had bets on them getting engaged after the Raven?”

Ajax held a hand up. Grinning. “First half, for me! Hey, ‘Nid? Wed her by graduation, yeah?”

Enid grinned. “A fall wedding, my Raven?”

“How miserable, I’ll contact mother to start planning… we are marrying on home soil, right?”

Enid pressed a kiss to Wednesdays forehead. “The vision is yours for creating. I’ll put input wherever you need it, but I know for a fact your family has the best party planners. I trust you to make how you know I’ll love it.”

Wednesday leaned against the blonde.

Ajax grinned as the group slapped money into his hand at the fact he’d win for sure with the couple loving his idea.

He then turned to the couple and held the money out, a nice stack of cash from a group of the richest kids on campus. “Here, put this into your planning as my wedding gift or whatever.”

Wednesday raised an eyebrow as Enid took the money and patted her ex on the shoulder. “Thanks, Ajax. That’s very cool of you, bud.”

Wednesday tucked the money into her zip-up pocket at Enid’s insistence and pressed a kiss to Enid’s lips before turning in her embrace and leaning back against the taller teen.

See. No one really cares about her, so there isn’t much about her out there — but! I am nice, so I’ll tell you what I know.

Comes to think of it, no one really knows much about her actually? Besides the fact that—like her teammate—she was a determined driver, there’s really not much about her out there, isn’t it?

Huh, I guess that’s what the Ferraris had in common; they were destined to get burned by their own ambition.

(Which—and you did not hear this from me—sounds a lot more like their own team.)

Poor girl’s only been around for a year (est. 2022) and she already looks like she’s a divorced mom of four who also had to be a medic in the middle of a war.

When she first arrived, the internet had deemed she could be the next Ayudisha (angelic, follows the rules, could probably do no harm) seeing as the world was already sick of one Nightshade, they didn’t need another.

She is a good driver—a great one, in fact. Her potential waves all around her like a visible aura when you see her.

That’s why her first steps into Formula One was into a Ferrari.

Miss girl was a great driver, she knew that, Ferrari knew that too, there was a reason they chose her.

Unfortunately, the public wasn’t big on it.

The internet was a whirlwind during that time — ‘ermm idk how to feel about this.’ (Excited? Amazed? Thrilled? Exhilarated? Enraptured? A list of things I have noticed in LaDs pt. 2.2 ft flowers (ft Zayne and Sylus)

Hellooo I’m here doing more flower analysis. Take all of this with a grain of salt since I’m only doing a brief study into each and I’m adding my own stuff.

Pt 1 here ft Xavier and Rafayel

Sylus

So Sylus’ flower is the Datura, also known as jimsonweeds, devils trumpet, hell’s bell’s, and moonflower. Already pretty fitting. I dunno where in lore it says this (probably in his myth or something) but it looks like this irl

Any purple or black variant makes it look different

Other than that I believe it.

Relating to the nightshade family, it is highly poisonous and has hallucinogenic properties. A quip from Wikipedia says

“Traditionally, their psychoactive administration has often been associated with witchcraft and sorcery or similar practices in many cultures, including the Western world,”

Hmmmmmmm you don’t say. This and MC being called a sorcerer in Sylus’ myth makes me further believe Infold looked at flowers then make Love and Deepspac lore.

Another from a plant care site,

“A genus of over a dozen annual and perennial species. We offer a species (Datura metel) from southwestern China with large, trumpet-like flowers that produce a sweet perfume, redolent of Honeysuckle, that's especially strong at night.”

Just thought that was interesting.

The datura is overall associated with poison, medicine, and the occult.

I don’t believe that the flowers in Sylus’ myth are Datura unless they are explicitly said to be (I don’t have his myth lol)

To me they look like petunias, along with his With Him flowers.

Petunias symbolize (from flowermeaning.com)

“The petunia flower symbolizes anger and resentment especially when they are presented by someone with whom you have recently had a heated disagreement. They can also symbolize your desire to spend time with someone because you find their company soothing and peaceful. According to some sources, petunias are also a symbol of not losing hope.”

A black petunia, specifically the sophistica blackberry petunia, means (from greg.app)

To me these make a bit more sense, just a bit.

Zaynes flower is obviously the white jasmine flower.

It’s mentioned everywhere that his flower is jasmine like it’s not even funny.

He makes one in your hand in Relax Time under Gift. (Like how Master of Fate did)

Pretty sure his birthday cake had jasmine flowers

His echo bottle from Touring in Love has one (it’s the only one that specifically identifies it as a certain flower in the description) (I mean Rafayels mentions the smell of gardenias but his flower is technically the flame lily so I won’t count it) (gardenias mean purity, innocence, and gentleness and are used in wedding arrangements btw) (anyways)

(Edit: nah I just looked it up and gardenia and jasmine are very similar, they both have a strong and similar smell, both have small white flowers and gardenias are also known as Cape Jasmine. And both are used in wedding arrangements. The only real different is the region they originated from and their stems. I dunno what to do with this information but it’s interesting nonetheless)

In Dawnbreakers anecdote he has a jasmine plant and visits a jasmine field because he sees Dr. Zayne with jasmine and attributes it to MC.

Ik Master of Fate has jasmine flowers though I don’t have his memories.

I’m pretty sure in the memory Forest’s Breeze, one of Master of Fate’s 4 stars, those are jasmine flowers.

The 4 star memory End of Depths also has them.

In his Secret Times, A Long Night’s description is literally “Let us see the sun set for one last time in the jasmine fields.”

Also I think it comes up in the main story too, can’t remember where tho.

I don’t think any other LI had a flower so aptly dedicated to them.

There’s more than 200 species of jasmine.

Jasmine symbolizes peace, affection, and sensuality.

Master of Fate, specifically with his combats abilities, refer to orchids (Orchid Metamorphosis) and bamboo (Bamboo Mirage), two plants regarded in Chinese culture. Master of Fate in general is Chinese culture wrapped up in one man. Talismans, jade, orchids, bamboo, and his clothes?? Yeah

Rowan used to be in a lot of sports such as soccer. Really competitive guy so he would always make sure the team would win a majority of matches or be suuuuuper bummed out over losing. However once going into high school he dropped that hobby as his interests grew elsewhere.

Very proud of myself for finishing this piece. It's been a number of years since I've done larger/more involved artwork and for the last couple of those, I struggled a lot with even holding pen and detail work due to my condition and being very bed-bound. Since my health has been improving after finding a compatible medication last year, I've been able to slowly get back into things I enjoy and dedicate more time/effort to them. Thank-you so much to those that gave me motivation and advice!
