I honest to goodness shrieked when Asebi showed her true colours. It is so clever that the staff has utilised the transition effect when they removed the twinkle in Asebi’s eyes and showed how toxic she really was. From being a prey to predator. Also, Fujinami’s realisation versus her bewitchment from earlier on. So clever. Asebi took advantage of Fujinami’s affection towards her. Sad to say that I’ve known such kind of women in real life.

I’m still a bit mad at Wakamiya for this btw

I know Fujinami was wrong, but she did it just because she craved family affection so much—something that her own biological brother couldn’t give to her.

If Wakamiya can get along with his half-brother despite different factions pulling them apart, then I see no reason for him to neglect his own sister of the same mother

Three entries to Merch Monday this week!

The first is a set of prints from @cactuskhee, who has a tumblr but isn't really active - its better to keep an eye on her Twitter to see when her store (komahina.com) opens! I only ordered the Junko/Miu print but Khee sent along extras for me which was SO sweet of her. (And the exclusive prom group art, which I was hoping SO BAD to get!!) The print with both girls is a little stiffer than others I've bought, which made it more susceptible to bending - if you look reeeeally closely you can see where my scissors brushed against the edge while I opened it and it got a little wrinkled. The products themselves are super high quality, just be careful opening them!

The Kaede/Maki stickers are from RegrettableMonster on Etsy! These came with a note to be careful peeling them, and it was definitely right; these are some really thin stickers! I didn't have any significant problems though, and they shipped SUPER fast, especially considering how inexpensive they were! This is another one that has several ship options - Saimatsu, Tojouma, Kiiouma, Training Trio, Gonta/Kokichi, Saimami, Oumota, and Saiouma are the others listed, but you can request unlisted ships, too! (EDIT: These stickers peeled up pretty hard over time! Since they're so cheap, it makes sense, but it's something to keep in mind.)

The third entry snuck in an hour before this post was queued, and it's my RedBubble stickers! RedBubble takes a pretty big chunk from earnings before the artists get to make anything, so I try to buy in bulk when possible, or at least more than one at a time. The first page of stickers is from @chibigaia-art, the second is from @trillmunch, and the third is from @jolee! These are pretty big stickers, so make sure you check the dimensions when ordering it. Really specific, but what's your favorite femslash Chiaki ship? I feel like she pairs well with pretty much everyone, it's really hard to pick a favorite for me because of it. DR3, despite my mixed feelings on it on a whole, did wonders for the Chiaki shipping community, since a big thing about that anime is the canon fact that "everyone in her class (and Hajime) adore Chiaki".

Maki!! Chiaki and Maki's UTDP/Summer Camp scenes are so incredibly endearing, and ever since I saw that it's been my favorite Chiaki ship by a longshot (and one of my favorite Maki ships). I generally enjoy shipping Chiaki with the I Am A Murder Tool Trio (Mukuro, Peko, and Maki), because I think it gels in fascinating ways with Chiaki as an AI who views herself as a springboard on which the other students can improve themselves, rather than a fully realized person. It's interesting to look at the contrast between being a tool For Helping Others vs being a tool For Doing Harm, and exploring the ways in which they coincide. Maki/Chiaki is the version of this that reads the most Human - playing video games, eating ice cream on the beach, having pointless arguments just because they can. Something about being two teenage girls with an overhanging inevitable tragedy really gets me about Harunami. It's one of my favorite parts of UTDP-verse, seeing all of these fun kids having their lives as teenagers, knowing that the looming overhang of horror is still somewhere, nebulously, on the horizon.

In terms of DR3!Chiaki: Chihiro. I know people tend to view them as family, which I understand for SDR2!Chiaki, because it's implied she views Chihiro as her father. But for DR3!Chiaki. I know the official explanation for Chiaki being the AI in SDR2 is that the whole class missed her, but there's something, to me, about Chihiro, who has found her hopeless first love with her upperclassmen shattered by the apocalypse which she must escape from, immortalizing the girl she loved as a figure built to love and save others. Something something to be loved is to leave an indelible legacy, the wife of a poet never dies, etc.

Paused my watch through to post this! Oh my god, I love the manga coloring style. And so many people represented! You can really tell this is the last cours and season.
