Thursday January 1st, 2017 - Melbourne, Let Them Eat Cake music festival I came on this trip telling myself nothing is out of reach. Whether its skydiving in Australia or getting a villa in Indonesia, it was my goal to do things properly and experience as much as possible, and to me, an all day outdoor music festival unlike anything we have in Canada, falls within my mandate. Hahaha. Oh, and it's a great way to start 2017! Am I right?! What makes this festival unique is how it brings left-wing art and music together. It brings creatives pushing boundaries in their space, a platform to share their gifts. Resident Advisor, a publication highly regarded around the world, named this festival a 'must go' because of these values. For the record, names I was most excited for were: EDiT, Cut Chemist, Shades, and Dusky. (all exceeded expectations, aside from Dusky which turned out to be one euphoric dream with very little climaxes or plateaus). Awesome acts that I discovered: Leon Vynehall and Oliver Huntemann. Leon mixed non-cliche Beach party house with techno stompers with elegance, while Oliver created an incredible flow between techno stompers and incredible progressive soundscapes for the perfect peak time day time set. The festival took place at Werribee Park just outside of Melbourne, which is an historical estate consisting on Werribee Mansion (which main stage was in front of), rose gardens, a lake, and other gardens. This was a huge park and the festival took up the 'other gardens', lake, and Mansion, as I mentioned. There were 6 stages in total, 2 of which were renegade stages (aka unofficial stages). Facilities included free drinking water, food carts, bars, lockers and coat check, and plenty of portapotties. Stages were all designed by local artists and built from scratch. (No 'pop-up' stages here). Sound for all the formal stages was Funktion1, including the massive main stage. (It was the first time I've seen a Funktion1 rig of that size and caliber... But even with that being said, nothing lets you feel the music more than PK rig). All were nicely spread out to create good flow of people traffic and sound barriers to avoided conflicting beats. The crowd was a blend of styles and personalities I've seen between my experiences in BC and the USA. Especially their were three types of people there: 1) the weird and silly that use the event as a pallet for self expression in every way, 2) trendy posh-like folk that appear to be self involved and believed to have a higher social ranking, and 3) those that are who they are with no special 'face' wearing casual day to day clothes and authentically getting lost in the moment. It was a terrific blend of personalities, with no douche bags, and lots of friendly folk. I had got there by train and shuttle, so I had to leave by train and shuttle. After about 10 hours in sun, then rain, then sun again, and finishing with moonlight, I returned to my hostel by about 1am and immediately passed out. Fun times were had.

KIA e-Soul 64 kWh 150 kW 100 km Verbrauch Test Reichweite Batterie Laden Ausstattung Preis Deutsch
