Since I had to re-play Chapter 13 once again to get the amour everybody uses for the Brutal Challenges, I decided to appreciate the Fortress/Temple design a bit more this time around and give myself some saves to get to certain sections without having to play all of it again. And now I somehow ended up with a small ramble...

I really like the design, both in historical audio book mode as well as self-destruct. It's definitely not as M. C. Escher as the original though. Ignoring the Troopers flying off sideways constantly of course. The Mural of the fight with the Calamity glowing red as a whole looks fantastic. (Had to brighten the unlit one in PS cause it's hard to see on PC compared to on TV)

Lots of clockwork references in the Cetran armour you can pick up. There is also the Valkyrian Bangle that would fit in well with Minerva.

Cogs and clock hands everywhere. Something shared with the Half Anniversary skins in Ever Crisis. And the wallpapers of them just so happen to place Seph, Zack, Glenn and Cloud in the sealed tower of the Cetra. There is also the stage design for Loveless in Gold Saucer of course. S/N: during my first play-through I didn't notice Squenix re-using Alphreid/Alfred's model continiously during the Mural Room compared to the obvious moment of the voice taking "Rosa's" form lol

Anyway, my first thought when I saw the stage design for G Edition was, "Well, that reminds me of Seph's trilogy accessory."

Not quite a match but that's how first associations go. Sephiroth's fashion statement doesn't have a clock face, it seems to have a wing engraved on it. But do you know when Seph started wearing something alongside his Solider Belt officially?

Technically, KH but that was more replacing the belt. Answer being, the original Dissidia, basing his look on the concept art by Amano.

And lo and behold at least in the English Sub, Gilgamesh mentions the Warriors of Light and how he is very much looking forward to beating the shit out of his nemesis aka Bartz. Which reminded me that another FF re-imagining not so long ago was a direct Prequel to not only FF1 but also Dissidia/012/NT/OO. Like that timeline of events didn't already become messy once the Protagonists and Villains started retaining their memories of previous encounters. Kind off.

Just a list of characters/things I’d like to see in NT and maps that could come with them.

Spiritus

XIII - Caius Ballad Vanguard Memory/Map: Etro’s Throne (Unseen Realm version turning into the dark LR version or visa versa) or Valhalla beach (could have some really cool second stage effect with time gates opening/closing and maybe Amber and Garnet Bahamuts flying in the air, or the huge green glass thing shattering.) (I will never not be salty that Snow got in the (first?) antag spot when Caius is responsible for like...everything. Snow was just depressed and needed a hug and some support, like Noel.)

VII - Genesis Rhapsodos Vanguard Memory/Map: Junon SISTER Ray (Second stage could be the cannon itself suffering from mysterious slash damage, cutting it apart.) or Banora (second stage being after the bombs drop around the battlefield and turning into nighttime with the Mako glowing in the distance)

XV - Ardyn Izunia (seriously where is the gourmet trashcan? I hope that article wasn’t lying) Specialist? Assassin? Walking trashcan with a thousand hats? Memory/Map: Insomnia - Throne Room (Give Noctis a reason to use that voice line guys)

XV - Ravus Nox Fleuret (He’d make a good antag if Ardyn’s moveset is too copy/paste) Vanguard Memory/Map: Zegnautus Keep

XIII - Serah Farron Marksman or Specialist Memory/Map: New Bodhum (something similar to Besaid with the time of day changing to night with Cocoon lighting up on the horizon)

XIII - Noel Kriess Vanguard or Assassin Memory/Map: 700 AF aka Dying World

VII - Zack Fair Vanguard Memory/Map: Aerith’s Church (Second stage could be the Church aging from Crisis Core through to Meteorfall and ending with the flowerbed bursting into the water fountain from Advent Children)

VII - Aerith Gainsborough Marskman Memory/Map: Forgotten City

XV - Lunafreya Nox Fleuret Marksman Memory/Map: Altar of the Tidemother

IV - Rosa Joanna Farrell Marksman Memory/Map: It’s been so long since I played 4 I can’t remember, but maybe somewhere in Baron? All I know is a healing archer would be BOMB.

Other fun ones I don’t know enough about would be, of course, the rest of the Chocobros - Gladio would add to the Giant Swords Club that Garland, Cloud and Jecht have going, but he could also have a shield. Ignis would be another nice fast dagger wielder, maybe with some emphasis on magic? And Prompto would be a great gunner, along with LaGUNA *loud violent coughing*

I haven’t played a lot of the games, so I don’t know the various casts very well and who is popular enough to join the Dissidia ranks.

Oh and bring back L A G U N A and Prishe please. And Gilgamesh (if he’s not already in the works).

Non Character Wishes

MORE 13-2 MUSIC K THANKS. Etro’s Champion is such a lackluster track from that game???? Like....??????!??!? Come on? You have a dozen others that are amazing? Unseen Abyss? Followers of Chaos?! There’s some sick AF battle music in there guys! BEAUTIFUL HEROES! Sub point: Also more LR songs too please? YUSNAAN HAS SOME AMAZING THEMES GUYS. YOU COULD HAVE ADDED THAT IN WITH SNOW. And Crisis Core music would be GRAND.

Free outfits (Legatus of the XIIth Zenos is an amazing example of this. The helmet even filters his fricking voice, go and grab it now if you haven’t already). Even if you just add them to the Gil shop. Like...recolours are bland. Bring back the ones from previous titles and don’t make them cost an arm and a leg. I love KH Squall and Cloud but I’m not paying $30+ AUD for them. Where’s Golbez’s Duodecim one???? Where’s Kain’s Exile outfit? WHERE. IS. DANCER. BARTZ?! AND EMPERORS CRAZY COUTURE BATHROBE?! Terra’s pretty Narshean Princess outfit, and her black and white one?? AND NO SHIRTLESS SEPHIROTH THIS TIME?! C O W A R D S ! (Will say Kuja’s alternate is actually really pretty this time). 

Don’t make us pay for characters and looks we already had in the previous installments. That’s shitty. (Wishful thinking I know *sigh*)

Please make the Manikins more than just poorly looking recoloured models. Make them look like they’re actually made of crystal again (the super garbled voices this time around are great though, really makes them feel not right)

More on Spiritus and Materia would be really cool. Give us more on Washing Basket and Discount Ansem please! PLEASE! I’m pretty much asking the way Catelyn Stark says at the Red Wedding here, Square.

We need. MORE. STAGES. Can we have Ultimecia’s Castle, Dream’s End, and Crystal World from the last games back? M.S. Prima Vista and Orphan’s Cradle would be bomb also. AND SNOW’S PALACE FROM LR WOULD BE FRICKING AMAZING? Why wasn’t that added with his release!?

Can we just have some new stages for new people? Like I said, Snow’s Patron’s Palace would’ve been so cool, with the big ice monument and the party decorations strewn everywhere in the panic, like in the opening cinematic for LR. Zenos could’ve had the Royal Menagerie or the throne room.

There’s probably more but I’ve been sitting on this for ages. How about you? Anyone you’d like to see added?

Sooo, this is pretty delayed, but...

Best parts about Dissidia NT?

A) Everyone's got their memories in order so you don't have half the cast acting out of character

B) Tidus and Jecth are bonding instead of trying to murder each other

C) Zidane, Kuja, and Terra form a furry alliance and take on Sephiroth

D) Cloud isn't a raging emo, smiles, and actively goes and looks for a missing friend

E) Noctis freaks for point five seconds before going back to his chill attitude of meh go with it

F) Bartz is no longer a ditz

G) Ultimecia gets roasted

Basicallllly, the good part is the characterization

Bad part?

Literally everything else tbh

Lucca Comics & Games 2017: Le prime anticipazioni

I videogiochi saranno grandi protagonisti in questa nuova edizione del Lucca Comics & Games con tante aree monografiche.

Era già la capitale italiana del fumetto e del gioco da tavolo, per la qualità e la quantità di proposte di livello internazionale. Lucca Comics & Games si avvia ora a diventare capitale anche nel videogioco e negli Esports, settore che vivrà a Lucca quest’anno la sua presenza più ricca, massiccia e spettacolare di sempre. E tutto questo succederà in un contesto unico e irripetibile, un centro perfettamente conservato, con una struttura da antica città romana, con chiese, piazze e palazzi risalenti al Medioevo, con le Mura rinascimentali. Da piazza Santa Maria, la porta nord della città, animata da Activision e Blizzard, fino al baluardo San Regolo, nelle Mura sud, con la piramide e le attività di Ubisoft, passando dalla deliziosa piazza Bernardini dove c’è Nintendo, piazzale Verdi con lo sbarco di Wargaming, senza dimenticare la zona dell’Area Cavallerizza-San Donato. I grandi publisher del videogioco dunque accrescono il fascino di una città e di una manifestazione che, nel 2016, ha portato in cinque giorni oltre 447.000 visitatori, tra cui 271.000 presenze da ticketing. E anche quest’anno l’Auditorium San Romano ospiterà tornei internazionali di Esports, i giochi elettronici competitivi, organizzati da ESL Italia.

ACTIVISION

Activision avrà quest’anno una presenza di grande impatto al Festival lucchese, con due grandi padiglioni dedicati, situati in piazza Santa Maria, per un totale di oltre 100 postazioni di gioco, e un maxi schermo sul quale saranno trasmessi showmatch e altri contenuti esclusivi. Protagonisti assoluti saranno i due titoli più amati di Activision, Call of Duty: WWII e Destiny 2. Per il lancio dell’attesissimo CoD: WWII, in uscita proprio durante i giorni di Lucca Comics & Games, sarà allestita l’esatta ricostruzione di un quartier generale militare americano della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, con autentici mezzi militari degli anni ’40. Nell’area dedicata a Destiny 2, lanciato da pochissimo ma già gioco da record, sarà possibile provare varie modalità di gioco e incontrare i volti più noti della community, che si alterneranno in un programma ricco di appuntamenti.

BANDAI NAMCO

Anche quest’anno Bandai Namco Entertainment e Bandai tornano a Lucca Comics & Games per portare un tocco di Giappone a uno dei festival più importanti del mondo. Imponente la presenza dei due brand che allestiranno due tendoni a Japan Town. In uno dei due Bandai metterà a disposizione dei fan un intero padiglione dedicato al mondo di Dragon Ball: nuove linee e anteprime verranno presentate all’interno di questo spazio e gli appassionati potranno anche provare l’attesissimo nuovo videogioco Dragon Ball FighterZ. Nel secondo padiglione (tendone maggiore), ci sarà anche lo store ufficiale di Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, insieme con le anteprime di diversi titoli, come Ni No Kuni II: Il Destino di un Regno, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, Code Vein, oltre all’appena uscito Gundam Versus, mentre il gruppo Bandai porterà le linee di punta Banpresto per le action figures e Sailor Moon per la gadgettistica. Non finisce qui, negli spazi dell’area Cavallerizza ci sarà un’area dedicata al mondo videoludico di Dragon Ball: tante postazioni per Dragon Ball FighterZ e Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 per Nintendo Switch attenderanno tutti gli appassionati delle avventure di Goku e amici! Nel tendone di Everyeye a San Donato, invece, spazio ai bolidi di Project CARS 2 con uno stand dedicato al nuovo lavoro di Slightly Mad Studios. Molte le postazioni di gioco, tra cui anche dei modernissimi cockpit per provare al meglio il titolo e sentire tutta l’adrenalina di una corsa in pista a 300km/h. Ultimo ma non meno importante, presso lo stand dedicato da Turner a Ben 10, sarà possibile provare il nuovo videogioco in arrivo il 9 novembre.

BIGBEN INTERACTIVE

Bigben Interactive è presente con un’area all’interno della Cavallerizza dove i visitatori possono acquistare prodotti gaming per PC, PS4 e Nintendo a condizioni eccezionali e provare in anteprima Outcast – Second Contact. Si tratta dell’atteso remake del titolo di culto Outcast, primo open world in 3D nella storia dei videogiochi e vero e proprio pioniere degli action-adventure a mondo aperto. Il gioco originale ha vinto oltre 100 premi, fra cui “Adventure game dell’anno”. Sulle Mura della città è posizionato un container con postazioni WRC 7, videogioco ufficiale del FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) 2017 arrivato alla 7° edizione. Gli aspiranti piloti possono vivere le entusiasmanti corse rally provando “Revolution Pro Controller 2” di Nacon™, l’innovativo controller gaming con licenza ufficiale Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe per essere utilizzato con PlayStation® 4, compatibile PC. Per l’intera durata della manifestazione tutti i punti di ristoro della città offrono speciali sottobicchieri in edizione limitata che, oltre a essere oggetti da collezione, permettono a tutti i visitatori che li portano allo stand Bigben di ricevere sia un poster di Michael Whelan autografato in regalo (fino ad esaurimento scorte) sia fantastici sconti sui prodotti Bigben, interagendo con il QR code riportato.

BLIZZARD

Blizzard Entertainment, uno dei maggiori sviluppatori ed editori di videogiochi al mondo, sarà a Lucca Comics & Games per tutti i 5 giorni di manifestazione con un padiglione in piazza Santa Maria. Ci saranno postazioni dedicate ai loro titoli più amati tra cui Overwatch e Heroes of the Storm ma non solo: per la prima volta in Italia sarà possibile acquistare gadget e merchandising ufficiale al Blizzard Gear Store. Sempre in piazza Santa Maria, i fan di Hearthstone potranno visitare e vivere in prima persona l’atmosfera della Taverna, ricreata all’interno della casermetta sulle Mura. Ad aspettarli, gli ambienti resi celebri dal gioco: il focolare, le panche, le botti, l’inconfondibile motivo musicale oltre ad un’area di gioco dove sfidarsi.

ESPORTS

Dopo l’incredibile successo della Esports Cathedral nel 2016, torna anche quest’anno l’esclusivo “evento nell’evento” organizzato da ESL Italia, che porterà a Lucca Comics & Games la 1ª edizione degli Italian Esports Open – Internazionali d’Italia 2017. Nell’insolita e straordinaria cornice dell’auditorium di San Romano, nel pieno centro della città, i videogiocatori si sfideranno su varie discipline fra cui StarCraft; Remastered e Overwatch in un’atmosfera d’altri tempi. Conferma molto importante quella dello sport elettronico competitivo a Lucca Comics & Games, viste le dimensioni del fenomeno che in Italia si stima coinvolga ben otto milioni di persone, fra coloro che fanno dei giochi elettronici competitivi la propria passione e chi, invece, li segue occasionalmente. Tantissime, inoltre, le iniziative collaterali ai tornei, che verranno annunciate nelle prossime settimane.

EVERYEYE.IT

Numerose le attività editoriali ed Esports in programma all’interno del padiglione di Everyeye.it, sempre rigorosamente in live streaming sui nostri canali Twitch & YouTube. Molti i titoli giocabili all’interno dell’area, con diverse esclusive previste per il 2018 e la possibilità di conoscere dal vivo la redazione. Samsung sarà il partner tecnico di riferimento con i propri monitor curvi ottimizzati per il pro-gaming e organizzerà ogni giorno tornei di Overwatch, PlayerUnknown’s Battleground e League of Legends. Presenti all’interno del padiglione anche Nintendo, che organizzerà tornei  esclusivi dedicati ai best seller di Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 e Arms. Ci sarà anche Bandai Namco con Project Cars 2, e Koch Media che consentirà di sfidarsi in anteprima a Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, e Attack on Titan 2. Proxy42 presenterà Father.io, l’atteso massive multiplayer first person shooter in realtà aumentata. Lato hardware HyperX presenterà la rinnovata gamma di periferiche all’avanguardia che esaltano le esperienze dei videogiocatori, come la tastiera Alloy Elite, mentre il retail partner ufficiale del padiglione sarà AK Informatica, leader nella vendita e produzione di prodotti PC legati al gaming.

TECH

Lenovo e Motorola creeranno quest’anno a Lucca Comics & Games, presso l’arena di TechPrincess realizzata in “pixel art” (Padiglione Cavallerizza, Stand 102) un’esperienza multimediale immersiva e ricca. Dalle postazioni gaming, ai tablet rivoluzionari, fino ai nuovi smartphone che si trasformano grazie ai Moto Mods, i visitatori avranno infatti l’occasione di provare una vasta gamma di dispositivi tra i più innovativi e iconici del leader mondiale in PC & tablet, e in fase di grande rilancio anche del suo prestigioso brand di telefonia, Motorola. Lenovo porta i suoi notebook gaming tra cui ad esempio lo Y910 con schermo da 17,3”, scheda grafica NVIDIA® GeForce® e prestazioni spinte al massimo, i tablet convertibili 2-in-1 Yoga Book, pluripremiati per il design esclusivo e la possibilità di scrivere e disegnare su carta o su pad con penna e digitalizzare automaticamente, e Yoga 720, il PC convertibile ancora più portatile e compatto. Motorola mette sotto i riflettori gli smartphone di nuova generazione, Moto Z2 Play, G5S, G5S Plus e gli ultimi annunciati Moto Z2 Force e Moto x4, dotati di funzionalità potenti. Con loro vanno gli ormai famosi Moto Mods – ossia ciò che rende Motorola unica – dispositivi che danno modo di provare esperienze d’uso prima impensabili: speaker in alta definizione, fotocamera Hasselblad, console portatile per videogiochi e molto altro. Denso il palinsesto di iniziative per tutte le età, sfide e tornei, make up artist, body painter, illustratori e fumettisti per ritratti personalizzati. E con l’Associazione Pepita Onlus sono previsti workshop sull’utilizzo consapevole della tecnologia contro il cyberbullismo.

NINTENDO

Nintendo sbarca a Lucca Comics & Games, e lo fa in grande stile, con un intero padiglione monografico dedicato nel cuore del centro storico, in piazza Bernardini. Nintendo sarà presente con una ricca line up di giochi per Nintendo Switch e Nintendo 3DS, le due console che stanno spopolando sul mercato, entrambe acquistabili a Lucca. Protagonista indiscusso sarà Super Mario Odyssey: dopo alcuni assaggi parziali, il videogame dedicato all’idraulico più amato di sempre sarà finalmente disponibile in versione integrale a Lucca Comics & Games 2017. Ma il mondo Nintendo sarà ancora più ampio, nei prossimi giorni ci saranno ulteriori informazioni. Denso il palinsesto di iniziative per tutte le età, sfide e tornei, make up artist, body painter, illustratori e fumettisti per ritratti personalizzati. UBISOFT

Tra i protagonisti dell’edizione 2017 ci sarà anche quest’anno Ubisoft che ritorna a Lucca in occasione del lancio del videogioco Assassin’s Creed Origins. Sul Baluardo San Regolo, nelle antiche e suggestive Mura rinascimentali, si erigerà una grandiosa piramide di vetro che farà rivivere l’atmosfera dell’Antico Egitto, ambientazione del nuovo episodio del videogame. L’installazione della piramide Glass.Emotion Hall, in vetro-acciaio (realizzata dall’azienda varesina Torsellini Vetro), richiama lo stile della piramide del Louvre di Parigi e con il suo volume equivale a circa un quarto del celebre museo francese. Il design e l’avanguardia con cui è stata costruita sono elementi che aggiungono valore alla fama internazionale del colosso dell’intrattenimento digitale Ubisoft. Al suo interno si terranno concerti di un’orchestra che eseguirà le colonne sonore della saga di “Assassin’s Creed”, nonché performance artistiche dal vivo. Nell’edificio prospiciente alle Mura, all’interno dell’Orto Botanico, una mostra ospiterà opere di game artist italiani, lavori di concept art realizzati dal team di Ubisoft Montreal e le opere dei vincitori del contest artistico ispirato ai temi del videogioco. Inoltre si svolgeranno attività di animazione dell’associazione AC Cosplay Italia e verranno allestiti postazioni di gioco e shop.

WARGAMING

Lucca Comics & Games è la prossima tappa del leggendario carro Wargaming MGT-20. L’unità mobile di gioco è stata allestita con la triologia di giochi Wargaming: il titolo di punta World of Tanks così come World of Warships e World of Warlplanes. Oltre al nuovo titolo pronto al lancio che sarà la vera novità del carro: Total War Arena. I giocatori potranno divertirsi sulle postazioni PC dei loro titoli Wargaming preferiti così come sulla versione Console di World of Tanks (PS4 e Xbox). Il nuovo community lead Italiano accompagnerà il carro e darà il benvenuto ai visitatori all’ingresso della città. A partire dal 1 novembre fino al termine della manifestazione, 5 novembre, il team di Wargaming organizzerà numerose attività per il pubblico che verrà premiato per il suo contributo e partecipazione.

WARNER BROS

Sarà La Terra Di Mezzo L’Ombra Della Guerra il titolo di punta presentato da Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment che, nel cuore del Area Cavallerizza, consentirà di giocare al secondo capitolo di uno dei titoli più apprezzati da pubblico e critica, e di vivere un’esperienza straordinaria. Oltre alla prova del gioco su di una batteria di console, ci si potrà immergere all’interno dell’ambientazione fantasy del titolo grazie alla ricostruzione di un ambiente simile a quello visto nel gioco, tra orchi e scenari a tema.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT launches January 30 in Europe

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will launch for PlayStation 4 in Europe on January 30, Square Enix announced.

The fighting game was confirmed earlier today for release in Japan on January 11 and in North America on January 30, the same day as Europe.
