Hello! I love your art so much! Do you have any tips for coming up with pose? I'm struggling with that.

Hey, and thank you!

I do struggle with that too sometimes, but unfortunately I don't really have a magic trick to solve it. Sorry, I honestly wish I did haha

So this will be boring and obvious but the only advice I can give you is to find good references, really. There's no reason why you should try to come up with poses only from memory or your imagination when there are lots of pictures available that you can use for inspiration and a visual aid! And if you're already doing that ... maybe brush up on your anatomy skills and do some gesture drawings if that helps you?

Also, if you're using Clip Studio Paint you could use the 3D figures to try out different poses (and angles!) which can be super helpful. If you don't have CSP I think there are a bunch of free tools and apps online that let you do the same thing

#sorry if this isn't what you were hoping for #like most creative things that require inspiration to work you need to have some input #personally I really like screenshots from film and tv because the poses there seem more natural than idk stock images and photoshoots #the cons are that they can be very limited #like you only get a certain angle and usually only part of a person lol #so you have to fill in the gaps sometimes #but they're great for visualising poses anyway #replies #anon #art asks
