🌷. అలంకారము - నివేదనం : గాయత్రీ దేవి - కాషాయం లేదా నారింజ రంగు, కొబ్బరి అన్నం, పాయసాన్నం

🌷. మహిమ : ఒక చేత జపమాల, మరో చేత జలపాత్ర ధరించిన బ్రహ్మచారిణీ మాత సాధకునిలో సదాచారాన్ని ప్రవేశపెడుతుంది. ఈమె నామస్మరణతో కర్మబంధాలు చెదిరిపోయి మోక్షం సంప్రాప్తిస్తుంది. శివుణ్ణి పతిగా పొందేందుకు తపించిపోయిన రాజకన్య . ఈమెను ఆరాధిస్తే మనస్సుకు ఏకాగ్రత కలుగుతుంది.

దుర్గామాతయొక్క నవశక్తులలో రెండవది ‘బ్రహ్మచారిణి’ స్వరూపము. ఈ సందర్భంలో ‘బ్రహ్మ’ అనగా తపస్సు. ‘బ్రహ్మచారిణి’ అనగా తపమాచరించునది. ‘వేదస్తత్త్వం తపోబ్రహ్మ’ – ‘బ్రహ్మ’ యనగా వేదము, తత్త్వము, తపస్సు. బ్రహ్మచారిణీదేవి స్వరూపము పూర్తిగా జ్యోతిర్మయము, మిక్కిలి శుభంకరమూ, భవ్యము. ఈ దేవి కుడిచేతిలో జపమాలను, ఎడమ చేతిలో కమండలాన్నీ ధరించి ఉంటుంది.

🌷. చరిత్ర : హిమవంతుని కూతురైన పార్వతియే ఈ బ్రహ్మచారిణీ దేవి. ఈమె పరమేశ్వరుణ్ణి పతిగా పొందటానికి నారదుడి ఉపదేశాన్ని అనుసరించి ఘోరతపము ఆచరిస్తుంది. ఈ కఠిన తపశ్చర్య కారణానే ఈమెకు ‘తపశ్చారిణి’ అనగా ‘బ్రహ్మచారిణీ’ అనే పేరు స్థిరపడింది. తపశ్చర్యకాలములో ఈమె కేవలము ఫల, కంద మూలములను మాత్రమే ఆరగిస్తూ లెక్కలేనన్ని సంవత్సరాలు గడుపుతుంది. కేవలము పచ్చికాయగూరలనే తింటూ మరికొన్ని సంవత్సరాలూ, కఠినోపవాసములతో ఎలాంటి ఆచ్ఛాదనమూ లేకుండా ఎండలలో ఎండుతూ, వానలలో తడుస్తూ కొంత కాలంపాటూ తపస్సును ఆచరిస్తుంది. ఇలాంటి కఠినతరమైన తపస్సును ఆచరించిన తరువాత, మరింకెన్నో సంవత్సరాలపాటు నేలపై రాలిన ఎండుటాకులను మాత్రమే స్వీకరిస్తూ పరమేశ్వరుణ్ణి అహర్నిశలూ ఆరాధిస్తుంది. మెల్లిగా ఎండుటాకులనుకూడా తినటం మానివేసి ‘అపర్ణ’యై చాలాకాలంపాటు ఆహారమూ, నీళ్ళు కూడా ముట్టకుండా ఘోరమైన తపస్సును ఆచరిస్తుంది.

ఇలా చాలాకాలంపాటు కఠినమైన తపస్సును కొనసాగించటం కారణాన, బ్రహ్మచారిణిదేవి శరీరము పూర్తిగా కృశించి పోతుంది. ఈవిడ స్థితిని చూసి తల్లియైన మేనాదేవి ఎంతగానో దుఃఖిస్తుంది. ఈమెను ఈ కఠిన తపస్సు నుండి మరలించడానికి తల్లి ‘ఉ మా’ – ‘బిడ్డా! వలదు, వలదు’ అని పలికినందున, బ్రహ్మచారిణిదేవి పేరు ‘ఉమా’ అని ప్రసిద్ధి కెక్కింది.

బ్రహ్మచారిణీదేవి చేసిన ఘోరతపస్సు కారణాన, ముల్లోకాలలో హాహాకారాలు చెలరేగుతాయి. దేవతలూ, ఋషులూ, సిద్ధులూ, మునులూ మొదలైనవారందరూ ఈవిడ తపస్సు కనీవినీ యెరుగనటువంటి పుణ్యకార్యమని పలుకుతూ ఈవిడను కొనియాడతారు. చివరికి పితామహుడైన బ్రహ్మదేవుడు, అశరీరవాణి ద్వారా ఈమెను సంబోధిస్తూ ప్రసన్నమైన స్వరంలో ఇలా పలుకుతారు “దేవీ! ఇట్టి కఠోర తపస్సును ఇంతవరకునూ ఎవ్వర్రునూ ఆచరింపలేదు. ఇది నీకే సాధ్యమైనది. అలౌకికమైన నీ తపశ్చర్య సర్వత్ర శ్లాఘించబడుచున్నది. నీ మనోవాంఛ సంపూర్ణముగా నెరవేరును. చంద్రమౌళియైన పరమేశ్వరుడు అవశ్యముగా నీకు పతియగును. ఇక నీవు తపస్సును విరమించి ఇంటికి మరలుము. త్వరలోనే నీ తండ్రి నిన్ను ఇంటికి తీసికొనిపోవుటకై వచ్చును.“

దుర్గామాతయొక్క ఈ రెండవ స్వరూపము భక్తులకూ, సిద్ధులకూ అనంతఫలప్రదము. ఈమెను ఉపాసించటంవల్ల మానవులలో తపస్సూ, త్యాగమూ, వైరాగ్యమూ, సదాచారమూ, సంయమమూ వృద్ధి చెందుతాయి. జీవితంలో ఎలాంటి ఒడుదొడుకులు ఎదురైనా దేవి అనుగ్రహముతో వారి మనస్సులు కర్తవ్యమార్గం నుండి మరలవు. లోకమాత అయిన బ్రహ్మచారిణీదేవి కృపవలన ఉపాసకులకు సర్వత్ర సిద్ధీ, విజయాలూ ప్రాప్తిస్తాయి. దుర్గానవరాత్రి పూజలలో రెండవరోజున ఈమె స్వరూపము ఉపాసించబడుతుంది. ఈ రోజు సాధకుని మనస్సు స్వాధిష్ఠాన చక్రములో స్థిరమవుతుంది. ఈ చక్రంలో స్థిరమైన మనస్సుగల యోగి, ఈమె కృపకు పాత్రుడగుతాడు. అతనికి ఈమె యెడల భక్తి ప్రపత్తులు దృఢమవుతాయి. 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹

On the second day of Navaratri, Maa Brahmacharini - a manifestation of Maa Durga - is worshipped. The form of Goddess Brahmacharini is extremely radiant and majestic. Maa signifies love and loyalty, wisdom and knowledge. She holds a rosary in her hight hand and a Kamandal in her left hand. She wears Rudraksha. The word "Brahm" refers to Tapa (penance) - Her name means "one who performs Tapa (penance)".

She was born to Himalaya. Devrishi Narada influenced her thoughts and as a result, she practised tough penances as she was determined to obtain Lord Shiva as her divine consort. She spent hundred of years eating very little or nothing at all, but her penance was so pure and had so much strength, power that it caused great disturbance in all the three worlds. Her desire to obtain Lord Shiva as her divine consort was eventually fulfilled.

15. āste 'vamatyopanyastaṁ gṛha-pāla ivāharan āmayāvy apradīptāgnir alpāhāro 'lpa-ceṣṭitaḥ

MEANING : Thus he remains at home just like a pet dog and eats whatever is so negligently given to him. Afflicted with many illnesses, such as dyspepsia and loss of appetite, he eats only very small morsels of food, and he becomes an invalid, who cannot work any more.

PURPORT : Before meeting death one is sure to become a diseased invalid, and when he is neglected by his family members, his life becomes less than a dog's because he is put into so many miserable conditions. Vedic literatures enjoin, therefore, that before the arrival of such miserable conditions, one should leave home and die without the knowledge of his family members. If a man leaves home and dies without his family's knowing, that is considered to be a glorious death. But an attached family man wants his family members to carry him in a great procession even after his death, and although he will not be able to see how the procession goes, he still desires that his body be taken gorgeously in procession. Thus he is happy without even knowing where he has to go when he leaves his body for the next life.

🌻 3. Every Failure is a Kind of Death 🌻

Destruction of the physical body is not the only form of death. Every failure is a kind of death. Any kind of a fall—psychological, social or personal—is a kind of dying. We are dying every moment of our lives, and we are also reborn every moment of our lives. Creation, preservation and destruction are taking place every moment. These are not cosmological events that took place millions of years ago. They are an eternal, perpetual and unceasing process that continues even now, individually and cosmically.

The student of yoga is to be aware of all the subtle shades of difference in conducting oneself in life, to be cautious inwardly and outwardly, and to be wholly human, and then to aspire for the divine. At the present moment, this may be difficult to envisage and comprehend wholly. It is difficult to get teachers, but it is also difficult to get able disciples. Both of these are rare in this world, and the combination of these two rare ideals is surely the manifestation of God’s grace. We offer a prayer to the Almighty to know what our right and whole-souled objective in life is.

🌴. మాయ పైన విజయంతో, నిస్సందేహంగా ఒకరు శివుని యొక్క అత్యున్నత స్థితిలోకి ప్రవేశిస్తారు మరియు స్వీయ సహజమైన సత్య జ్ఞానాన్ని (సహజ విద్యను) పొందుతారు. 🌴

మోహ – భ్రాంతి; జయాత్‌– విజయం; అనంత – అనంతం; ఆభోగత్‌- విస్తరణ లేదా సంపూర్ణత; సహజ – స్వాభావికమైన; విద్యా – జ్ఞానం; జయః - పాండిత్యము.

తన ప్రాణాన్ని తన వెన్నుపాము గుండా నడిపించే ఆ సాధకుడు, మాయ పై తన విజయాన్ని స్థాపించుకో గలుగుతాడు. దీని ఫలితంగా, అతను అనంతం యొక్క సంపూర్ణతను గురించి తన స్వాభావిక జ్ఞానంలో అర్థం చేసుకోగలుగుతాడు. నిజమైన జ్ఞానం ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఆ ఆకాంక్షదారులో అంతర్లీనంగా ఉంటుంది (అందరి విషయంలో కూడా). ఈ జ్ఞానం పూర్తిగా భగవంతుని మహిమతో నిండి ఉంటుంది.

🌻 3-7. mohajayād anantābhogāt sahajavidyājayah - 1 🌻

🌴. With unquestionable conquest of māya, one enters the supreme state of Shiva and gains true knowledge (sahaja vidya) which is natural to the self. 🌴

Moha – illusion; jayād– victory; ananta – infinite; ābhogāt- expansion or fullness; sahaja – inherent; vidyā – knowledge; jayaḥ - mastery.

That aspirant, who routes his prāṇa through his spinal cord, is able to establish his victory over māyā (mohajayād). As a result of this, he is able to understand his inherent knowledge of the fullness of the Infinite. True knowledge is always inherent in that aspirant (as is the case with everyone). This knowledge is fully endowed with the full glory of Lord.
