It's knight-time of mediocre linocut monday !
Ok so it was time for another linocut and I wondered if I could maybe print on fabric with it. Quite the bold move, and indeed I couldn't, the specific ink I used works only for screen printing I assume, but anyway. So I'm left with this block, and while I'm on the "bad ideas"-train, well let me take this moment to experiment something else.
I'm fascinated with gel plates, got one recently but haven't done a lot on it, so hey would that be cool to use the linocut on the gel plate to remove the ink and then print the ghost print of the plate ? Turns out it was interesting (2nd picture), somewhat unclean and the plate was probably a bit dusty, almost looks like stone and you see all the background cuts of the lino, wow ok.
In the end I just printed the linocut in my sketchbook to see the actual design clearly and I'm happy with how it turned out (1st picture), for once I feel like I didn't go crazy on the drawing.
That was an interesting ride, gel plates are so unpredictable but i feel like they have a lot of secret potential for the ones who dare to go wild with it...
