This is a very silly thought, but if and/or when Phee and Tech end up space married, I have a very funny picture in my head of Hunter seriously overthinking how Phee’s related to all of them now. As in:
Hunter, standing in front of a family tree conspiracy board just crisscrossed with red thread: Okay, so I’m Omega’s dad, right?
Phee: More or less.
Hunter: But she’s also my little sister. But she’s also my older sister. And Crosshair, Tech, Wrecker, and Echo are my brothers. But Echo’s also Omega’s mom but also her dad but also her momdad, and Tech and Wrecker are also her dads, and I guess Crosshair is also her dad now, too, but they’re also all her uncles, but also her brothers—
Phee: Uh huh.
Hunter: So basically what I’m trying to work out is if that means you’re Omega’s sister in law or aunt or mom or just undefined older female relative or—
Phee: I…think you’re overthinking this.
Hunter: —or—
Phee: Family. Let’s just say we’re family.
Hunter. Yeah. I like that.
Phee: Also, when is the last time you slept?
Hunter, trying to ignore Echo and Tech setting something on fire For Science: I don’t know.
VS Wrecker, who I think would just be like:
Wrecker: First, I had no sisters. Then, I had one sister.
*picks up Omega and puts her on one of his shoulders*
Wrecker: Now, I have TWO sisters.
*picks up Phee and puts her on the other shoulder*
Wrecker: And together we’re invincible!
*hands both of them water guns*
*runs around with both of them on his shoulders for several hours while they terrorize everyone in a mile radius with said water guns*

There was a time when you had everything. A place to call home in the Inner Court, a beautiful palace with anything you could have ever dreamed of. Servants, admirers, riches; you had it all. But what was most dear to you was your lover– a man so divine, many thought he was directly blessed by the hand of God. It was too good to be true. A woman of lowly birth like you, paid as homage for the sins of her clan against the new reigning family of Japan, becoming a concubine of the Heavenly Emperor.
You remembered it all too well.
His brilliant mind that once strategized the downfall of the previous imperial family, calculating its next move in a game of Go against you. You can still remember the shock on his face upon his first defeat. The way he would keep you from leaving to fulfill your other duties until he was satisfied, eyebrows furrowing as he struggled to keep up with you. No matter how hard he tried, you remained victorious. It drove him mad.
You remembered the stolen kisses while you made your rounds in the Inner Palace with your ladies in waiting. It took you quite a while to learn to tune out their giggles every time the Emperor dips you down to taste your lips in broad daylight. The grin that he wore after was enough to leave your legs weak.
Above all, you'll always remember how safe you felt in his strong, reassuring embrace. You’ve seen him train, and it was no wonder the Gojo clan rose to power so quickly as a result of one man. The way he wields the katana is unlike any man on the face of the earth. Those arms were your sanctuary. You can still vividly recall the attempt on your life, orchestrated by a traditionalist incensed by the Gojo clan's swift ascent to power. The emperor, outraged by the assassination plot, personally saw to the man's execution.
However, the damage was done and it caused great strain in the Imperial Palace.
To appease the old geezers that were forced out of power, Emperor Gojo had taken in another concubine from one of the Big Three families of Japan— a beautiful Zenin girl. Her flowing, silky hair and saccharine voice enchanted everyone in the Inner Palace, captivating the Emperor, most of all. She was younger than you, with perkier breasts and soft skin that was enough to capture the attention of any man.
You don’t blame her for taking the Emperor’s attention away. Though you would be a liar if you said it did not hurt you. Deep down, you cannot deny the agony that sears your soul, realizing that the only semblance of love you've ever tasted remains unrequited. With a heavy heart, you resign yourself to the bitter truth of your existence, knowing all too well the cruel confines of your place in this world.
You were merely a pawn, and the Emperor did not want you anymore.
That was made clear months later when you received a scroll from the Emperor’s advisor, a man you were once well acquainted with, Geto Suguru.
“What is this?” You asked him quietly, your heart silently begging the Heavens it was not what you had suspected it to be. The black haired man in front of you does not respond, and you feel something pierce into your heart. Despite being a part of the Emperor’s court, it was rare that you received letters directly.
Your suspicions were confirmed when your shaky hands finally opened the scroll to read the familiar kanji written by your beloved.
“The Emperor decrees the termination of your role as concubine." Geto spares you the trouble of deciphering the characters neatly written in ink. “In his mercy, you are to be moved as a servant in the Outer Court. You are to serve the Imperial Physician.”
What you remember most was the silence. The Emperor’s silence after the stressful months you had to endure alone. The silence shared between you and Geto when you were forced out of the Imperial Court. All that was left was the sound of your heart breaking and the wood creaking underneath Geto’s feet as he walked away. Satoru never bothered to see you off.
Tumblr media
Seasons change and by the next spring, you’re busying your hands with collecting herbs for the Imperial Physician, a man by the name of Yaga Masamichi. He is a kind man, pitying you enough to fill your days with laborious tasks to prevent your mind from wandering to thoughts of the unfortunate turn your life has taken. He is even generous enough to supply you with a new wardrobe of clothing full of light fabrics, a luxury you thought you would lose in the Outer Palace. Though the initial humiliation has worn off with the passing of time, you are still constantly reminded of your fall from grace.
Looks by the mix of condolences and disgust are shared when you roam the walls of the Outer Palace. You hear whispers of how the Emperor is infatuated with his newer, shinier toy. It is enough for you to swallow the bile that makes its way up your throat.
“It is no wonder the Emperor tossed away a wildflower like her in exchange for a cherry blossom. He needed someone to rival his own greatness.” A particular comment stopped you in your tracks. Your grip tightens on the woven basket in your hand filled with medicinal herbs you had collected earlier that morning.
“Have some pity on her.” Another eunuch whispers. Your breath falters, but you continue your walk with your head held up. You’ve heard the rumors. The beautiful Zenin Himiko has charmed the Emperor enough that there are rumors of a royal marriage to come. It doesn’t help that the Emperor has remained monogamous to her since he had banished you from his court.
A comforting hand links itself with your arm, “Ignore them. I saw Yaga shooing away a crowd of suitors that were lined up for your hand.” Ieiri Shoko scoffs, secretly sending you a wink. She has been studying medicine under Yaga for nearly a decade, eagerly accepting you as a companion upon your arrival. You feel your cheeks heat up at her flattery. You know she’s just trying to make you feel better.
Although your beauty never faded, it seems as though you are no longer sought after in the marriage market. Not that it matters, considering the new life that you’re living. You’re now a personal servant to the Imperial Physician, leaving no time to worry about suitors and such. Your days are filled with good work— tending to Yaga’s cherished garden that he has sowed for decades rather than frivolous games and attending the Emperor. It may not be glorious compared to your former life, but it was the best a woman of your status could receive.
When you and Shoko return to Yaga’s estate, you’re surprised to see the somber look that has settled on his aging features. Shoko makes an offhand comment that he will age faster if he keeps scowling. She receives a scolding.
“Is something the matter?” You gently place down your basket full of herbs.
Yaga sighs, calloused hands rolling up a scroll with the Imperial Seal. “It appears the Emperor’s consort has fallen ill and His Majesty commands my presence in the Imperial Palace.”
The Royal Consort. The woman that dethroned you: Zenin Himiko.
“I understand.” You nod, maintaining your composure while two sets of eyes scrutinize you with keen observation. It was only natural the emperor wanted the best doctor in the country for his object of affection. “Shall I close up the shop while you journey into the Inner Palace?”
Yaga shakes his head, “That won’t be necessary. I will have Shoko act as my stand-in.” He remarks with a quick glance in her direction “You, on the other hand, will accompany me.”
Your eyes widen.
“You cannot be serious.”
“Typically, one of my apprentices would accompany me on such journeys. However, now that I have acquired a personal attendant,” He gestures towards you with a flick of his hand, “It shall no longer be necessary.” As he speaks, he runs his hand absentmindedly through his well trimmed beard, gaging your reaction.
"I—" Your words falter and fade away. "Yes, sir," you respond, inclining your head in deference, a stark reminder of your place. While you may have concealed it, you were seething with humiliation. Returning to the Imperial Palace after a year of exile to serve the woman who took your spot was mortifying beyond measure.
“Very well. Pack enough for one week’s time. I doubt the Emperor would have called me if this was a light ailment.” He says gruffly. “We leave at dawn.” His gaze shifted to the horizon outside.
Tumblr media
“Your Grace,” You purr at the feeling of his large hands scratching your head.
The smile that rests on his face is almost ravenous. “Yes, my love?”
“I think—“ A soft sigh escapes your lips when he presses on your weak points. “I should g-go.”
His ministrations stop almost immediately.
“Go?” His eyes peer down at you in his lap. It is now that you realize the weight of his piercing gaze. “Have I commanded you to leave yet?”
“No, but—”
“Then you have nowhere else to be.” He huffs, unintentionally puffing his cheeks out. You stifle the giggle that nearly escapes from your lips. He vaguely resembles a pufferfish– or so you think. Though you’ve never seen the round creature with your very own eyes, you’ve heard that the delicacy was something only members of the aristocratic class would feast on.
Your mouth waters at the thought.
“What are you thinking about that could possibly be so important? Keep your eyes on me,” A strong hand squishes your cheeks together and firmly guides your face back upon him.
You should be embarrassed; ashamed at the intimate position His Majesty has trapped you in. The way your head is tucked away in his lap as he peers down at you, nothing to shield you away from him. It was incredibly scandalous, considering that you were an unmarried woman! But it seemed like the Emperor had taken no mind towards it. You would even dare to say that he was enjoying it, with the way his lips quirk upward at the sight of you squirming.
“Your Grace,” You repeat, determined to free yourself from his hold. His eyebrows furrow.
“Satoru,” He reminds you. You purse your lips. The position you hold in his court is simply not high enough to grant you the privilege of calling him by his given name.
“Your Grace,” You try again, the title rolling off of your tongue naturally. A man like him did not deserve any title less than.
“You’re breaking my heart, sweetheart. Indulge a man, won’t you?” He pouts down at you. As stubborn as ever, you don’t relent.
“I would be overstepping my boundaries as your consort to call you as such. That privilege is reserved for your future bride.” You take advantage of his guard let down to sit up and escape his hold. If he could have caught you, he made no effort.
“I am a simple man.” He follows you to your vanity. A giggle escapes your mouth. He is anything but. “I want my love to call me by my name.”
You turn around to cup his cheek. He eagerly leans into your touch, sighing happily at the contact.
“I wonder how Lord Kento and Geto would react to you like this.” You tease, a smile unknowingly painting itself on your lips.
Satoru’s face falls, features morphing into an appalled expression. You watch him close the distance between you through the mirror.
“Kento?” His voice had a dangerous lilt in it. You blink, unsure what spurred on the sudden tension in the room. “Since when were you so comfortable around him? He cannot satisfy you like I can.” He reminds you of the man’s castrated state as an eunuch. You wince.
“I have not gotten comfortable,” You’re careful to pick your words. Gojo’s possessiveness was something that was not easily tamed. “He simply provides good conversation while you are away. The palace is far too big and lonely while you’re away dealing with clan matters.”
The only response you get is a quiet grumble. “You’re lucky that you’re pretty.” His large hand creeps its way into your hair again, undoing the hairstyle your ladies in waiting had spent a copious amount of time on earlier that morning. Gojo carefully plucks the extravagant silver hairpin from your hair, the dangling pearls clicking softly at the sudden movement.  His hands slowly make their way down to the kimono that you are wearing, hands ready to undo the obi.
Your hands softly hover his, “I fear that our roles have been reversed. Should it not be me who gets you unready, Your Grace?”
He chuckles and through the mirror you can see a smirk make his way to his lips, “I’d let you undress me any day. Just say the word, beloved.”
You roll your eyes, but allow him to continue. It was moments like these with the Emperor that led you on to believe that there was a semblance of love between the two of you.
How wrong you were.

PRESENT DAY
The sun has yet to meet the horizon when you arrive at the Inner Palace. The horse-drawn carriage that you and Yaga had taken is the only sound at the scene, clopping down the stone road and back to the Inner Court. You miss the serenity of the beautiful palace you once resided in, knowing that it will be bustling with life in just a few short hours.
In front of the large doors of the primary ceremonial hall where the Emperor spends most of his time, stands Lord Nanami, a counsellor to the Emperor himself. Time has only made his face sterner, but his neatly styled hair and blue and yellow dyed court attire remained the same. He waits patiently while you and Yaga make your way up the flight up stairs that lead up to the hall.
“I am glad to see you in good health, Yaga.” Nanami bows.
The man next to you promptly waves his politeness off, thanking him for his hospitality. You stand silently while the two men engage in conversation regally.
Lord Nanami sighs, “His Majesty has been plagued by stress lately. To say I am relieved by your presence would be an understatement.” His statement is a subtle reminder that you must harden your heart upon entering the palace walls. The meticulously built walls were no longer a sanctuary for you, rather, a painful testament that you were no longer wanted.
Yaga lets out a hearty laugh and it reveals a rare sight, Lord Nanami’s lips curving upwards by a slight. “I highly doubt the boy would be glad to see me. The appearance of the Imperial Physician is portentous.” He scratches his beard. You tilt your head in confusion at how he referred to the Emperor.
“I suppose, yet I am intrigued to find out how he will react upon seeing his object of affection flourishing anew despite the sting of frost.” Nanami audibly wonders. Even a fool could understand his eloquent comparison. The Emperor would be thrilled to see his consort in full bloom once again. You pray that the Heavens would grant you some mercy from witnessing such a scene.
“Youth,” Yaga shakes his head, chuckling to himself before regaining composure. “I mustn't keep the Emperor waiting. [Name], please gather the herbal ingredients to treat the young Consort as you seem fit. I shall confer with His Majesty and meet you in her chambers to declare a proper diagnosis.”
You bow, “Yes sir.”
While Yaga prepares to enter the doors where The Heavenly Emperor resides, your eyes couldn’t help but gaze longingly at the large bronze doors.
“You seem well,” Nanami addresses you for the first time in over a year. Your eyes trail from the Emperor’s door to the blonde man in front of you. “Allow me to guide you to our herbal stock.” Nanami offers you his arm as you start to make your way down the stairs.
You take it, lightly holding his arm.  “Thank you, Lord Nanami. Time away from the Inner Palace has been like a breath of fresh air,” You respond, ensuring your voice carries no malice. You hear the large palace doors from behind you open, the metal creaking loudly in the quiet dawn.
“I must ask you to call me Kento,” He leads you down the stone steps. “We are old friends, it is strange to hear anything but.”
You focus on your steps down the stairs, only responding once your feet meet the solid ground, “I fear that our social statuses have changed since then. It would be the cause of a scandal should anyone hear I am calling the Imperial Counselor by his given name. Your admirers would have my head on a stick.”
“Your imagination is amusing as always, [Name].” He gives you a closed eyes smile. You huff.
“I am only speaking the truth!” You insist. He chuckles.
“It is quite refreshing to see both you and Yaga again. I’m not sure how long it has been since I have been at the imperial physician.”
You gape at his confession. “You mustn't skip your annual visits to the physician, Kento. It is in the best interest of your health!” You lightly scold him, lifting your hand to flick his forehead. It was a force of habit. “Perhaps if I have time after treating the Consort, I shall do a check up on you.”
Nanami clears his throat at your comment, the twinkle in his eyes dissipating as if your direct touch had burned him.
“I would rather not lose my head.” He mumbles, eyes scanning the courtyard around the two of you. You knit your eyebrows, confused.
Tumblr media
Nanami leaves you to fulfill his duties once you arrive at the Royal Kitchens to retrieve all the necessary items to treat Consort Himiko. You are glad that he did not accompany you into the kitchens to prepare Consort Himiko’s herbal soup.
The memory of it still irks you.
“You’re late,” One of Consort Himiko’s ladies in waiting snaps just as you enter the kitchen. You look up to see a young girl, dressed in a light purple kimono. It must be Himiko’s signature, you note. It was strange to see someone outside of the Imperial family donning the color, but you suppose it was only a grand display of Himiko’s influence.
“You’re a lot more plain than I anticipated,” The other lady in waiting quirks an eyebrow, eyeing your appearance. You furrow your eyebrows, shocked by their rudeness.Their undying loyalty to their Lady was enough to fuel an unspoken hatred for you. Though you’re not sure that the two coincide, you don’t blame them.
The two are mixing a concoction that you don’t recognize to be used to treat the sick. The taller one adds some aromatics and herbs in and you see the other one unwrap a cloth to reveal a rare delicacy from the West. Cocoa, you believed they called it.
Then it hits you– the two are not making a medicinal soup for their Lady, rather they are making an aphrodisiac! The image that conjures in your head makes you blanch. Back in the Outer Palace, Shoko had shown you the effects of the stimulant (you shiver at the memory of her shoving a treat laced with it into your mouth). It was certainly a night to remember.
“How pathetic,” You mutter underneath your breath, quickly rushing to obtain the ingredients you needed without making conversation with the two girls.
Fortunately, they pay you no further attention for the time you’re in the kitchen.
“Please excuse me,” You bow upon entering the Emperor’s chambers. Despite the Consort’s Pavilion being similar in size to a small town, you remember spending most of your time in the Emperor’s chambers rather than your own. It was probably the same case with Consort Himiko. You slowly place the tray carrying broth and medicinal herbs to treat the Consort down on the circular wooden table in the middle of the room.
Out of curiosity, your eyes can’t help but soak in the Emperor’s room. Not much has changed since you’ve left. His Majesty’s preference for minimalist decorations have stayed the same, along with his natural musk that fills your nose. You feel your face heat up at your own thoughts. How could you think of such a thing when you are about to meet his new lover?
Your gaze moves to his bed, where Consort Himiko resides– only to find nothing.
“Huh?”
You observe his bed, silk sheets neatly made, seemingly untouched. The sounds of your sock clad feet patter on the wooden floor as you make your way to feel the bedsheets for any signs of warmth, but you are met with nothing.
“Don’t you know that entering the Emperor’s chambers can be punishable by death?” A deep voice from behind you causes you to jump in your spot.
Your guard is immediately raised, head whipping to the sound. In hindsight, you should have never agreed to accompany Yaga on his trip. It was a foolish idea all along, you think as all of the air in your lungs dissipates upon seeing your former lover.
Standing at the entrance of his own sleeping quarters is Gojo Satoru, his frame big enough to tower over the doorway. His arms are crossed over each other, electric blue eyes focused on nothing else but you. You press your thighs together tightly to avoid squirming anymore than you are.  He has loosened his dark blue kimono to expose some of his hardened chest, a sight any woman in the nation would die to catch a glimpse.  Even underneath all of the fabric, anyone can see his divinely sculpted physique.
“Your Grace,” You waste no time to dip your body deeply, praying that he will allow you to keep your head by sunset. “I apologize for the intrusion, I was under the pretense that Consort Himiko resided in your quarters–” Your voice loses itself in your throat when you see his shadow quickly encroaching.
“Himiko stays in her Pavilion,” He towers over you, eyes gazing down on you. “But one might suspect that you already knew that.”
Your eyes frantically meet his feet, desperate to salvage what was left of your dignity, “I assure you that I speak of the truth, Your Majesty.”
When he doesn’t respond, you slowly lift your head.
The flustered look on your face must have been amusing to him, as he makes his way closer to you, bending down to interrogate you further.
“Is that so?” He hums, enjoying every second of cornering you into his chambers. The back of your legs have met his bed, trapping you. You inhale sharply, trying to keep your breaths even, refusing to give him the satisfaction of knowing the effect he had on you.
He continues, “You’re awfully skittish for someone who was happily skipping around my territory in the arms of another man just earlier.” His predatory gaze seems to darken.
“Kento?” When his name leaves your lips, the man in front of you grits his teeth. You turn your head to the side, deliberately avoiding him. “With all due respect, Your Majesty, but I don’t see how Kento and I’s relationship is any of your concern,” He does not take your actions well, his gaze searing into you.
“It certainly is when the woman in question is you,” Gojo’s voice loses its feral lilt, distress flashing across his face. There’s a newfound desperation in it that chips away at your resolve. His hand raises to your face so slowly, as if he did not want to startle you.
“This is wrong. I– I saw a couple of servants earlier making aphrodisiacs, perhaps you could have unknowingly consumed them.” You tell him, frantic eyes meeting him. It is not unusual for couples to use aphrodisiacs, you know that after under Yaga. The Emperor must have mistaken the laced dessert for his usual.
He shakes his head, running a hand through his white hair.
“You are mistaken. This is solely your effect on me.” He promises. You could barely believe his words, stuck between feeling offended or shocked.
“How could you stand to be so cruel?” Your voice is barely above a whisper. There are no tears in your eyes this time.  “I am not a courtesan you can buy for the night,” You snap, pointing a harsh finger to his chest.
“What do you mean?” He sounds breathless.
“Whatever do I mean?” You scoff, a dry laugh escaping your mouth. “For a year, all I have gotten is pity from the world, because you decided I was no longer entertaining. You could have at least banished me away yourself. Instead, you sent Suguru who couldn’t even look me in the eye! Don’t you know how humiliating that is?” With every word that left your lips, more venom seemed to drip. Anger was prickling you all over, taking control of the rational part of you.
Gojo seemed to be taken aback by your outburst. It was far too late to take anything back now. If you lose your head by nightfall, so be it.
You dig a deeper grave for yourself when you take advantage of his moment of weakness to flee. He’s quick to react, attempting to grip your wrist.
“Wait, [Name], beloved–” He uses that all too familiar term of endearment, but it doesn't deter you.
You accidentally bump into the circular wooden table placed in the middle of the room. What an awful place to keep it, watching in horror as the Consort’s medicine shatters on the floor. To add salt to the wound, a vase you recognize to be specially gifted to the Emperor from a foreign nation tips off too before you can catch it. The sound of porcelain shattering fills the room.
“[Name]! Are you alright?” You hear Gojo ask from behind you, but you run over the broken shards before he can catch you.
Had you bothered to pay closer attention, you would have noticed articles of your clothing and a couple of your missing belongings littered all over the room– creating a faux impression that you never really left the palace.
Tumblr media
Days passed by after the incident, and luckily, your head was still attached to your body despite offending and nearly endangering the Emperor. Yaga’s disappointment when you had told him what happened was made evident when he sent you home early after hearing the events that transpired, insisting that he can handle the Consort on his own. Normally you would have argued, but you knew better than to inflict Yaga’s wrath.
“Now you’ve really done it,” Shoko whistles lowly, walking in from the front of Yaga’s shop.
You hide your face in your hands, “I made an absolute fool of myself, didn’t I?”
“A fool? No. A conspirator against the Emperor? Perhaps.” She dangles a scroll with a familiar seal on it. The Gojo Clan’s familiar emblem reflects off of the sunlight spilling into the room. Your heart drops.
“Oh, they’ll have my head.” You moan, hands instinctively lifting to shield your neck.
“Though I’m quite impressed that Yaga only sent you back here. He used to have worse punishments.” She shudders before impatiently unraveling the scroll. You watch her eyes gradually widen as they read the contents of the letter. The scroll falls from her hand.
You rush to it, desperate to read your fate.
To [Last Name] [First Name],
Greetings and prosperity unto you.
By the mandate of the heavens and the authority vested in Us, We hereby extend Our solemn words to you, [Last Name] [First Name], servant of the realm, in acknowledgement of your debt to the Empire.
In response to your unmeritorious deeds, The Emperor bestows upon you His imperial pardon from capital punishment. In consideration of your obligations and the harmony of the realm, it is hereby decreed that you shall serve as an indentured servant to the Imperial Household for a period commensurate with your debt. During this time, you shall labor faithfully and diligently under the supervision of Our Heavenly Emperor, performing duties essential to the welfare of the Empire.
By fulfilling your obligations with diligence and humility, you may yet earn favor and esteem in Our sight.
The Imperial Court
A loud gasp escapes your mouth.
You feel your legs weaken, your emotions running wild. Shoko’s eyes meet yours, mirroring your frantic gaze. In that moment, you are met with the same suffocating sense of hopelessness.

extra!
gojo was kicking his feet happily as he watched suguru draft out his letter to you. suguru thought it rather cruel, while the white haired male was too busy purring happily as he fantasized about having you back into his grasp.

"The Seven Teens in Wish don't have much to do in the movie other than being a reference". A criticism that I both agree and disagree with. Like any other Wish criticism, this is one of the few that gets rebuffed if you watch the movie again and payed attention. While i do agree with the issue of a movie having way too many characters, of all the teens, Dahlia, Simon and Gabo are the ones who have the most prominent roles and are tied to movie's themes.
Tumblr media
Let's start off with Gabo. While many others dislike him because he's a jerk, there's some merit as to why he's so pessimistic. While I don't like including info from supplementary material like tie-in books, they do have that extra detail that was lacking in the final movie. In A Recipe for Adventure (which will be used a lot in this post), the author speculates that Gabo is a disappointed optimist. Even though we don't have much to work with other from that piece of trivia, when can always think of something to tie him with the film's theme.
Gabo represents the disappointment in a system where few are given benefits over the majority. He always talks about Simon and Sabino's unfulfilling lives because they gave their wishes away and hoping they will be granted, suggesting that he has seen or what it's like to have an unhappy unfulfilling life. He assumes Asha applying for the role of Magnifico's apprentice so that she can have the benefits of having her and her family's wishes; "cheating" her way to get what she wants while the others are left waiting. Him being a "disappointment optimist" suggests that he had high hopes upon moving to Rosas but has seen how long the waited that his hopes are snuffed and has doubts about the system in general.
At the third act of the film, he decides to help Asha and Star free the wishes because Star reignites his hope for a positive future, one where people can live their lives happy and fulfilled.
Tumblr media
Dahlia has the most screen time and lines of the teens, so obviously she has more character than the rest of them.
She's noticeably uses a crutch to walk. While Disney could've easily made her story about wanting to walk without her crutch, they chose not to. In Recipe for Adventure, her wish is to become the best baker in the kingdom, to which she has already achieved. She works as a kitchen staff in the castle, home of Rosas' founder and king.
This shows that she doesn't need magic to become the best baker, all she has is the effort to work for her dreams despite having a disability. This ties with the film's moral as well as a positive lesson for people with disabilities to overcome the struggles and achieve their dreams.
Also in the book, she has a grandmother who passed away and was the one who taught her about her passion for baking. Her and Asha meeting as kids and becoming close friends ties back to my previous post about Asha, mainly about her suffering from loss and that she and Dahlia supported each other going through their darkest moment.
Tumblr media
Like Dahlia, Simon also has more character than the rest.
Simon was once an active person, loves going outdoors and horseback riding. I suggest the idea that since his wish is to become a knight for the kingdom, he had trained for the position.
After he gave away his wish once he became 18, all that passion was taken away as the once lively and active aspiring knight loses that drive and becomes a husk of what he once was.
There's a saying that Simon's sleepiness resulted from his wish taken away is reminiscent of depression, which I agree. Simon's joy and dream was to become a knight and help defend his people. When that joy was taken away and his dream unfulfilled, he feels he has no purpose.
Him ratting Asha out of his selfish desire to have his wish be finally granted may be stemmed from his desperation to get rid of the emptiness he has felt. Like how people with depression use "means" to feel that joy they craved which resulted in paying the price out of their own health; ie his mind being controlled by Magnifico and their friends and family's concerns; betraying his friends.
After Magnifico's defeat and Simon is out of his spell, he apologizes for betraying Asha, with his reasons that he "wanted to believe in Magnifico." This brings out a dark aspect of Magnifico's wish system, he takes away people's joy, making them feel desperate to beg to him that they'll do anything for him to feel that joy again.
Simon's story may be applicable to people who have achieve their dream job out of their selfish desire to achieve it, like leaving their friends and family behind in order to get it. But once said dreams have strings attached, like working for a corrupted system that only hired you until you're "replaceable", you take it all back and feel disappointed for trusting all your hopes and dreams to an unfair system.
While the rest of the teens don't have the same character put in like Dahlia, Simon and Gabo, I feel like giving them their own arcs would have cluttered an already cluttered movie.
Wish has problems, but those problems aren't fixable by adding in things like an alien love interest and an influencer couple. Wish's issues is that the creators didn't put in the extra push it needed, hence why it feels "not enough".

to add PAIN to concept Immortal/Reincarnator AU
when pieces find each other and merge for a new life (child) they slowly wither away and die because their purpose was fulfilled
it becomes a story of a ‘curse’ in Jin-Chul’s family, and that’s how he became orphaned, since his parents fulfilled their duty
and then Jin-Chul finding out that he and Jin-Woo are also akin to soulmates and he chokes on fear, afraid to pursue anything with his other half because he knows that once soulmates find each other in his family, they wither and die. He’s not afraid of death, he’s afraid of losing other just like his mother lost her husband first and then withered like a dying flower herself right in front of his eyes.
he doesn’t even know that he’s the final result of soulmate bonds and what he has with Jin-Woo is a completely separate matter—
That would then mean that he reaaaally had no one like AT all, no aunts or uncles or nieces or nephews or even grandparents for that matter, which I think would inflict quite a generational trauma of the patents not wanting to fall in love with one another and then still doing and some regretting it quite a lot to the point that it gets inflicted on jinchul as his parents keep telling him to never EVER fall in love with someone and much less have a child with them.
(Extra f up is the fact that all the love is gone the moment the fragments have a child because they have already finished colliding and therefore the strong pull is now weakened or completely gone. And so every child grows up with parents that don't love each other, some that try but end up failing, some that are neutral, some that maintain some sort of bond but none have that bond from before which leaves people to try and search for a stronger love than their parents, and as soon as they find it with a nother Fragment, they are weak to that love and the cycle repeats again.)
Also I forgot to wonder just WHERE did the fragments end up? Did they really all end up on earth? Cuz it would be cool if at some point Earth did have magical races that wished to fall in love and reproduce with humans since they also had fragments of the Absolute Being and that's where stories of monsters came from. And since the fragments along with the monster's would die early, many saw the beasts as bad since their humans only lived such a small life compared to the rest.
Anyways Jinchul would probably have pieces of those monsters and humans alike,[ I legit this could also play a role of how the new version of the Absolute Being of the world HAS the blood of ALL his creations.] which — and get this— when the gates start appearing and he awakens, he is already good at speaking the monster lenguage but he doesn't know that because he hardly ever goes inside gates, and when he does the monsters keep screaming that they want to kill humanity and stuff so he doesn't think much of it. High ranking demons can speak human lenguage too after all so he doesn't get interested in those ideas...
Until all the sudden he starts to feel the fragments shake around him and feel bad, like for some reason he feels emotional about the deaths but also... thrilled? He can't understand it and tried to devoid himself of those emotions as much as he can.
There could also be a point where Jin-Chul's mana begins to change little by little as he get closer to jinwoo, he keeps waking up having nightmares of loosing someone that looks like jinwoo but isn't [I always headcanoned ashborn to look the same as Jinwoo but more beautiful, older and with straight white long/purple wavy hair instead of the natural black colors] and it gives jinchul more reason to not fall in love with jinwoo. At the same time he is also having some shifts in his hair or his body, it hurt so much like a hanahaki disease but instead of flowers his entire body is having these masks of shock but ate hidden because most of them are just in his chest. His mortal body can't take all the power of a God and its trying to go back to the same way it was before, with the same hair and skin the Absolute Being had, even killing all of his memories so that the universe can once again have its creator back but jinchul doesn't want that, he only wants to love like a mortal, and even then HE STILL THINKS that all of this is being caused because he doesn't want to love his soulmate.
[There is one plot hole tho and that is that these bitches gay, but I guess you could still argue that the fragments could still find one another and then mix into a child that they could adopt, so that way jinchul still fears the outcomes even though they can't biologically produce.]
[To add even more angst, the fragments could also fie true other means but gruesome, since the only thing that was keeping them alive and protected where the fragments inside their hearts, then the moment they are passed down to the children, suddenly fate tries to kill them in horrible ways because they are supposed to "exist anymore"

so with the knowledge that walter loves his family on the basis of how they can best serve his narcissistic needs, what role is holly "playing" for him once she's born? i know there's a couple of scenes where he's doting on her, holding her close and showing her all the money he's earned (super normal behavior btw lmao); but considering it's relatively normal for it to take a while to bond with your baby (specially for fathers, specially because babies cant speak and all that, are still developing their personality etc), i'm wondering what's going through walt's mind in these moments? is this affection that he has to perform for the sake of being seen as a good father figure? or is it something that comes "naturally" to him because he likes that babies have no choice but to depend on their parents?
I do think Walt likes that there is someone in his family who is both entirely dependent on him to provide for her in a tactile sense and incapable of passing judgment on him. Since Holly is such a blank slate, she doesn’t really fulfill a niche role in the way that, for example, Skyler fulfills the role of wife. She’s sort of the opposite of Jesse in that sense, because Jesse fulfills All the roles, Jesse to Walter is like a Jeopardy wheel of sidekick adjacent tropes he can project his shit onto. Both, though, fulfill the broader, bigger picture role of the Dependent, which is how Walter likes his loved ones, completely dependent on him. Holly isn’t ~as~ loved as Jesse because she’s not so much of a challenge in that sense, plus she’s a baby and they’re boring, esp for someone leaning so hard into his midlife crisis. But because she doesn’t present a challenge and is also a cute baby, she’s easy to love. If Walt’s love for her is purer than his love for Jesse and the rest of his family, it’s not just bc again she is a cute little baby, it’s also because their relationship doesn’t have as many qualifiers, there isn’t really anything she has to aspire to in order to fulfill her role as a dependent in his life, that’s just how it is. She plays her part well and without complaint bc she is literally a baby. I do think if she had been an older girl Walter probably would have assumed the characteristically insufferable role of the possessive helicopter dad who won’t let his daughter date or wear makeup, measures the length of her skirt before letting her out of the house, waxes poetic ab how much harder it is to raise a daughter, brandishes weapons at teenage boys, and is generally overly invested in the status of their daughter’s virginity. He just has such a trad idea of what it means to be a family man and provider, I can really see that for him. Luckily this is also the timeline where Skyler snaps and kills the shit out of him so it’s fine

cypher?
So much of how I see him is just to do with his role in Valorant. That, and his relationships with other people. I haven't ever really thought about him as who he is, as sad as that is. I think writing When Will My Blood Turn to Ichor was the only point where I thought about him past his job, and even then, he was very much tied to his work or his relationships with other people. I guess that and chess lol
Idk those are my overall thoughts about him. If anyone has characters they would like me to do this for, feel free to send in an ask! Hope you enjoy :))
5 things they usually see:
Screens. So many of them too. Whether it's a security feed, his own phone, a laptop screen, his actual eyes (which I see as a screen or some sort of display - I mean... they look like fly eyes up close)
Checkered, wooden squares of a chessboard and the finely kept pieces that get placed on the board.
Blueprints, pictures, and the notes he makes for himself. (Physical is best sometimes when it comes to secrets and the not so secret like his little to do list Brimstone assigns him)
Fluorescent lights above his head as he does all his monitoring. This includes the cold wash of light they give everything around him.
Kingdom logos. They're hard to avoid when they're on every window, building, and even the weapons they use. And each time he sees the 'K', he's reminded of how his home is being torn apart for some radianite.
4 things they usually feel:
The steady motion of his tripwire as he spins one around his fingers as he's lost in thought.
The sleek feel of his Ghost. Sometimes it's in his hand, but oftentimes, it's along his chest, easily reached yet out of sight.
The slight resistance of his keyboard as he flies through the web. His typing speed is particularly useful when it comes to the paperwork that comes with his position.
The warm noon heat of a Moroccan sun. Depending on the time of year or where exactly he is, this is sometimes accompanied by the rising humidity of moisture meeting the same temperatures.
3 things they usually hear:
The faint humming of machinery all around him at all hours of the day. Whether it's the clicking of his suit, the clacking of his keyboard, or the buzz of a security feed, he's constantly reminded of what he surrounds himself with.
The voices of all the agents around the base. After all, it is his job to keep track of them. More than once, he's heard something he wishes he didn't (things that are terrifying, disgusting, and embarrassing)
The high pitched laughter of a child. When he desperately looks around for the source, he realizes it was all just a dream. One he still needs to work to attain. (and if he gets there, will it be in time or will he have sacrificed so much that he loses his chance at fulfilling the dream, so by doing his job to secure the future, he ends it?)
2 things they usually smell:
Stale air that hangs around in his office like a slow alarm reminding him that there is life outside his walls and door.
Sweet jasmine candles that he'll light when he's in his room (on the rare occasions he sleeps there). A small reminder of his home. Sometimes, when he smells it in combination with something else, often random and unpredictable, it unlocks memories. Of Nora holding his hand as they walk a long a dim street, of street vendors who shout out to those who pass by, of a room in which he saw someone... Blood was never really meant to smell that sweet.
1 thing they usually taste:
A good green tea with mint, freshly brewed, or just prepared. The sharpness along with the general earthiness of the drink grounds him to what is at stake: his home, and by extension, his family. Refreshing :))

Ro, my friend, bestie!!!! Star, galaxy, black hole and moon for the ask game!!! Any of the guys in your life who you are inspired to gush about can answer them!!! :3 (I love asking about Ren SO MUCH but you also have other sweeties and I don't want to neglect them 💖)
( @verykissablepixels )
THANK YOU REFFIEEEEEEEEE!!!!! 🥺💕💕💕 i'll probably still end up answering for ren bc i'm so ren-pilled skdfkjn, but i'll throw in some of the others where i think they fit!!!
Star- Does your F/O do anything to calm you when you're upset?
i think ren would actually encourage me to be outwardly upset more often ;; not in an unhealthy way, but because i don't really express those kinds of things anymore. if something seems like it's upsetting me but i'm not Doing anything with it, he might ask me some questions, probe a bit to see if it's something i REALLY don't want to talk about, and suggest i vent a bit or cry on his shoulder... and once that's done, we'd go fix something to eat and he'd pump me full of electrolyte water LMAO. ;;
(and it's work both ways tbh -- doc!ren has even worse issues with expressing negative emotions than i do, and r!ren expresses them through being bitchy to people who are being bitchy to him ksjdfn, so i'd want to help them vent in healthy ways when they're upset!)
gray's pretty simple with his methods... he's one of the most mature people in wonderland (which isn't saying much tbh, he's just better at it than the others), and since he fills so many job roles while working for nightmare, he knows how to approach people. so he'd sit me down in a quiet room, far from the hustle and bustle of the busy areas of clover tower, and ask what's wrong. he'd let me get it all out, politely interjecting where need be, and then once i'm done he'd suggest that he could make hot drinks for us (to which i'd have to reply that I'D make them kjsnfjkn, i don't trust him to boil water let alone mix ingredients ;;;). and if it turned out that my issue was due to someone being threatening or violent, he would... take care of the issue later... :)
oushirou's a silly guy, but he has a very serious side as well. he'd sit with me, encourage me to let things out, hold my hand, and maybe help problem solve a bit. he likes to keep up a daily stream of communication when possible, so if he got Vibes from an earlier chat, he might let me vent when he gets back home and then be like, "btw i picked up dessert for us on the way back for no particular reason whatsoever, so look forward to that!" he knows i know it WAS for a particular reason, and he lets me huff at him for being frustratingly good at picking up on things i try not to let others see. and while he isn't as retaliatory as gray, if i was upset at something a stranger said / did to me while out and about, he might play bodyguard for a while juuust in case i need someone with a strong kick with me ;;;
mars is quieter in his approach. he'd cuddle up and ask if something was wrong -- they know if it's something important enough to me that i'll let it out with a little prodding. he'd just hold me as i vent, and when i'm done, they'd thank me for feeling like i can trust him. and then we'd just... "move on" -- once the emotions are out it's better to focus on something emotionally fulfilling! he's like a more immediately open oushirou -- it wouldn't take much time for them to feel close enough to pick up on those things and know how to help me deal with them in the moment and after, and like oushirou, they generally know when to play it cool around violent people, when to be threatening, and when to actually make good on those threats.
Galaxy- What do you and your F/O do when one of you is homesick?
both rens have complicated feelings about their family homes, feeling a weird mix of nostalgia and disgust. by the end of his whole story, doc!ren ends up not being able to go back At All, Literally Cannot, so sometimes he has that contradictory, "well now that i CAN'T, a part of me wants to go back after all......" feeling. I think in his case, the only thing we can do is just be together for however long he needs, doing things that remind him of the better moments back there in a, "there are still things from there that you have here," sense.
and this particular s/i's brand of homesickness is like a low, constant, simmering feeling of homesickness they've long adjusted to... poorly adjusted, but adjusted nonetheless hhhh. just being around doc!ren helps to soothe those feelings, and as the relationship continues they start to disappear. "i have a new home now, and it's you," vibes. 💕
r!ren's a bit easier KJNDKJN. he misses visiting his grandparents, who he's closer to than doc!ren is. we'd end up sitting somewhere cozy, and he'd either call or video chat with them and we'd all talk together. i'd start learning french to bridge the gap a bit, but ren would still translate when needed. talking to and spending time with the people he loves helps a ton on its own (he does want to take me to visit them in person at some point though hehe).
this verse is fairly close to reality, aka i live with family, so no homesickness for me lmao.
oushirou is less homesick than one would think -- yeah he's constantly traveling, but it's the one thing he's always known he wanted to do, enough to completely cut contact with his disapproving parents over it. he'd still miss the winter crew and me, and would visit whenever he could, but i'd say it's less like homesickness and more like... if they and i could travel with him, he'd never feel the desire to return home. traveling IS his home. we do, however, having some matching clothes and items so that, when he can't visit for a while or if he loses service and can't call / text, we can still feel connected!
also living at home here so no homesickness for me, but i do miss oushirou dearly, which makes it all the more important to him that we make the most of every possible moment together when he has the opportunity to visit!!
gray doesn't have any homesickness. he's pretty much like everyone in wonderland (except ace) in that regard. -I-, however, do feel some homesickness in spite of myself, and this sends gray in to a quiet panic. in his mind, i'm homesick -> i want to go back home -> i'm going to leave wonderland and never be able to return. so despite knowing how manipulative it is, he constantly takes me out on dates (platonic or romantic) to places he KNOWS i'll adore. wonderful restaurants, art supply shops, spots on the roads between locations that he thinks i might want to draw, doing physical activities that i can't manage back home... he wants to show me that wonderland is better than anything i had going on before. he'd freely admit to all of this if i called him out on it or if it seemed like it was making things worse, but despite his mature exterior he really is just as willing to sweep details under the rug as any other wonderland resident if it means keeping someone he cares about nearby.
Black Hole- Have you ever had a strange dream about your F/O?
all of my oc f/os have been sourced from strange dreams tbh so i won't even go into them lJSNIFLN, their stories are really just edited versions of my initial dreams about them.
i have Fucking Weird dreams about oushirou all the time though. it's mostly things like "i found a secondhand shop for doujin, and there's SO MUCH OUSHIROU DOUJIN I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!! I HAVE TO BUY IT ALL!!!!"... but also absolutely unhinged shit, like one where we met at a library we were sheltering in and, over the course of a couple of days, fell in love, he was bitten by an animal and developed RABIES????, we decided to get married before he was too far gone, and then i became a widow. so. KJNAKJN.
and i won't go too far into details bc i said i wouldn't, but mars was technically created from an oushirou dream set in a zombie apocalypse. he was a test subject to see if zombies could be "brought back", and i was brought in as like... an impromptu chat buddy to help with socialization. scientific overreach etc etc the arrogance of man etc etc. years later i rewrote it to make more logical sense, made that oushirou into my oc, and used the whole thing to work through chronic illness feelings (yay yippee love to dump my issues on my ocs weehee)!
i've also had some very weird ones with raven, like when he and rita slipped through spacetime into this world, and we met by chance and all bonded pretty quickly. or when he was an... instructor? at some kind of summer camp for adults?? and while it didn't seem like i stood out to him much at first, he actually stuck up for me at one point and kept wanting to connect after that. idk, weird things with no real rhyme or reason but that don't even come CLOSE to the weirdness of the oushirou dreams lol.
Moon- What's something your F/O does that never fails to make you happy?
being cute hehe 💕
doc!ren: he's very good at sussing out things that someone would ENJOY doing but may not have a reason to go out of their way to do, so he helps me get out of my comfort zone safely and understands if/when i hit my energy limit. i also love when he feels he trusts me enough to release "you will regret this" levels of infodump on me KJNFKJN, it's so cute and sweet and his enthusiasm is contagious.
r!ren: my LORD is he good at making me feel special!! and with his personality, it's clear it isn't just a matter of niceties or being a flirt. i feel so happy every time i can see how genuine he his, how far he's willing to go just to provide comfort, how he wants to be around me just as much as, if not more than, i do. how, if i have to cancel a date bc of a flare-up, he'll immediately come over with a care package filled with healthy (and secret not-so-healthy 🤫) goodies to keep me going for a day or two. 🥺
oushirou: genuinely just... his everything. but in particular, his over-the-top silly antics really get me. he'll make mundane things sooo dramatic just for the sillies + the joy it brings to others. he has great emotional intelligence and puts his ALL into helping those around him feel better. (also i know vaguely-horny does not equal happy.... but he sure does make me happy when he canonically KICKS THROUGH DOORS ksndfkjn like helloooooo?? sir??? 😳 that one scene has made me so Not Normal for the past 11 years....)
mars: something as simple as holding their hand. we're both very protective of each other -- we kind of have to be, given our situation -- so they often provide a sense of comfort. whether we're just sitting and reading together, or we're doing some activity to stimulate his cognitive function, or we simply cuddle in his holding chamber, they emanate a strong sense of safety, and i can really feel it through his light hand touches and rubbing the back of my hand with their thumb. and in a world that's gone to shit, that simple, caring touch means so much.
gray: OOOOOH his gap moe mode kjsndfkjn. after the serious answers, i get to the serious character and my answer is just "when he goes googoo gaga over anything soft and fluffy." he's so cute in jnkna when he's fishing on a frozen lake and a little seal becomes his companion 😭 and he names it after alice and puts a little alice bow on it 😭😭 he even gets cute when peter turns into his rabbit form -- as peter yells and scratches and curses at everyone, gray's still like 😳 bnnuy.... 💕💕💕💕💕
raven: when he's being a little drama queen ksjndfjn. i think there's plenty of room for quiet, serious talks that end with us feeling happy with our situation, but nothing beats when he's teasing karol or being a little silly guy! just a little 5'7 guy!! and it's his birthday!!!!! etc ksjdnk. his skits always crack me up, bc more often than not he's so unhinged for NO REASON! he's just LIKE THAT!! and yet he still thinks "raven" is a mask. nah man. you are all of your masks, the masks were always part of you, and that means part of you is a silly little trickster and Local Weirdo (tm).

OC Interview: Emmanuel Domingo
(dialogue responses to the OC interview prompt)
1. Please state your full name and occupation.
“Emmanuel José Domingo Alvarez, or Manny Domingo for shorter. I’m a physical trainer and a grad student, hoping to become a physical therapist!”
2. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I am a proud Guatemalan and first generation American citizen of my family, and first to go to college too, which I am so grateful for. I love the outdoors and playing sports; I’ve been an athlete since I was a little kid, as little as a baby, because my father says I kicked a lot before I was even born!” (laughs) “Let’s see…I have two wonderful partners, Phineas and Violet, who I adore with all my heart, and my dream is to build my own physical therapy practice and help people pursue recovery and healing at any shape, size, or condition!”
3. How would you describe your childhood?
“I think I had a wonderful childhood, despite missing a few things. My father did everything he could to make my life better and easier than his was and he made good on that promise. Growing up without my mother here was hard sometimes, but I was still surrounded with so much love and support, I didn’t want for anything even when my papà didn’t have a lot to give. I could do sports and make friends and I got good grades and made my papà proud, which was enough for me. I am very fortunate.”
4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
“I wanted to represent Guatemala in the Olympics! I still think I could honestly, but that would mean a lot of work to change my current path, and I’m quite happy with where I am now!”
5. Do you have any role models? Tell us a little bit about them.
“Ah, so many! My papà, of course, he is my hero. A few athletes, notably Erick Borrondo, who was the first and only Guatemalan Olympic medalist. Serena Williams, but also Alok Vaid-Menon and Blair Imani. I look up to the people who I feel embody the spirit of being authentically who they are and fighting to reach their potential, or helping others to do the same.”
6. Are you introverted or extroverted? Why?
“Absolutely extroverted. I can’t help it. I love learning about people and meeting new friends. Phineas jokes that I’ve never met a stranger, and that’s true!” (laughs)
7. How would you describe yourself in three words?
“Passionate. Loving. Determined!!”
8. What do you like to do for fun?
“I love it when the three of us go hiking or to the beach together. Or cooking dinner with Violeta. She is a wonderful baker! I enjoy testing recipes with her. If I’m by myself I mostly enjoy going for a run out in nature, or watching anime. I can binge a whole series in a weekend if I’m not careful!”
9. What's your greatest achievement? Why do you consider this your greatest achievement?
This was answered in an ask, check the tag to find it!
10. What's your biggest goal? How do you hope to achieve this?
“I want to be able to help people achieve the best versions of themselves. I don’t know if that can count as a goal so much as an aspiration but it is something I think I’ll never achieve only once, but rather will always work towards. I get a lot of fulfilment and energy from helping others, it enriches me and makes me feel purposeful. I think because of this I will never truly be done working towards this goal because I know in my heart I’ll always be looking for ways I can help, moving from one to the next. It’s a good thing for me though, it makes me excited about the future.”
11. What does your dream room/house look like? Would you mind showing some inspiration pictures?
“Honestly I’d love to live in my childhood home! My father and I have been fixing it up, he’s been remodelling a few of the rooms and I help him some weekends. We have so much tied to that place, it’s a very special and comforting space. It has high ceilings and lots of natural light in the front room, a gorgeous sunroom where papà keeps some of his herb garden, and the kitchen is coming along with new cabinets and countertops. Little by little! If not that exact home I’d love something like it - warm and inviting and bright, with space for me and my loved ones to enjoy each other’s company.”
12. How would you describe your style?
“Athletic and comfortable. I am usually at the gym working with my clients so I am always dressed for that. Which I don’t mind, I feel stuffy in other clothes sometimes. If I’m not wearing gym clothes I’ll at least like to wear some decent shoes, and I always bring a hoodie or jacket wherever I go. I like being prepared.”
13. What's your favorite song?
“Ahhh I love music, this is a hard question! My go to answer for this question is usually What I Got by Sublime, but there are so so many more - Sweet Honey by Slightly Stoopid, Longview and When I Come Around by Green Day are also favourites —ah! Too many to name!”
14. Where are you happiest?
“Outside! Even on bad weather days I love being in nature. I often like to go on walks or lay in the sun on my patio or in the grass on the campus green. No matter what mood I’m in nature can always manage to bring me back in some way. It’s as close to a cure-all as I can get.”
15. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?
“It’s impossible for me to pick just one person, I love too many to say one is more important than the other.”
16. Do you believe in soulmates? Why or why not?
“I believe with all my heart that Phineas and Violet are my soul mates. I also believe my father and mother are soulmates. But I believe soulmates aren’t just lovers, you know? They’re friends. They’re mentors. They’re whoever makes you feel like your life is worth living. Maybe that’s not a soulmate to some people but it is to me.”
17. Have you ever been in love?
“I am so in love! I have been in love since I was very young. I continue to love just the same, even more now I think, because I know what it means to feel it.”
18. Have you ever been kissed?
“Oh most certainly. I don’t think I’ve gone a single day in recent memory where I haven’t been kissed. I’m so lucky for that.”
19. Describe an average day in your life.
“I like to get up early and start the day with black coffee at the window. It’s a good time to get myself some alone time and prepare for my day because no one is awake yet usually. After coffee I’ll have breakfast and then get ready for the day. I try to keep all my classes in the morning so that I can train my clients in the afternoons and evenings, so I work out after lunch before training, or if I have time I’ll try to get a workout in after breakfast and before classes. I try to keep busy so I tend to book clients until late, and typically I’ll be finished with my day around six or seven. Dinner with my loves is usually after that, and then I’ll do homework or study or spend time with them after that!”
20. Describe your nighttime routine.
“I try to walk every night for a little bit, which usually means I get to walk with Phineas and his dogs most evenings. Or if he isn’t up for it I’ll take them myself. I like doing that, they’re sweet and it makes me feel helpful. After that I’ll enjoy whatever Violet and Phineas have planned - for them, it’s usually movies or shows, and we like to take turns picking what to watch together. Sometimes we’ll play a game or I’ll play cards with Violet while Phineas reads, but my nights typically end with the two of them no matter what. After all that, I’ll shower and get in bed - Violet sleeps in and Phineas is an insomniac, so I’m usually the first to sleep, but they still like to cuddle up with me even if they don’t sleep right away, which is so very lovely.”
21. (Make up a question) Tell us a “low-stakes” unpopular opinion you have.
“Oye this might talk me out of a job but - exercise is free! You don’t have to buy anything, you can just move! The myth that there’s a right way or proper way to exercise is silly to me - go walk, jump up and down, dance in your living room! Exercise is free and it can be anything you want it to be! I dislike the narrative society has created that tricks people into feeling like movement needs to be competitive or prescribed or on a membership basis. You can do whatever you want, you can move however you want - my father used to chop wood in the back yard to work out, we didn’t have a fire place! There are less rules than you think, have fun!”

Out with the Sussexes, in with the Parker Bowleses. Revenge is sweet for Charles and Camilla
Catherine Bennett
The royal wrath has seen Harry and Meghan evicted from their Windsor cottage, but never mind, there are plenty of spares
Sun 5 Mar 2023 07.00 GMT
The much hoped-for new edition of Spare must be writing itself. “‘Darling boy,’ Pa said. “This is a section 21 notice. You’re being evicted. Your attack on my darling wife was unconscionable. The new tenant, Prince Andrew, wishes to keep the copper bath.’”
Given the wealth of new material and the potentially liberating impact of Charles’s revenge, an entirely new book, Spare 2: Exiled, would probably be a better commercial decision for Random House once Harry has finished promoting volume one. The same week his family’s eviction from Windsor was revealed, he was preparing for an online session with physician Gabor Maté on “personal healing” and telling a US interviewer that he’d like to be reincarnated as an elephant.
Prior to that transformation, there’s not only the royal reaction to Spare to unpack, along with his humiliations at the late queen’s funeral, but, promisingly, all the stuff omitted from the memoir, thanks to what seems to have been some hope of reconciliation. “There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know,” he told the Telegraph. “Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.”
But to judge by various retaliatory acts, there is not much forgiveness to forfeit. The eviction from a cottage he was allocated by the queen and its offer to a generally reviled uncle being only one indication that Harry’s exclusion is expected to be permanent and as mortifying to him as the stars of this dynastic drama can make it. Subtle, his avenging enemies are not. Harry doesn’t mind about missing the coronation? How does he feel, then, about being replaced in the public’s affections by Tom Parker Bowles? Yes, Camilla’s son, the author of Fortnum & Mason’s. An author in his own right. The Gods are just! Maybe Harry should have thought about that before he insulted the house of Parker Bowles?
It’s only a line or two in Spare but Camilla was unlikely to forget this bit: “She began,” Harry writes, “to play the long game, a campaign aimed at marriage and eventually the crown.” Favourable Camilla stories began to appear that could only, he says, have come from her: “And the leaking had obviously been abetted by the new spin doctor Camilla had talked Pa into hiring.”
The favourable press continues to this day with a vastly enjoyable Times article exploring a question on many of our minds: “Tom Parker Bowles: the Firm’s new secret weapon?” No less an authority than the Times columnist Giles Coren was happy to confirm, last week, that his friend, the suddenly priceless Fortnum asset, is a credit to his mother: “She must be a great mum because of who he is.”
But our royal bogof – acquire one Parker Bowles, get another one free – does not stop there. The queen, as more dutiful publications are already calling Camilla, might be above actually slaying anyone, but she’s evidently keen to promote her blood descendants while Harry’s babies, rightfully inheriting his doom, live to rue the day he disrespected her. In comparison, the vengeance inflicted by a ruthless queen mother on the unfortunate nanny-memoirist, Crawfie, was mild in not featuring eviction and a substitute favourite.
The plan is reportedly for Camilla’s five grandchildren to join Prince George in the coronation entertainment, fulfilling roles previously performed by duchesses, their solemn task being to hold a canopy over Camilla while she is anointed with holy oil. The Sunday Times said the refreshed ritual would send a message to subjects that Camilla and Charles “reflect the reality of modern life”. “Blended”. Not unlike Agrippina, Nero and Claudius in AD49.
Where an average unhappy family might struggle to communicate, they ensure difficult relations are publicly snubbed
Assuming modern is how the public also views the descendants of the former Silver Stick in Waiting, their multitudinous appearance could yet be problematic for King Charles in fattening up a royal family he has forever said he wants “slimmed down”. More pressing, of course, is the difficulty he has pointlessly created for himself in the approach to the coronation, in choosing the permanent proximity of his unspeakable brother in Windsor Great Park over that, rarely, of the troublesome Sussexes and their children.
Could he not wait three months to demonstrate that he considers criticism of Camilla, the queen consort, a worse offence than his brother hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein; that a whiny book is more embarrassing for his family than its connection with Andrew’s rumoured £12m settlement – despite his denials – of Virginia Giuffre’s sex abuse accusations? (To be fair, some prominent media supporters clearly share his assessment.)
Charles could hardly, anyway, object to the Sussexes’ Frogmore Cottage being largely vacant. Not after personally collecting property including Highgrove, the Castle of Mey, Birkhall, a Welsh farmhouse, a Romanian ditto, a Scilly Isles base and Dumfries House, on top of accommodation in Clarence House, Windsor Castle, Sandringham, Balmoral and Buckingham Palace. Any of which – although perhaps innocent Romanians should be spared – would be a less compromising place permanently to store Andrew.
Still, the king and Camilla deserve some credit for offering so early in his reign the Windsors’ traditional act of service: a sign to subjects that there’s always a palace-based family more fucked up than their own. A contented couple in their 70s can’t handle the not very astonishing fact that the bereaved Harry resented the rival Diana had called “the Rottweiler”.
They can’t resist fuelling this conflict, at the risk of overshadowing their own coronations and, in making it permanent, of losing two grandchildren. Where an average unhappy family might struggle to communicate, they ensure difficult relations are publicly snubbed, replacement dependants promoted. They can’t even recognise that their revenge could hardly be, from a commercial perspective, a more timely and generous gift. .

11:30 pm listening to H.E.R every kind of way while sitting in my room in Karen waiting for Sweetie Banana, KaMami and LoustaLousta to show up. Isn’t that cool? I will have my mom, nephew, grandma, brother, dad, cousins, uncles, aunts and so much more extended family in the same country. I feel like a normal human being again. I have been away from so much family for so long that it felt abnormal because it is abnormal. I had a lovely, long, tiring and fulfilling day. I got up around 10, got ready and went down to the farm to see a family member that tends the farm. The first time he saw me, he literally gasped and said my moms name. He couldn’t believe I was her daughter on the farm, in person. It was so kind. So I went to see him for a little bit and he just praised me and sent blessings my way for being kind and present for him. He told me if he could, he would cut out his heart and give it to my mom, my brother and I. But if he did that, he would die. But if he could, he would. Lol, such a morbid kind gesture. Then I went back to the house linked up with Karimi and headed out to Kitengela to see her daughter and her kids. It was a long ride there and we got lost but once we got there, we had a lovely time. I met my second cousins, they are pretty cool and now I have another Kendi in my life. So many Kendi’s bruv. But it’s so cool that I have so many young, fly and cool girl cousins. We stayed for the afternoon, then headed back. We hit traffic so it took a minute to get home. It was a quiet ride because we were both tired. Karimi also blessed me for taking her and spending time with her family. Honestly, I am in a stage where I am asking the Universe to give me a baby girl so I have a role to play as well and that is to be Gøod especially to my elders and family. I can feel it in my body that this is right. I want a baby girl soooo bad. Everyone seems to have an opinion as to when, where, and for what reasons I should. Whereas I just want a baby girl made from Love. The rest is filler. Remember how I said, I am in a stage of falling in Love while I am writing the chapter on Love. Today, I was thinking about how I have been afraid of falling in Love for years. Like I had situationships, vibes etc and I genuinely had feelings for those people. Was I in Love with them though? No. Mostly because I couldn’t fall in Love. I was too guarded. I theorized all the reasons of being non-committed, not living together, never getting married because if I lived/Loved with one foot in the door and the other foot out the door, it wouldn’t really hurt if we split. If I jumped all the way in, I was scared I wouldn’t ever get over the heartbreak. And I know this stems from a previous heartbreak, my parents divorce and divorce in general. I know that I would not do this with anyone else but Munene. Why him? Because he has been my bestie my whole life. Because he validates me. He values me. He sees me. He understands me. He knows my fears, anxieties, hopes, dreams and wants to align with them. Because… him, I trust him. Likely the only man on this planet I trust other than Shaka. And so, I will Love. I am ready, I am brave. So yeah, all these theories I had that were actually walls built to avoid vulnerability are coming down. And the person I am on the other side of that wall is beautiful. She is in Love, happy, playful and present. Sometimes, it feels like who am I even?!? But I know this Love feeling will settle and this will be my new normal. Thanks for the lessons Universe.
Ase. Ase. Ase.

What You Need to Know About Working as a General Practitioner Down Under
Thinking about pulling on the stethoscope and taking up a gig as a GP Down Under? Mate, you're far from alone! Plenty of medics are snagging their interest into the Australian lifestyle where we reckon about 75% of folks can book in to see their choice of general practitioner.
Fair dinkum, I was once just as fired up at the thought of weaving my medical career through this diverse land myself. This yarn is your trusty guide to gettin' real insight into what life's like for GPs here in Oz - everything from your day-to-day grind to tips on making the big move over.
So lace those boots, let's crack on and take a squiz at your dream job in Australia!
Key Takeaways
Doctors in Australia take care of both mental and physical health.
As a GP in Australia, you earn a good salary and get respect from people.
A typical day for an Aussie GP involves helping many different patients.
Moving to Australia as doctor comes with loads of help, even for your family.
Lots of jobs are there for UK - trained GPs down under.
Understanding the Australian healthcare system helps make working here easier.
Understanding the Role of a Doctor in Australia
Doctors in Australia are key players in healthcare. As a doctor here, we handle more than physical well-being. We also look after people's mental health. Our role covers the total health of patients - we care for their body and mind.
As general practitioners (GPs), we work inside communities. Our job is to know all about our patients' health. This means you won't stick with just one type of medicine. You will use many different skills and lots of knowledge.
Being a GP in Australia means meeting some rules set out by our medical system. This includes showing that your skills are up to grade for working here. The work needs good judgment, not just following steps or doing what you do every day.
In Australia, being a doctor goes beyond treatment—it’s about fostering overall wellness among patients within the community setting.
youtube
Life as a GP in Australia
There's a unique sense of fulfilment working as a GP in Australia, offering unparalleled opportunities to contribute significantly to community health. The benefits are indeed considerable, including competitive salaries, good work-life balance and high standards of living.
If you’re transitioning from the UK, be ready for certain differences such as patient demographics and healthcare system nuances.
youtube
Benefits of practicing in Australia
In Australia, life as a GP is full of rewards. One big perk is the high salary. Doctors here get paid well for their hard work. This helps to offer us a good quality of life. We know money isn't everything, but it sure does help.
Another plus point is that general practice sits at the heart of our health system. In fact, GPs are more sought after than any other medical profession in the country! People trust us and respect our advice.
On top of this, we spend less time lost in red tape and more time helping patients. Good patient-centered care is much easier when we're not always fighting paperwork or dealing with barriers to giving care.
Differences from the UK
In Australia, we have some changes from the work life of a GP in the UK. We often work fewer hours. Yes, having more free time is one big perk for us! You might find that nice too.
Australia also has more GPs per person than England. That tells you how much need there is for medical professionals like us down under. It's not all easy though. The jump to another country can be rough and finding GP work may test your grit.
But don't worry, it's worth it!
Our weather sure beats the cold you're used to in the UK! No heavy coats or gloves needed here - just sunshine throughout most of the year! Another key change is how we delegate tasks among our team members at clinics and hospitals which makes our job run smoother.
Some folks back in Britain may not paint a rosy picture about life here, but we want you to get the whole truth before making your decision.
Daily Life as a GP
Working as a GP in Australia involves diverse daily tasks, such as patient consultations, paperwork and professional development. The most rewarding aspect is the ability to help patients improve their health while the challenges may include dealing with complex medical conditions.
youtube
Typical day
We get up early and kick off our day as a GP in this amazing country. We meet many patients with different health problems each day. It's not uncommon for us to start our morning by seeing a regular patient suffering from lower back pain, hypertension, or gastric reflux.
As general practitioners, we stand as the first point of contact for many seeking healthcare down under. Building bonds with people who trust us with their wellbeing is part of our daily work life.
Families rely on us over time to provide continuous care and support.
No two days look alike in our line of work here in Australia! Our tasks shift often making every day diverse and intriguing. From handling acute cases to managing complex ones, we find opportunities to learn and grow professionally at every corner.
Best and most challenging parts
Being a GP in Australia pushes us every day. The work can be tough, but it is also rewarding. Balancing the workload tops our list of challenges. We face long hours and high patient numbers.
