Jacob Flees to Laban
1 So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him. Then he commanded him, “Don’t get married to a Canaanite woman. 2 Go at once to Paddan Aram. Go to the house of your mother’s father Bethuel. Find a wife for yourself there. Take her from among the daughters of your mother’s brother Laban. 3 May the Mighty God bless you. May he give you children. May he make your family larger until you become a community of nations. 4 May he give you and your children after you the blessing he gave to Abraham. Then you can take over the land where you now live as an outsider. It’s the land God gave to Abraham.” 5 Isaac sent Jacob on his way. Jacob went to Paddan Aram. He went to Laban, the son of Bethuel the Aramean. Laban was Rebekah’s brother. And Rebekah was the mother of Jacob and Esau.
6 Esau found out that Isaac had blessed Jacob and had sent him to Paddan Aram. Isaac wanted him to get a wife from there. Esau heard that when Isaac blessed Jacob, he commanded him, “Don’t get married to a woman from Canaan.” 7 Esau also learned that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Paddan Aram. 8 Then Esau realized how much his father Isaac disliked Canaanite women. 9 So he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath. She was the sister of Nebaioth and the daughter of Abraham’s son Ishmael. Esau added her to the wives he already had.
Jacob Has a Dream at Bethel
10 Jacob left Beersheba and started out for Harran. 11 He reached a certain place and stopped for the night. The sun had already set. He took one of the stones there and placed it under his head. Then he lay down to sleep. 12 In a dream he saw a stairway standing on the earth. Its top reached to heaven. The angels of God were going up and coming down on it. 13 The Lord stood beside the stairway. He said, “I am the Lord. I am the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your children after you the land you are lying on. 14 They will be like the dust of the earth that can’t be counted. They will spread out to the west and to the east. They will spread out to the north and to the south. All nations on earth will be blessed because of you and your children after you. 15 I am with you. I will watch over you everywhere you go. And I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
16 Jacob woke up from his sleep. Then he thought, “The Lord is surely in this place. And I didn’t even know it.” 17 Jacob was afraid. He said, “How holy this place is! This must be the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.”
18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head. He set it up as a sacred stone. And he poured olive oil on top of it. 19 He named that place Bethel. But the city used to be called Luz.
20 Then Jacob made a promise. He said, “May God be with me. May he watch over me on this journey I’m taking. May he give me food to eat and clothes to wear. 21 May he do as he has promised so that I can return safely to my father’s home. Then you, Lord, will be my God. 22 This stone I’ve set up as a sacred stone will be God’s house. And I’ll give you a tenth of everything you give me.” — Genesis 28 | New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Holy Bible, New International Reader’s Version® Copyright © 1995, 1996, 1998 by Biblica. Jacob’s Dream (Genesis 28:10-22)
All dreams which we carry with us into conscious waking – no matter whether mundane or extraordinary – are telling us a similar message: “Hey! Pay attention to this!”
Jacob’s Ladder by Darius Gilmont Jacob left the town of Beersheba and started out for Haran. At sunset he stopped for the night and went to sleep, resting his head on a large rock. In a dream he saw a ladder that reached from earth to heaven, and God’s angels were going up and down on it. The Lord was standing beside the ladder and said: I am the Lord God who was worshiped by Abraham and…

Genesis 40:8 (NIrV). “We both had dreams,” they answered. “But no one can tell us what they mean.”Then Joseph said to them, “Only God knows what dreams mean. Tell me your dreams.”
Genesis 50:20 (NLT). “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
Romans 8:28 (ICB). “We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people God called, because that was his plan.”
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT). “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
“Six Dreams that Came True” By Bible Love Notes:
5 Reasons that God entrusted Joseph with 6 life-changing dreams.
Joseph’s life involved six dreams: two about his destiny, two about the destiny of two fellow prisoners, and two about the destiny of Egypt (Genesis 37-41).
Why did God entrust Joseph with these dreams?
God had a purpose for Joseph's life, and Joseph had these godly qualities:
1. Joseph gave God the credit (Genesis 40:8; Genesis 41:15-16).
He never took credit for the special insights, abilities, and favor God gave him.
2. Joseph persevered.
He spent thirteen years in slavery and twenty-two years separated from his family.
3. Joseph refused to be sidetracked by sin (Genesis 39:6-18). He refused the advances of Potiphar's wife at great personal expense.
4. Joseph did his best in the worst of circumstances because the Lord was with him (Genesis 39:2, 23).
5. Joseph knew sinful people could not thwart God’s plan (Genesis 50:20). Genesis 50:20 is an incredible, faith-filled statement much like Romans 8:28.
God has a plan for each of our lives (Ephesians 2:10), and Joseph's example can serve us well.”

Lesson 050: The Unforgiven
Genesis 50:15-17 - When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him.”  So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.” ’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
Why did Joseph’s brothers tell such a story to Joseph after their father died?  Weren’t they all at peace with each other at this point?
Let’s read together Genesis 27:41-42 and Genesis 42:21-22.
Joseph’s brothers were still wracked with guilt for how they treated Joseph, selling him into slavery, and lying to their father about everything.  They were afraid Joseph was only being kind to them for the sake of their father.  Now that Jacob was dead, they were afraid Joseph would finally take revenge upon them.
Why did Joseph weep when he heard their story?
Let’s read together Genesis 45:3-8 and John 11:25, 32-37.
Perhaps Joseph cried because he realized his brothers still didn’t think of him as one of them.  Perhaps Joseph cried because their story brought back memories of past trauma.  Perhaps he cried because he had already forgiven them, but they did not believe his words.
Let’s read together Genesis 50:18-21; Matthew 6:15; Matthew 18:35; Mark 11:25; and Romans 3:23.
Joseph did not want servants - he wanted brothers and family.  Joseph once again freely forgave his brothers.  He reassured them he would not retaliate against them for the wrongs they had committed against him in the past.
Why does God ask us to forgive those who sinned against us?  We all have sinned against God, yet He is willing to forgive us when we confess our sins and repent.  In the same way, we must follow Jesus Christ’s example in forgiveness.

Feminists, I want to express how I feel when I see all of you (as someone who once held feminist views and disliked men a decade ago, but now that I have gained understanding): Enough with the sabotage!

Robot a day #79-82
I’m doing robots a day now. That means more people could be a part of this, and more mechs to be covered.
However there are restrictions
-There should be no flesh inside of the robot (Cyborgs and people like big daddy in Bioshock)
-No OCs
- Depictions of Ai bots (Making a humanoid version of an online bot)
- No human robots (The face of a human with skin, arms ,legs, etc)
___________
Other than that, all fictional, real, piloted, and other robots are welcome!
If there is a weird gray area, I’ll just choose.
Feel free to send recommendations!
(Astro boy looks weird as hell so I’m simply not gonna look at him lol)

Abraham Begs for Sodom
But if the fifty righteous should be diminished to forty-five, wilt thou destroy the whole city because of the five wanting? Been on a mecha kick last couple of days and will when I have some time will probably watch some SRW playthroughs (AND OF COURSE GET TO MY ASKS HERE) but for now have some thoughts of what Shinji and Asuka’s relationships with other famous Mech pilots would be like.
Noriko Takaya (Gunbuster) - Noriko is the peppy athletic senpai who might drive Shinji and Asuka crazy but they can’t help but respect.
Simon Jiha (Gurren Lagann) - Pre-timeskip Simon is a good friend of Shinji’s and both Kamina and Misato say they’re both similar.
Roger Smith (Big O) - Asuka thinks Roger is the coolest pilot out there, and tries very hard to make Shinji jealous of them.
Noa Izumi (Patlabor) - Noa’s eccentric behavior might raise the two Eva pilot’s eyebrows but she thinks of herself as an older sister to them.
Shotaro Kaneda (Tetsujin 28) - Being the only pilot younger than them Shinji and Asuka are both kinda in awe of the child detective.
Sayaka Yumi (Mazinger Angels) - Being cool and smart, Shinji can’t help but look up to her and Asuka can’t help but be jealous.
