In January, she revealed in a New York Times profile that she self-defines as non-binary. (Ramsey says she doesn’t mind what pronouns are used for her, and elected to use she/her for this interview.) In December, she told me that she wore a chest binder for “90 per cent” of shooting The Last of Us — “Which probably isn’t healthy, like please bind safely” — allowing her to focus better on set. Pascal, whose sister is trans, was “super supportive,“ says Ramsey. The two of them had many conversations around gender and sexuality. “And they weren’t always deep: they could be funny and humorous, the whole spectrum. We were just very honest and open with each other.”
Ramsey may not define herself as a woman, but that doesn't mean that playing women isn't a gratifying experience, or is something that makes her uncomfortable. “This is what bothers me more than pronouns: being called a ‘young woman’ or a ‘powerful young woman’, ‘young lady,’ but I'm just not [that],” she says. “Catherine Called Birdy, I was in dresses. Young Elizabeth, I was in a corset. And I felt super powerful in that. Playing these more feminine characters is a chance to be something so opposite to myself, and it’s really fun.”
Identity is a foundational element in The Last Of Us games, not least in Part II. By this second chapter, Ellie is older, more grizzled, and in a relationship with a woman, Dina – something Ramsey hopes they’ll explore in the recently announced second season of the show. “There are a few bits with Ellie on her own, probably, but I like the fact that she also has [Dina] now,” she says. Despite the initial venom, Ramsey’s pre-premiere anxieties have largely made way for excitement. “I mean, season one really was the best year of my life,” she says. “As the episodes come out, [they] bring back such good memories. I am nervous, of course. [But] I’m so excited to get the chance to do that again.”....
A great interview! Worth reading in its entirety! 👍🏾

Luna is particularly attentive to Mexico's film industry, having witnessed how a number of films from the late '90s and early aughts--Sexo, Pudor y Lágrimas; Amores Perros; Y Tu Mamá También--became phenomena that birthed a movement. "People went to cinemas to see stories where they could see themselves and their context represented," he explains. "Back then, there were very few films that the government wanted to fund. That control is not there anymore."
But despite the greater creative freedom, he is aware of the challenges that Mexican filmmaking currently faces. "We don't have a healthy industry these days. It's very difficult to get your money back from the box office," says Luna. "The amount of pressure the major [blockbusters] have on cinemas leaves very little space for Spanish-speaking movies."

MIZU Meeting a London Lady -
Mizu traced the map with a hint of fondness, curious--thoroughly interested these "London" people knew about Japan. It was completely detailed, from Kyushu to Kyoto and all the way to Honshu. She hovered over Edo and wondered about everyone, especially swordfather.
The samurai (or lost ronin, depends who you ask), faltered slightly when Fowler's door opened and a thin man walked through.
"I need a quarterly, Mr Fowler. Preferably right away; my mother is waiting for the numbers. You know how irate she becomes when..." The Englishman froze when he spotted Mizu. "...oh dear,"
Mizu wasn't afraid of being "caught." But rather interested in meeting others, solely to gain knowledge about her current residence. The "man" that spoke held a light inflection. Higher vocal tone than most, yet still deeper than Mizu's lower register. The one Mizu chooses when she's pretending to be a...
Mizu mulled over the learned phrases Fowler had her learn. "You're a woman." she settled with.
No, "Good morning's" (it wasn't a good one for the samurai), and no "hellos" Mizu didn't practice the art in fine socializing skills.
The man...er, woman, closed the door behind her. Trapping herself in the room with the foreigner. She was dressed as a fine gentleman would. Taller than average, just as Mizu was, but more adept at speaking formally as a man. Her eyes were a deeper blue than Mizu's. And her eyes, similar shape as well. A foreign onryō? All this way from Japan?
"And just who are you, good sir?" The woman snapped, bringing Mizu back to their current situation.
Mizu repeated the phrase in her head, trying to understand the question. "I'm Mizu. Your name?" She asked in return.
The woman heard the feminine voice and instantly relaxed. "Mizu. Your accent. You're not from here."
Mizu nodded.
"I'm.. well Mr Flowler calls me what he wishes, and those name aren't repeatable in front of a, uh, lady. But they call me... Mr Kiramman." She nodded with a strong assurance. "Caitlyn Kiramman."

go up in flames, go out in style
(hot tub the terrible things I've done)
fandom: oxventure in the dark
pairing: Edvard/Zillah, Edvard/Zillah/Kasimir
rating: foundry no. 5 on FULL BLAST
summary: “Oh, sorry,” Kasimir says, removing himself to a safe distance, “this is Zillah, goddess of the fight,” Zillah waves, sheepishly, “and this here is Edvard, bravest man in Volisport,” and he kisses Edvard on the cheek with an audible smack of skin on skin, though the shock of it is somewhat undermined when Kasimir starts giggling again, “sorry, I get effusive when I’m full of adrenaline.”
“Enchanted,” Rita says, eying them up. “Are you three here for business or pleasure?”
tagged: Hot Tub Sex, hot tub the terrible things I've done, foundry no 5, Dirty Talk, OT3, Pre-OT3, this was written because I thought of a terrible terrible pun, and then well, chekov's hot tub is far sexier than chekov's gun, a bit of consensual voyeurism never hurt anyone, Watching, volisport gentleman's quarterly
---
So I accidentally titled this 'watch me float as I fall' and then realised that I absolutely cannot give that title to a story that is not in the watch me canon, and then had to rename it very quickly. so if you see the email go out with that, sorry, not a new watch me (though it is coming).
Until then I saw that @stickthisbig was having a bad day so I finished this fic as its her ot3, and now I am going to bed, because somehow it was 1AM AGAIN ffs why does this keep happening to me.

bottoms derive their name from their tendency to be clean-shaven - a typical bottom of the time must, as a 20xx issue of gentleman's quarterly put it, "have a face as smooth as a baby's bottom"
the complementary 'tops', on the other hand, are named not for their propensity to be seen in high society wearing the eponymous hats. their name stems from a deeper, more ancient tradition: that of the whirling dervish, known in modern parlance as the 'spinny top'
