“Tengri see colours as symbolic of the natural order of things. Көк, which describes all the blues and greens means ‘god given’. Tengri itself is ‘a great-blue sky'. Sary describes all that is made of earth and all the earthly colours from yellow through red and brown. Umay is the female manifestation of Tengri, coming from earth which is Sary (yellow). So, when we are alive our body is from the earth and our soul from the sky and when we die, each returns to its place, and the circle is complete. We are this circle.” Aigana Gali

More information here: "From January 29, @artupstreetgallery opens an exhibition of a talented emerging artist Ruso Tsig at the outdoor exhibition spots in Batumi, at New Scene - Batumi Drama Theatre, Cafe Conte, Near the Cinema Apolo & Tbilisi, Fabrika. Exhibition features a series of artworks depicting the streets of Tbilisi. The colors used in paintings are chosen to convey a positive mood, but some details may hint at the negative aspects of the city as well. Ruso’s projects are characterized by their unique style and depth, picturing people's inner worlds and states. She is also a music writer and has written several tracks to accompany her works. She is also a co-author of the comic book "Zodiality" which is about a mysterious place called The Zodiac Kingdoms which are divided into 12 regions and they maintain an alliance to fend off the mysterious invaders known as anti-souls. Ruso is currently working on the second edition of "Zodiality" in collaboration with writer David Plat. In parallel, she is also working on a new project called "Anx-Ray," which explores the experience of panic attacks." "Oniani was one of the most recognized poet and artist. In 1963 she graduated from Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts. Her graduation work The School-Leavers was highly praised and was sent to the student exhibition in Moscow. She participated in numerous all-Union, Caucasian and republican exhibitions, also worked as an artistic director in the State TV Company and taught painting in the Academy of Fine Arts. She illustrated many books, among them Erlom Akhvlediani’s book for children THE STORY OF A LAZY MOUSE.Her poems and essays were published in various periodicals since 1966, the main published books being: POEMS (1978), BIRDS SOARING QUIETLY (1982), WHITE VISITORS (1986), WHAT I DON’T FORGET (1998), 100 POEMS (2010), FROM OLD NOTEBOOKS (2011). In 1982 she was awarded the medal of the ARTISTS’ UNION for Davit Kakabadze’s Portrait. In 2000 she posthumously received the Georgian State Prize." Via intelekti
